Autoglym Lifeshine?
Got it back this afternoon and what a difference. They used a guy who details cars for a living, looks so shiny all the contamination has gone, all the swirls on the bonnet have gone. Just need to do a water bead test to see how it performs. As an aside they lent me a 1.0 tsi Scala OMG what an underpowered dangerous car. Pulling away just no go at all.

Autoglym Lifeshine?
So the car is going into the dealership tomorrow to have the Lifeshine removed with guidance from Autoglym, it will then be machine polished and then the product reapplied. They are having it for two days so hopefully it will be a better job this time.

Seat Covers
I used these people for our Kodiaq very good fit and looking at Octavia in their drop down menu it does mention armrests as an option. https://rhinoukbootlinersltd.co.uk/

Autoglym Lifeshine?
We recently purchased a 69 plate Kodiaq in Moon white metallic and as part of the deal the Skoda dealer applied the Autoglym Lifeshine products to the car. However they obviously didn't prep the paintwork properly and there are swirls in the paintwork and what looks like spots of dirt under the ceramic coating. The paintwork doesn't bead up particularly well when wet. Just wondered if anyone else has had this applied and if there were issues were they sorted out. I have spoken to Autoglym technical and they have said to return it to the dealer to have the issues rectified. Have spoken to the service manager and will be taking it in next week so it will be interesting to see what they say. Not holding my breath though.

Kodiaq Sportline winter wheels and tyres?
We have a Kodiaq Sportline with 20" wheels and would like to get some wheels and tyres to swap over during the winter as where we live is quite rural and the roads can be quite muddy from farm traffic. When we do get snow the 20" Pirelli tyres might as well be slicks. Was thinking of dropping down to 18" and wondered if others had done a similar thing.

Rear Seat Covers
We needed rear seat covers for our Kodiaq and looking around and at the price of the Skoda ones and that the dealer couldn't guarantee that they would fit the Sportline we bought some online for £40. Well let's just say they were a very poor fit and not that good however they fit our Panda Trekking perfectly (shows you how poor of a fit they were). We thought we were going to be stuck with the Skoda ones as the only choice but the came upon the Rhino Bootliners website. They make them to order and they also are two separate pieces one for the single seat and one for the double seat. They fit like a bag over the back of the seat and have strong elastic around the base, plus separate head rest covers to. Very impressed with the design and quality. Means the dogs don't have to go in the boot to.

How to tell if tow bar is factory fitted?
That is identical to our factory fit towbar on our 2016 Vrs, made by westfalia but branded Vag. We had the insert in the boot without spare and there was a perfectly shaped space for it there.

Drive modes? 2.0tsi Sportline 4x4
Is it possible to stop the drive modes switching back to normal every time you turn the ignition off and on? I have my favourite options set under Individual and would like the car to stay in that mode. I had an Octavia Vrs TDI estate since 2019 before switching to the Kodiaq and it always stayed in the mode it was in when turned off.

Kodiaq Owners Register
Traded in my 2016 Octavia Vrs TDI estate today for a 2019 Kodiaq 2.0 Tsi Sportline 4x4. My wife says I have finally bought a grown ups car only taken 60 years😁

Towbar advice
I only tow a small trailer, 600kg plated. My local independent wants £700 and they will come to me to fit it. Think that's the way to go.

Towbar advice
I am just in the process of trading in my Octavia estate for a 2019 Kodiaq Tsi Sportline 4x4 and I need a towbar fitting. Skoda want £1695 for the privilege, they will only fit the electricly deployed towbar but obviously it's all in including coding etc. But there is a bit of a wait for it. Just wondered if anyone has experience of having one fitted independently, I am near King's Lynn Norfolk

Freesat 4k recorder and Hybrid Lnb?
Just wondered if anyone does satellite TV installs and has seen this before. We have just replaced our old Freesat Humax box with a new Freesat 4k Recorder (ARRIS), we already have a Labgear hybrid lnb. Initially I connected up with the already known working two std ports on the Lnb and it detected the signal fine. I switched over to the wideband connections and I get nothing no signal. I assumed it might be alignment of some sort but it was getting dark so I left the box connected to the original ports on the Lnb. We went through settings up our recordings and without realising we set up three programs to record at the same time. This morning everything recorded perfectly so I setup multiple recordings for 9am and it definitely let's us record three programs and watch a fourth. No idea what is going on but going to leave it alone.

Scorpion Exhaust - anyone got one?
My Tdi is fitted with a Tsi twin tailpipe system and all the associated brackets and heat shields, it's been on there a couple of years to no ill effect. Just fancied a stainless system and not keen on the straight through Milltek. Did email Scorpion but they wouldn't comment on fitment which was disappointing.

Scorpion Exhaust - anyone got one?
Has anyone fitted an unresonated Scorpion system to their Vrs Tsi? Just wondered what the fit is like and how easy it was to put on. Are the pipe diameters at the front the same as std?

Swap standard VRS exhaust for back box delete
There's a full Vrs Tsi system on ebay for £80, collection only so depends where you are. I have fitted the back boxes for the Tsi on my 2016 Vrs Tdi for purely cosmetic reasons. Had to put a joiner in as didn't want the front silencer.

Laying up for winter
I live in the Fens and winter started in mid December, no snow but wet, muddy and sharp frosts. If we do get a period of dry weather then I will use it. Need to go up to Gateshead to work on my sons house in Feb so hopefully take the Vrs there to. Have had a few Discos and diesel P38 so know all the trials and tribulations of ownership and have all the tools. This one is the run out Vogue SE model 02 plate, am getting about 15mpg on petrol not worked out the lpg yet its 71p per litre so less than half the cost of E5 Super Unleaded.

Laying up for winter
I am going to lay my Vrs up for the winter as fed up with it getting filthy on our rural roads. I don't have a garage but have plenty of hard standing and gravel driveway. Going to leave the handbrake off and plug it into my ctex trickle charger. I debated getting a cover but not sure, car has ceramic paint coating so it washes up nicely so I can keep it cleaned. One question is should I run the car up to temperature occasionally? and rotate the wheels? I have bought a 4.6 V8 Range Rover as a winter hack running lpg so the fuel cost is a bit better 😬😬

Anti siphon device 2017 Octavia
I bought a Ford one off ebay for my Vrs and it works perfectly. Also if you get a 500ml bottle of Millers Diesel Ecomax it has a black sleeve that let's you put it in, you could easily take it off the bottle and connect a funnel to it

Centre caps
I bought some new centre caps for my Vrs from this online shop, they are in China but arrived quite quickly. They are much better than the cheaper ones on ebay etc. https://www.rhinotuning.com/collections/skoda

Dump valve noise sort of?
That makes sense completely, not used many drive thru's so only just noticed it after three years🤣.
-
Dump valve noise sort of?
I maybe hearing a normal noise but wanted to check. My 2016 Vrs Tdi is bog standard engine wise except for a pedal box. I have noticed a noise not dissimilar to a dump valve but a bit warbly when sitting in the drive thru for Costa, happens every time the engine stops, I have stop/start on at the moment, the noise may have been there the whole time but gets reflected back of the wall of the drive thru. Tried to hear it at home but its quite open where we are and the sound is less. So my question is, is it normal or has something come adrift. Performance is normal.

Outdoor cover for Vrs Estate
Did wonder about a carport or one of those pop-up garages. I had a cover for my Subaru back in the day but it was always garaged so the cover stayed dry.

Outdoor cover for Vrs Estate
I am considering getting a cover for my car as we have no garage. After spending ages cleaning and polishing the car on Wednesday the local bird population decided to carpet bomb the car overnight which didn't please me much. I need something of reasonable quality as living in the Fens it can get a bit blowy at times, also will offer some protection at harvest time. Anyone got any recommendations?

Front splitter
OK so in the centre at the front from bottom of the Splitter to the floor is 195cm at the point closest to the wheel it is 175cm but there is a part of the car lower than the splitter

Front splitter
I will give it a measure later for you. I have been over a number of different speed humps without issue.
