  1. Morning all I've just replaced my car battery yesterday and was wondering if the battery needs to be coded to the vehicle. I've gone from a 68ah to a 70ah battery (both varta). If so why and how would I go about this process. Thanks in advance
  2. Hi all quick update I stripped the boot lid from all the plastic trim panels and poured water onto the back of the car. I found that the water was getting into the car behind the third brake light - the foam seal had perished. I took the brake light out cleaned everything up and removed the perished seal. I have now put a thin bead of CT1 clear sealant onto the aperture then refitted the brake light unit back and waited for it to cure. So will see if this cures the leak
  3. Thanks for the pic I'll take a look tomorrow in daylight.
  4. Thanks for the reply I may well give this ago sounds like a very good idea. Please can you you post a pic it would be very much appreciated. The water in mine seems to sit on top of the rubber seal then finds it way in. Hi no don't have either
  5. Thanks for the reply I will strip out the plastic when I get a chance and see if theres any adjustment
  6. Thanks for the reply not sure if the boot stops need adjusting or how I would do that. Not sure if the car has had a bump or not only had it a few months I've checked all the boot floor and seems original to the vehicle would you happen to know if the lock keep is adjustable to help pull the boot a bit tighter to the rubber seal?
  7. Thanks for the reply, its definitely not screen wash as the car hadn't been used after I changed the seal.
  8. Evening all, I have a mk3 octavia estate. I've had an issue over the last week or so with water getting into the boot, I've noticed that the water collects on top of the rubber seal (only when it is raining) on both the near side and off side then it finds it's way into the spare wheel well. I have changed the rubber seal for a genuine brand new seal thinking it was faulty/damaged. This has made no difference. So was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where to start looking to carry out repairs or if anyone has had this problem how did you sort it out. Thanks in advance.
  9. I have a mk3 estate 2014 plate. I've noticed that water tends to drip from the boot lid when it's in the open position. Not sure if water is collecting behind the trim when it's in the closed position. Water also collects on the bottom of the seal and trim panel resulting in a bit of water collecting in the spare tyre well. Does anyone have any thoughts on repairs
  10. Just a quick update for anyone who is having the same problem. I took down the front light assembly above the rear view mirror and inspected the circuit board. I found that the solder was missing around the rocker switch connections. All soldered now and working as it should be.
  11. Thanks for the pdf I'll check it out over the weekend and keep you posted
  12. Thanks for the thread. After closer inspection mine doesn't relock by itself and each door I open shows up on the display individually so am at a bit of a loss at the moment
  13. Hi I have a problem with my 2014 1.6 tdi Octavia. I can turn on the heating/cooling fans and have put the setting on the "strong" setting but there is no air coming out if the vents. I have tried calibrating the vents via the a/c button and the face vent button but still nothing. Also I've noticed that one of the LEDs on the fan selector doesn't work. Can anyone shed any light on these issues. Thanks in advance
  14. Thanks for the reply where would I look to find the microswitch
  15. Hi just wondering if you got this problem sorted out as I've just scanned my car and have got the same code. I have a 2014 octavia 1.6tdi. Thanks in advance
