I don't think OP has the button in his model.

OP have you looked in the infotainment settings under Car. Can't remember if there's an option to change its setting in there.

nope i dont have a button. ill look in the car thingy but havent seen it as sure i would have noticed it

  2. Sub frame wouldn't cost loads to replace? There's loads of golf 4 platform cars in scrap yards

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

really? thing is its done 167000 has had tons of work done and i really dunno what else will go wrong with it as has had headcasket replaced at beginning of year. will cost 95 to tranpsort the car to my own garage.

do you know roughly how much it would cost?

  3. hi im thinking of getting winter tyres and was wondering whether i should get wheels from a scrappy and get tyres fiited to them or get winter tyres fitted on existing wheels and then changing them back in the spring? i have a 2001 octavia 5dr estate tdi

    cheers

  4. There is a junction in the pipework for the front washers under the o/s end of the scuttle panel - mine popped off last year - what gave it away was the water dribbling out of the rear of the front wheel arches (down the scuttle panel drain). Other than that I am not sure of where the junctions exist for the front pipework.

I keep finding my front jets freeze :-( it was -9.5 as I drove to work from the top of Mendip this morning. Brrr!

hi its fixed now the pipe had popped out as above! funnily enough it was my wife that located it! lol she did work in a garage a while back!

  5. Hi and Happy New Year!

    ive a octavia 1.9tdi estate (2001)

after freezing I aint geting any wash from my front windscreen wash only liquid coming out at the back of the drivers front wheel arch. im getting wash out of my back windscreen. has my hoses popped off somewhere and anyone know how easy to locate them and do it my self? ive noticed that the hoses are attached by the nozzles.

    many thanks

    chris

  6. go to a skoda garage and they'll rip u off esp as garages arent selling many cars (despite what they say the scrappage scheme is doing)

if you need cambelt done id seriously think of getting garage to do it

find an independant gargage who specialise in vw and skoda and see how much they charge.

u may save money if your mate does it but if he f*cks it up it cost u more! but if hes good (which im sure he is) go for it! you can help him out and it may save you more money in long run!

  7. just so u all know i went to an independant garage who specialises in vw and skoda and they laughed at price chatham skoda quoted of £180 for new undertray and told me i didnt really need it but looked at it and they fixed it there and then for free!! its been fine ever since! (as long as I dont go over Edinburghs' speed bumps!)
