  1. I don't want to risk any damage to the module by shorting the wires to earth. My test seems to show that the wiring is ok I have seen a switch available for £10 so I am going to take a punt and order it Thank you for all your help and assistance.
  2. I have had a probe around with the test meter. Picking up a 12v feed and earthing through the black/ green and white/black wires I get a 12v reading showing both wires reach ground. I see no damage like shown in the photographs at the door plug. Is it now safe to assume that the switch itself is at fault?.
  3. Thank you for all your help and assistance. When I have finished work for the week I will be getting the test meter out and checking the wiring at the switch before I dismantle the door
  4. Am I correct in thinking that the four wires are, Live Left window Right window And illumination?
  5. Will do, I take look at wiring first.
  6. Thank you for your quick response, the car is a 2013 facelift.
  7. Hello everybody, hope someone can help. My driver's side electric windows switch has stopped working. I only have front electric windows on my car, the driver's side switch operates neither window but lights up when lights are on, The passenger side switch works as normal. I have checked both fuses and they are intact which makes me believe it's a bad switch, can anyone confirm this as a likely cause before I fork out for a new switch. Thank you in advance.
  8. Hi. They are fog lights operated by the front fog setting on the main lighting switch. They are fitted with 55w yellow bulbs.
  9. Brum is renowned for it's slow traffic, Miles may be a put put but its my put put 😁. I have found these bulbs in the demon tweaks catalogue, would they be a viable solution?. ( main beam only) On a separate tangent I have previously fitted oil pressure, water temperature and voltage gauges as I don't trust the warning lights as in my mind by the time they come on it is too late.
  10. Hi. I can see fine using the dipped projector lamps. It is on country roads etc where the main beam seems inadequate. I understand the warning about possible damage to the fittings, Would higher power legal bulbs like nightbreakers be any good?.
  11. Hi everyone, happy new year. I am looking to replace my main beam h7 bulbs with 100w versions. They will be powered via ceramic connectors through a relay and heavier duty wiring. Are replacement bulb retainers available that allow the use of standard h7 bulb connectors. I have already fitted aftermarket fog lights using a similar setup.
  12. Job sorted Thank you everyone
  13. Sounded normal to me, not going like the clappers, it cut out smoothly too.
  14. The fan ran at same speed as when the air conditioning is activated.
  15. I was wanting to check both the fan function and the flow, fortunately everything seems to be working correctly.
  16. Hi everyone, Fan came on at indicated 100 degrees, Bottom hose is hot so I assume all is well. Thank you for all your help and advice. Have a good and prosperous new year.
  17. 1.2 3 cylinder petrol engine. The heater is certainly better, running at an indicates 90 degrees no issues so far.
  18. My temperature gauge is now connected up, which should be helpful. Running engine again after topping up
  19. Thank you for your replies, I've taken it for a short drive, on the way back the high temperature light started flashing and chime sounded, as I was only 300 yards from home I continued. Coolant level has dropped and bottom hose is warm, No sign of leaks so I believe thermostat is ok. Letting it cool before topping up. Hopefully all is well. Thank you again for your help and advice.
  20. Hi everyone. I have had to change my thermostat which required draining the coolant. All the hose clips have been replaced with high quality jubilee clips. I am wondering how long it should take at idle for the radiator fan to start. Running engine after refilling the system its taking forever for fan to kick in, Top radiator hose is hot, there are no leaks and the heater is working well and no signs of the engine overheating. The blue warning light went off, am now idling with heater on cold and red warning light isn't showing but comes on with the ignition. Anyone know how long it should take for fan to come on? Thank you in advance
  21. I have checked the servo hose, it is in good condition. DTC P0335 is the error code, crankshaft sensor confirms garage reading, im going ahead with another sensor and letting them fit it.
  22. Hi, I've just got back from picking the car up, The mechanic said that when the fault reoccurred they double checked that the timing was correct which it is spot on, He also showed the the old chain and sprockets which have signs of wear on so it would have needed changing soon anyhow. The obd diagnostic is saying crankshaft sensor and he's said to obtain another one which he will fit for free then he will lean on the supplier for a warranty refund if the first sensor turns out to be faulty. In the meanwhile i will make the check which you have suggested. Thank you for all your help.
  23. Hi The car is 2013 with 80,000 miles and im in Birmingham, I will get car scanned when I pick it up later today, and do my own scan to double check. Will ask them to check hose then post codes later this afternoon. Thank you for your quick reply .
  24. Hello everyone, I am currently having a big issue with my 3 cylinder fabia 1.2. Starting with the engine management lights coming on, these were scanned as faulty engine sensors, due to mileage covered these were changed along with the spark plugs and ignition coils as they were due. This cured it for a short while then i got the epc light and limp mode. The engine is/was fine cold but went into limp mode with epc when warmed up and was difficult to start from warm. A VW specialist was certain that this pointed to a stretched timing chain, this has been changed by a professional garage but the issue remains. Looking likeI am going to have to take it to a skoda dealers but has anyone got any ideas what this could be or is there a 'reset needed'. Thanks in advance.
  25. The sensor is changed, you were right about the difficult access. The fault has cleared and its starting up properly and light staying off. Just need to do a road test now. Thank you once again
