There will be a table online somewhere, just gotta search for it, sure I found it once or someone else knows how much oil consumption is allowed - try using the search function in this forum Sorry I can't be of any more use, I don't believe your oil consumption is overly excessive though, just a little annoying. I found since removing the DPF/remap that my oil consumption has dropped, probably due to lower temperatures as the car isn't performing DPF regenerations

Just bought some more discs, juratec ones. Spoke to a couple of different people and they're basically saying yeah, it's automatic and it's gonna happen. It does get driven hard, often with heavy loads in it. Oh well! Another expense to add to the new dual mass flywheel! Thanks for the responses guys.

Mk3 VRS TDI DSG Estate. This will be the 3rd set of front brake discs I've gone through due to warping. I always clean the mating faces correctly and check for any inconsistency on the inner faces of the discs. I've now tried 3 different manufacturers, I was gonna try MTEC as I've got some of their discs on my Saxo but doubt they'll be any different.. Anyone else had this problem? Is it just because its an auto and I'm always holding the brake on the hills? Any potential remedies? Cheers

Believe it or not there's no smoke, even when booting it! It is an MOT failure, but luckily I have a friendly MOT tester that also sorts my straight piped Saxo VTS..

If the brake discs were warped you'd feel it squirreling and shaking under braking - I know this because I've warped 2 sets in 40k miles.... Therefore I think you can rule the brakes out. You checked all the bushes for the control arms up front? Tracking rods in good nick? -
Simple answer, buy a downpipe and remove the DPF 😈

What makes you say this?

I've just installed a Darkside Development DPF straight through kit, remapped by West Yorkshire Tuning. It's juddering at around 2100-2400rpm

Hey all, My Octavia just clocked 110k and the DPF is now doing my head in. It's also eating oil due to higher engine temps. It's regenerating pretty much constantly (oil Ash residue is at 65%) so I've got a darkside DPF replacement downpipe/EGR removal kit. It's the CUNA / charge cooler engine. Currently running a DTUK box but this will be coming off, being replaced with an ECU/DSG remap from a trusted friend. Planning on about 6-8 hours for the replacement as apparently its a nightmare, just wondered if anyone has any tips, tricks or pointers for anything else I should be doing/checking whilst the subframe is off/lowered and I'm in the back of the engine? Car will also be getting an oil change and DSG service at the same time. So yeah, if you've got the same kit or done something similar, let me know! Cheers, Joe

For the sake of £9.50 (what admiral charge me) - I would declare changing the colour of the seatbelts and the carpet.

My figures are correct ta, £450 might get you a remap and a printout, but having your car *genuinely custom mapped* requires more hours than a flash map and a rolling road printout. I'm not doubting your power has increased, neither am I doubting people with tuning boxes has. My original and ONLY point is that a remap and a printout from a rolling road is NOT a custom remap.
