  1. I assume that the dates will change again, so I'm not holding my breath! If there is any secret, I'm not sure what it is, unless Skoda UK spotted that I've ordered £70k worth of cars and that had some away! 😁🤣
  2. OBD Eleven now has the unlock facility for all modules. It allows optional items to be switched on and off etc. I've had the wife's Scala connected and there is a lot that can be changed. I have the OBD Eleven Mk 2 with Pro package. It's worth every penny and much better than the competition!
  3. It shows a message "Downloading Updates" on the screen. As far as I remember (I could be wrong) it updates everything other than the main ECU. I've just noticed one on my wife's Scala! It's updated the UI and setting screens etc! It's also added the calendar, and other functionality to the infotainment side. It's just getting good as it's time to swap again! Her new car should be build week 4, which is the same week as my Octavia vRS 2.0 tfsi DSG Wagon!
  4. I spoke to the dealer yesterday and I've been given a week 4 build for my Octavia vRS, revised forward from week 8. The biggest shock is that my wife's Scala wasn't due until August/ September and it's now apparently also build week 4!!!
  5. That's fantastic. I see that you opted for the Diamondbrite paint treatment. 👍😁
  6. I agree. Hopefully we don't get to that point! It would only end in sorrow! 😁
  7. Early July for me and so far I've been given three build weeks! I'd have been less frustrated if I had been told nothing! They do say ignorance is bliss! 😁
  8. I've had a long relationship with my local dealer since my wife's MK1 Fabia when I had a Mitsubishi. My parents first brand new car was a Skoda 110R and they bought that, because my grandfather had a 100R at the time and we had so many happy memories of family holidays all ove the country when I was small. My father-in-law has a Skoda Fabia MK2 Auto that he refuses to part with, so our history goes back somewhat! Our local dealer have worked hard, very hard over the years to get me in to a vRS and I've had a number of iterations to test drive!. My order of an Octavia vRS Wagon 2,0 TSI DSG, is locked in and I'm happy to wait, however if Skoda decide to change the spec for my wife's car, then I have no brand loyalty at all. She can keep her current Scala SEL and I'll order her an Ioniq 5 Premium or whatever other car she likes and we'll just drop the brand! No big shakes for her and nothing lost to me! Remember the customer is not always right, however they always have the choice of where their money is spent! It's a case of seller's market at the moment, however many a big brand has been lost for ever to bravado, machismo and complacency!
  9. I don't know about Skoda Poland, however Skoda UK set a date of 1st December for the price and specification change and an increase in % rates for Skoda finance. We got our orders in prior to this date for that very reason and to secure our chosen specification. I ordered my Octy vRS Wagon 2.0 TSI DSG (with most options ticked) back in July and the replacement for my wife's Scala SEL with most options (Scala Monte Carlo again with most options) back in November. Due to the money we spend, we have very regular contact with the dealer, however I have no expectation of any special treatment!
  10. That was my thought also. My dealer said that current delays are due to the factory clearing the backlog, which makes total sense. I'm not at all happy that I'm seeing cars ordered after my car, that are now being delivered, however these are unusual times and it's worth noting that there are around 4 months worth of backlog orders. Each one of those orders represent one of us and they should all be taking priority!
  11. There is a phrase that says: "Fools go where angels fear to tread"! It's less about the warranty, than my need for a reliable car; one that doesn't leave me stranded on a motorway hard shoulder! Remember that a quick driver doesn't need a quick car and the lovely Sabine Schmitz (bless her sole) proved that point nicely! I'm way to old and wise to jumping straight on the "must have more power" train; that is, before everyone else has ironed out the wrinkles! I understand the MK4 vRS is delivered "factory fresh" with enough software issues to gain an invite to the Skoda UK, 2022 staff Christmas Party! 🎉🎊🎉 ........and my plan is to lay the basic groundwork for a power upgrade over the next 3 or so years; I also have a 2012 JCW for seat of the pants Sunday fun and track time, so I have no rush! 😃👍 If the aim alone was to have more power, then I'd have ordered a new Golf R, Audi S3 or RS3 etc. or purchased a second hand Maserati that can be had for less cash, however I don't, so I didn't! Refering back to the start of my post, there is also a phrase: "Who dares Wins"!, so take your pick and I'll stick to my plan, cheers! LOL👍😉
  12. I'm working in the theory that if it hasn't broken by the end of the warranty then it probably won't however if something does go wrong, VAG have no excuse to knock me back for a repair!
  13. I'd be interested to know if anyone finds out for sure. I have older ears though, so I don't really need high volume, I need high quality!
  14. I'm looking forward to the day it's out of factory warranty. I was told that basically other than the tune, the only difference between the Occy 4 vRS and the Dub R engine setup is the size of the turbo and breather tubes! 😱🤪😁
  15. Maybe this is one of those situations.where it's best to say no more comments from anyone and hope that we can do it via the codeing. If we can't, then hopefully we can go old school and buy the rear light from the other market and figure it out! Nothing is impossible! Ever.......The end.....😁 Thanks everyone for your opinions etc. Love to all, peace and harmony! Moderator. Please delete anything that isn't some form of update or helpful suggestion from here in. Many thanks 😁👍
  16. I'm going DSG as due to an injury, I can't drive manual or hard suspension for any distance. I need a Semi-automatic for day to day and a sophisticated suspension for long distance driving, hence the DCC. I'm keeping the Mini to remind me what real driving was! I wish I'd kept my 1275 GT back in the day! 😇😁
  17. I'm not overly worried about the whole situation, however I'm also worried about how it's going with the overly woke climate brigade. I currently have a Mini Clubman JCWbl with 59k on the clock, that owes me nothing and I'm keeping for a while longer whilst running the new one in (or a bit longer! 😁). No doubt I'll end up on EV, however the maximum milage per charge isn't sufficient at the moment for my needs! Even so, I'm keeping this one until it's a Musium piece, so I'll probably be the oldest rebel in town!!! 😁🤣🤣🤣
  18. Congratulations on the new arrival. Just in time for New Year too. Happy New Year! 😁👍
  19. I can imagine exactly how you describe. If I remember rightly the lower part of the upper front grill on a Mk2 BMW Mini fitted In a similar fashion. There was just enough flex to get a flat bar down inside the grill and depress the tongue to remove! At least you can unscrew the top on that one! That's a real pain in the ∆£$€! 😐
  20. I'm sure that this will be part of the codeing list eventually. I'm the same with regard to the fog lights, however as I've found with my wife's car; 2 reversing lights or a night vision adapted rear camera, would be greatly appreciated! Both are not outside the realms of cost or technology these days!
  21. I have a set of Solarplexius tint panels waiting behind the sofa. I placed my order and had them delivered via DHL from Sweden within 2 days! Just need a car to fit them to now! 😁
  22. I've changed a few grills on different cars over the years. They usually have obvious fixings at the top and hidden fittings near the bottom. The usual method it to remove the top fixings and then just pull up gently to unlock the bottom fixings. I wouldn't have thought that the bumper would need removing, as that would require a reset of the parking sensors etc! Mind you, look at how many small (read cheap) cars need the bumper removing to change a headlamp bulb!!! It would be interesting to know though, as I want to tinker when my car finally arrives!
  23. I've read this thread with interest and because of all of the positive posts, I've just ordered my OBD Eleven Pro with 400 credits ( 200 + 200 promotional), ready for my new Octavia in the new year. Interestingly, I saved a few quid by buying direct at £90.14 (Amazon £119.99) and that was with Amazon delivery included at £5.90!!! 😁 I had a generic ELM 327 for years and upgraded to Carista to switch a load of options on for my wife's 62 plate Scala. Hopefully the OBD 11 will be my last upgrade of this type!
  24. Going by my experience, the build date can be given and then taken away! The phrase that my dealer used, was that my latest build week had been "accepted at the factory" and has a confirmed Build slot! I hope so, however I'm not holding my breath! I actually feel sorry for the decent car dealers out there. I've known the team at my dealer for many years and live around the corner to the sales manager. I always get a good deal and really well looked after. They are genuinely tearing there hair out with the lack of information from Skoda UK.
  25. ...........I was also informed that any car order not accepted by Skoda before 1st December 2021 would be of the reduced spec, higher price etc.... Looking at the delete list that they had, it was items like heated windscreens, rear window winders, multi zone aircon, electric seats, heads up displays, kick to open boot etc that would be removed! So annoying, however not the end of the world!
