Brake Discs
Thanks. Mine are quite worn but it isn't triggered as yet. I'll hang on for a little longer as not making any noise at the moment .

Brake Discs
Thanks for the helpful advice here and I have just bought a pair of Bembo discs and pads for my 4x4 Superb. One question, thinning discs and pads was picked up as a caution on my MOT. Are there wear warnings on the Superb or does it mean that mine are not working?

Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working
Update is Cruise control still not working. Latest VCDS scan not showing any faults. If I disconnect the battery, the CC will work for as long as I don't touch on/off controls or brake/clutch. Once I do it does not come back on. VCDS guy on here suggested that the battery could be the problem and thinking about it, when the Skoda one died during lockdown I swapped it for my 2 year old Toyota Avensis battery. Reading elsewhere on the forum posts suggest that a battery replacement needs recoding. Could this be my problem?

Mine is a Superb 2 2011 4x4, where the towbar came as standard. It's Westfalia and looks the same as yours.

Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working
It fails on switch on stalk, brake and clutch, but all test OK when operated on VCDS and shown no faults. I'm wondering if there is another all-powerful module I'm missing, which is the problem...? Thanks again.

Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working
I'm not sure ...I had a garage run a diagnostic test and forum member here run VCDS and both showed switches all OK. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I switch the cruise control off and on again at the stalk, touch brake or clutch, it doesn't come on again. A non VW diagnostic test showed a 'steering module' fault, but the VCDS didn't. I might have to start randomly swapping out parts and if I do will start here, but not sure about that just yet. Thanks again.

Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working
Update - Still not fixed and any ideas very, very welcome! I bought a new Steering Column Module (clockspring) and took off the steering wheel, clockspring/module and stalk assembly. Tthe stalk assembly got stripped down and I checked the wires and contacts and cleaned both ends of the cruise control switch (stalk end and steering column end) and put it back. Then I stripped down the clockspring/module, checked and cleaned the ribbon, checked all wires and put that back. (I decided not to swap this out for the new one I bought as I thought I would need to reprogram this so instead I decided to check thoroughly first. Someone on here said the cruise control doesn't come through the clockspring - which seems to make sense). Each time I disconnect the battery and reconnect after and then the cruise control works once on and once off but no more. Another VCDS check shows no issues and testing individually the brake , clutch and cruise control switches and all are working with no issues. i am all out of ideas if anyone has any please?

Steering Wheel Clock Spring Repair Service
I have taken apart and cleaned the cruise control switch at the end of the stalk, no improvement. Took the whole stalk unit off and took that apart and cleaned, no improvement. A few months later I get a fault code saying control unit, so took that off (which I think is the same as clockspring?) to check. Any ideas please? That's a good video, not seen that and the zero position looks different (same part number) so will check mine again. Thanks

Steering Wheel Clock Spring Repair Service
I didn't find many on actually opening Skoda VWAG clocksprings (Valeo), other than this one on Youtube was reasonable, but no sound for most of it. Similar to my Mark 2 Superb Clockspring. https://youtu.be/UQNhCh2dv3o I got mine open OK and there didn't appear to be anything wrong with mine, which is sort of good but also frustrating, not to find the cruise control fault. I have cleaned it up ready to fit back tomorrow and maybe the clean contacts will improve it.

Steering Wheel Clock Spring Repair Service
I'm interested in your reply! I took out my clockspring today and am trying to work out how to open it up to check the ribbon cable! It's a VW original Valeo. There are 3 tabs inside the circular steering spline hole, which look like they bend to open for the top to come off, but which way!? I don't want to break as it's a difficult/expensive to replace. Thanks Nobby

Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working
I have taken the steering wheel off and go to the other end of the cruise control stalk and cleaned that up. (Neither contacts on the stalk either outer end or column end were that dirty). I inspected and there were no obvious wire breaks or dry solder joints. So I put everything back together and it worked for a couple of days, then went off again. There is now a new fault showing- Steering Column Module, which is sort of good news as after months at this, at least I know the problem now! These are £268 from Skoda and not much cheaper elsewhere and a 3 week wait. There is apparently a cable ribbon inside which cracks over time and I might try to repair/replace this in a few weeks time, when I don't have an imminent road trip. Has anyone tried this?

Drivers electric window stopped working. Help!
I ran into problems with the drivers window, after removing Heko wind deflectors. A small piece had broken off and got wedged in the channel, which made the window bounce back. Fix was a mix of the above. First reset window in down position, then 'help up' the window with 2nd pair of hands, reset in upper position by operating the switch a few times quickly, then finally disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
