  1. Have been in to the Dealer today. The Service Manager didn't seem to be aware of the recall. He looked it up and, not surprisingly , it is a sofware update. This could take 4 hours! Must be quite an update! My car is now booked in for Monday 14th.
  2. Thanks for the links. My car comes up as needing the recall. I have called my dealer and am awaiting a call back from them.
  3. Yep, I got the update as well but hasn't resolved either of my minor issues. KM on Sat Nav and no high beam assist.
  4. I had somethimg like this once. After I stopped the car and restarted it it cleared. My guess was that, like my PC at home, sometimes the computer technology doesn't boot correctly. It hasn't happened again.
  5. Similarly I have ‘bought’ High Beam Assist. The car says installing but it never seems to complete. Having looked at the Skoda Connect website it states that installation will be after 24 hours from purchase.
  6. Well I’ve got it working now. I have also had contact with Skoda Customer Services. Reading between the lines it would seem that Skoda have difficulties with the technology at their end.
  7. I've given up with Skoda Connect. It just dowsn't activate.
  8. I have a Oneplus 6 running Android 10. Having read this thread, when I got in the car today I tried to connect to the phone without using the lead. It worked! So that was £10 wasted on a new lead!
  9. I collected my SE L First Edition last Friday. All good so far although I am still trying to work out the tech! The only onvious problem is the SatNAv displaying metric units. I called at the Dealer this afternoon and after trying all the menus without success the Salesman went and spoke to the service department. Apparently there are a number of cars accross the model range that have this problem with the SatNav. They are waiting for a software update to resolve it. I wonder how long it will be?

  11. NIce to read this report. I ordered my 1.5Tsi Manual SEL frist edition on 18th June, again speccing a stock order in the pipeline. Dealer doesn't know where it is! Seems strange to me. I am just hoping it hasn't been damaged in transit.
  12. Well I've ordered mine today. Of course in the current circumstances there is no indication as to when delivery might be. I think the guys at the Dealership were more excited than I was!
  13. I went from an Octavia Mk3 to a Superb. I love it! Unfortunately my wife doesn't because of the size. I must admit there are occasions when it is more difficult to park. My next car is going to be the new Octavia. I think that says it all!
  14. I suffered this problem back in March 2019. To rectify it the radar unit had to be recalibrated. This is quite an expensive procedure and, I was told, not covered by the warranty. The work had to be contracted out by the Skoda dealer to a third party. As my car is on Contract Hire I complained and ended up getting a contribution from Skoda Finance and the Dealer. That said I still had to pay £119!
  15. The contract on my Superb is due to end in May. I intend to replace it with a new Octavia. I have been into the Dealer who was unable to give me any dates but thought deliveries could start in September or October. I telephoned Skoda Financial Services who were happy to extend my contract by 3 months. If I have an order reference by that time, no problem. Here’s hoping.
  16. Me too! I have reinstalled the latest updated maps but it has made no difference. There have been a lot of overnight roadworks on the A12 in recent weeks and I wonder whether the Sat Nav is receiving out of date data.
  17. Having thoroughly enjoyed 3 Octavia's I have just ordered a Superb SE Technology 2.0l on Contract Hire. Even with a few extras added the monthly payment is less than that I am currently paying on an Octavia Elegance. Great news! Can't wait for May when I should take delivery. Dealer has suggested GAP insurance. Never taken it before but does anyone have thoughts on this topic? Seems cheaper to take a stand alone policy than that offered by the Dealer.
  18. I actually prefer the cleaner lines of the dash on the Mk3. I had a FL mark 2 and on seeing the Mk3 thought the dash was a great improvement. I have found no lack of storage space for my needs.
  19. I updated mine but it took for ever! I had to leave the machine on all night while it downloaded. Luckily my weekend and overnight usage is not included in my allowance! There is another post as to the process which I followed and it worked. Good Luck

  21. I collected my car on Friday 24th and have been trying to find out about all the techie stuff! I managed to ascertain that my SatNav software was version 18 - 2012/2013. Overnight, when my downloads are free, i downloaded the software from the web-site. I managed to find out that this was version 21 - 2013. So with great trepidation I followed the instructions and it seems have managed to update the software with the Amunsden telling me it is now using version 21! Have to say I am loving the car!!
  22. Collected my car yesterday afternoon. 2.0 TDI Elegance, standard spec in Denim Blue. Only driven it home, 18 miles or so so far but impressed with quality. And all those 'toys'. A bit like my smartphone will I ever use them all? Have 4 years to try! Can't see any problem with BPillar trim reported elsewhere and can't say I am too worried about the chrome trim. In the flesh it looks all right as it is to me.
