  1. Ah thanks mate. I had another go today and managed to replace the belt no problem, just had to slip the belt through a narrow corridor between the bracket and the pulley. Those bolts holding the bracket are in a very tricky spot. I’m only replacing the belt as a preventative measure, the belt has just under 200,000km on it so I figured I better swap it out, water pump is fine haha. Belt still looked perfectly fine though
  2. Hey guys, So im trying to replace my serpentine belt (alternator belt, whatever its called), and I cannot get it out, the very top pully near the supercharger belt has a metal bracket that is in the way, like its right up close to the pully and the belt cannot be removed from it. I have attached pictures, and I cannot find any other topics about getting this belt off! Thanks, Nic
  3. I seeing this as a positive experience thought. I’ve learnt so much about my car for the future
  4. Yeah me too!!! Lucky huh.
  5. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I found the culprit! After a hard hit (partner hitting a speed bump hard) on of the plastic tabs broke off the intercooler and out a small hole in the plastic pipe. Hopefully I’ll be able to repair it with some plastic weld
  6. Thanks mate. I think I’ll try and get the front bumper off to assess any damage around the intercooler. From the cabin, if definitely sounds like the whooshing sounds is coming from the left hand side of the car, near the firewall, but I’m also aware how the engine space can direct noise around and can confuse
  7. Ok thanks! I’ll keep looking! I just had the entire air box out and couldn’t see anything odd, and that gave me a good view of other pipes , all look fine. Hmmm
  8. I’d love to have a really good look at the intercooler but it’s behind so much stuff!!!
  9. Yeah standard. Not blow off like a regular BOV but when u hear the pressure bleed off after lifting off throttle. It’s really weird, performance is kinda fine, no engine lights or anything bad, just increased air rushing noise. It started yesterday after my partner apparently hit a speed bump really hard and damaged the bash plate underneath, but there doesn’t seem to be anything else damaged or missing etc.
  10. Hi everyone, I have a 2012 CAVE 1.4 twincharger, yesterday I noticed I was getting alot more "turbo like" sounds, right from the get go, and when I'd let off the throttle, I wouldnt get the usual small blowoff style noise that im used to. Seems like there is excessive airflow/air escaping? I've checked all my air lines and everything seems good. Ive checked the control valve near the supercharger and it seems good. Kinda seems like the Diverter valve off the turbo is letting all the air escape. Is there anyway of testing the DV? I've taken if off and looked at it but it looks fine i guess Thanks guys
  11. Hi everyone, first time poster. I have a 2012 Fabia 2 vRS. I've just replaced my ac compressor, but am now told it's actually the high pressure switch in the Aircon system. Does anyone know which part number I need to order and where the switch is located? He said it's behind the dash....unsure about that. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. The original problem was my Aircon stopped blowing cold, and the radiator fans would start on high instantly when the car was given power, due to the hi pressure switch probably reading wrong.
