30 Min for driving = No Android Auto
Not sure about the amount of power, but mine is left always plugged in. I'm pretty sure the usb does disconnect after a while. With my octavia it powers up when I unlock the car. Then is connected before I drive off. Its actually the headunit loading smartlink that takes the longest not the device booting. Just tested plugging it in a few times and it's about 12 seconds from the USB going in to android auto being on the screen.

30 Min for driving = No Android Auto
I put it in the sliding compartment under climate control. And slide the door shut as far as it can with the cable sticking through. Seen some people use velcro to stick it out the way, which is probably a cleaner way of doing it. As for the error, I only ask Google to set destinations for waze. I'll try Spotify when out in the car later and let you know.

30 Min for driving = No Android Auto
I was a beta tester for this one, so have been using before it was released. Any questions just let me know. https://aawireless.io/ I solely use android auto and don't actually use anything else on the headunit, well apart from the dab radio. Good thing is now you can use a fast charger through the cigarette lighter.

There's no other solution for the mib2s.

How to connect with smartlink wirelessly (?)
You need to buy a dongle like this... https://aawireless.io/ If you've got any questions let me know. I've been using it for over a year for androidauto. They're currently making this same dongle work with carplay, but it's still in beta stages.

Wireless Android Auto Dongle working with video
I use it every day without any issues. It's just like it's plugged in. Havnt used any of the original mib2 features since I got it.

Infotainment thicko needs help!
If you have a nav unit with 2 SD card slots, hacking it is just a case of flashing some update patches, and then you'll have working android auto etc. If it only has one SD slot it becomes more difficult and you have to read the emmc.

Wireless Android Auto Dongle working with video
That sucks! But youre right where Huawei doesn't officially support Google, there have been issues with these phones.

Wireless Android Auto Dongle working with video
There was initially an issue with the technisat mib2 units, which has now been fixed in a recent software update. The unit itself works perfectly, just like when it's wired. I use it daily and have no issues at all.

Android Auto, WhatsApp voice dictation, works briefly then gets more and more out-of-sync, unusuable - other experiences?
If you go to system information and get the headunits part number, we can confirm from that.

I would be interested to know if you have a technisat headunit? Android auto has been implemented very poorly on these units.

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
@tigerfeetstupid question I know. But you are looking at long term stats and not since start? Or are you saying the while unit reset itself to default settings? @humar long term stats reset after a certain amount of miles, just can't remember how many

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
Have upgraded from 253 to 478. But as others have stated the unit needs to be patched first. Wouldn't recommend unless you have issues with the current software you're on. You do get a new grid style menu which is nice and I'm pretty sure the app button will work if you have the 5e0919605m glass screen.
