Hi Ive noticed my start stop system isnt working and car showing high power consumption when i switch the start stop system to on. Doing so even when no air con is on etc. Display even said engine needed to be running evening though it was! Im guessing battery is on its way out?

Yup my mpg always better when spring arrives. Anyway its a brake issue as had someone look today and will know more tomorrow

Theres no heat or smell coming from opposite side just drivers side.

Appears that it might be something to do with the brakes as the drivers side front wheel is warm and can smell oike something is burning after a small drive.

My 2014 1.6 diesel doing similar and noticed a higher fuel consumption so wondering if i have an issue with the dpf however no warning light and my car is at 194k. My mechanic was like yours when questioned him about the higer fuel consumption. Kinda out it down to age of car depsite me getting good mpg prior to service. Fan didn't come on today despite doing small journeys but mpg was only 33 where other times mpg has been 50or so

I have a 2014 diesel octavia estate 1.6 blk edition. Lately, and since service my mpg is alot lower than normal. I understand my car is old but recently ive noticed im using more fuel. Ive asked my usual mechanic and hes replied with the expected answer i thought hed suggest which is weather, tyres, speed, fuel prices and that mpg is never ro be trusted. Im not taking fuel prices into consideration as im seeing my fuel being used up more. Mpg today has been 34,on a route i normally use and get 55mpg. I use the car everyday to commute to work using same route and speed and definitely see variation in mpg amd fuel consumption. Any tips or ideas?

For the last 2 winters my wipers have been playing up. Sometimes they come on but i have wiggle the wiper joystick alot and quickly and thwy work. Now the intermittent setting has changed to on constant and the the faster action moved to the slower constant setting and not working when on faster setting. Sometimes the windsceeen washer won't work unless i wiggle the joystick alot. Seems to clear up in summer. Guess i need an auto electrician?

I have spoken to someone at Skoda via livechat about cambelt change. They confirmed that on 1st july 2023 their interval pplicy had changed to a lifetime one and cambelt should be changed after 15yrs or 140k-160k miles. I had my belt changed in 2019 aft 88k miles and currently sit at 157k so hence why i enquired. They ensured me that i dont need to change my belt til i had done 140k miles from when i changed my belt in 2019. 🤔

I have a white black edition octavia estate and after car wash the guys freaked out and said something had happened to my wheels and that they had changed colour! They now appear to look like the colour has faded. The owner said uts never happened before and he spoke to the manufacturer of the cleaning stuff and they said my wheels couldnt have been lacquered 🤔. The owner spent most of today polishing the wheels and managed to get one nearly back to what they looked like. Ive also noticed the roof rail bars look faded too! Ive uploaded a couple of pics. The faded one is the drivers side front and the blacker one is the nearside rear. Both offside wheels look more faded. Any help would be appreciated

My octavia estate interior light does not come on when i unlock open or close car and doors anymore. The interior lights work when you press the buttons. Any ideas?

Hi i need to replace my rear washer nozzle and its located in the taillight on top of the boot below the spoiler. Do i need to replace the tail light unit or can i just get a new nozzle? Thanks in advance

My infotainment systems controller has packee up according skoda and they have quoted me £1400 for a new one! Does anyone kniw what i could do ie buy a second hand one and who would fit it as skoda said they wouldnt.
