  1. Maybe remove the whole stub axel from the car and attempt to drill/tap it out on a bench.
  2. As with all VAG cars running the 2.0 TFSI engine, the mounts are made of cheese and so will likely want to be replaced. Top two is quite an easy job but the subframe bushing is a bit more involved, possible DIY if you're brave but probably easier to just get a garage to do it. Any VRS is likely to have had some abuse so worth looking at getting them swapped out.
  3. I just want to say a big thank you for this guide @seanw! I found it whilst in the inspection centre importing my VRS to Sweden, It was going to fail but thankfully I found this guide and the engineer was a decent guy. He told me to fix it and bring it back in an hour, quick trip to Biltema (Swedish version of Euro Car Parts) and some fettling in the car park and it was sorted. Dual Fog-lights working perfectly, showed him and it was signed off with the new registration issued straight after.
