Reading the owners manual the other day for my 2018 Karoq SEL I came across some info about the car alarm : "The alarm system has its own power source, service life of which is 5 years. In order to ensure functionality of the alarm system, we recommend that you get the alarm checked after this time by a specialist garage." Does anyone know if this power source can be changed easily and where on the car it is ? I've never heard of this before but assumed (wrongly I guess) that it was the vehicle main battery which powered the alarm. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I see that the files from this update are smaller than previous ones. Is it due to more efficient data format or are some data missing ? Also, have you had any feedback on this new issue ? Always grateful for your efforts on this and thank you once again !

No "Mit Silikat" stamped on my coolant reservoir. Just a book/manual icon and "G13" (for type of antifreeze). Can't see anything resembling a bag inside the reservoir either. Am assuming no silica bag then. 2018 Karoq SE L 1.5TSi.

Can anyone confirm the change interval for the air filter on a 1.5 TSI DSG Karoq 2018. The Skoda site appears to require it to be replaced at 6 years/60k miles.

Cambelt at 5yrs or 50k miles has been removed from the maintenance schedule on the Skoda UK website.

I have Michelin Primacy 3 (fitted to new car) and at 4yrs Mot advisory on tyre cracking after only 10k miles. MOT tester said it was very common even with more expensive tyres. Many experiences described online. Some associate it with low mileage stopping good mixing of anti-aging components in the tyre. Possibly but not convinced. I believe it’s due to the use of micro plastics as a filler in the tyre replacing some of the carbon black used. Micro plastics have been found to be the #1 polluter of londons roads - not exhaust emissions.

I also have copies of all the map files since the car was new (MY18) so I could try each update since then and see if the traffic info returns.

I have the same device part and hardware numbers as Tazdaz but a different software number. Can I assume mine is MIB2std Amundsen ? I updated my maps in June so different software number is expected.

Just tried above method again and it worked !!! Don’t know what happened before.

Didn’t work for me (Amundsen in Karoq SEL MY18). I press the chevron button but it then starts to calculate routes. No option to edit and then delete a single destination. Could be very slightly different software ?

Any theories as to why Skoda has changed this cambelt recommendation so dramatically ?

My traffic info on my Amundsen stopped only this year. I updated my maps in December replacing the one I’d downloaded from the Skoda site. I was surprised at even getting traffic info up to last year as my Karoq is 2018.

Thanks for that. My Surrey dealership would probably argue that they would be charging a lot more (£500 more) due to “regional differences”.
