  1. I have B6 on my Superb (non Sportline) and it totally cured the lack of body control the OEM dampers had. Specially in motorways at high speeds the car feels very stable and nice to drive. Not sporty at any means, but I didn't want to change springs and lose comfort, ride height and deal with homologations, certifications, etc to have it road legal. I remember that B6 work with OEM springs and slightly shorter and B8 are for 30 mm dropped suspension. My second car is a Mini with this combo (Eibach+B8) and it's really stiff. Very fun, but too stiff for long distances. It's a toy/fun car so I don't mind.
  2. That's good to hear. Mine is 155.000 so barely broken. Good news, as I plan to own it and drive it many more years and kilometers.
  3. I have an OBD thingy connected 24h/7 since I bought the car in 2018. Never put it out as I like to control the DPF regens with an app when they start and I'm about to leave the car (the car seems to know when I'm going to stop to begin DPF regens lol!). Never had an issue with the battery, I replaced it last year but it was 5 years old.
  4. Yes, I know, mine could be easily removed when changing the cambelt.
  5. I just had my belt changed I removed the silica bag without spliting, so no need to change the reservoir. G12 Evo was used then.
  6. They look really good on this car IMO. What tyre size are your running?
  7. I'll run these tyres for some time but I'll swith to 235/40 R19 or 245/40 R19 which seems a popular choice with 19" wheels. I love how it sits now and they are much more easier to clean!
  8. Probably. But I needed a change and follow my "heart" decision for one time in my life.
  9. Just fitted some Audi RSQ3 wheels (8,5x19 ET36).
  10. Loving the looks of my car now
  11. Hi, After a long time looking for some nice VAG 19" alloys, I finally found a good deal on a set of Audi RSQ3 wheels. Specs are 8,5 x 19 ET36 wrapped with 255/40 R19 tyres. My car was originally fitted with Pegasus Alloys, which are 8x18 ET44. I recon tyres are now too big, I'll test them some time and I will finally fit 245/40 R19 once they're over. Car feels now beautifully planted, as it is combined with a set of Bilstein B6 with OEM springs. The car looks awesome now, a bit too high, but I don't want to lower it for daily use reasons. It now sits as if it had 14,4mm spacers all around. Let me share with you some pics of the before vs. after.
  12. I fitted bilsteins B6 to my 2.0TDI Combi 150hp and changed a lot the body control. It's even more confortable than with OEM suspension, as the rebounds of the stock shocks are terrible for the handling and for the ride quality. I was expecting them to be stiffer but they are not too stiff (wife didn't notice the change much). They control perfectly the body of my car now under bumps and high speed ondulations on the motorway. If I had to do it again, I would maybe at the same time change antiroll bars, to have a more agile handling. But as I'm not racing the Superb, it's fine. In comparison, I also own a Mini Cooper R50 with Bilsteins B8 and Eibach and its REALLY harsh. Very fun to drive, but too stiff for a daily drive. I think the sweet spot is just the Bilsteins B6. If you don't mind losing comfort and also losing ride height (parkings, bumps, etc.), then go for B8+shorter springs.
  13. I fitted B6 a couple of years ago on my 2.0 TDI Combi and I noticed exactly what I wanted: More body control on high speeds but no harshness at all. I was very surprised with that, as I have a Mini R53 fitted with Eibach + Bilstein B8 and it is very fun, but very rigid and harsh, too much for a daily use. It's my weekend toy so this is not a problem. The B6 in the Skoda were, to my surprise, even too soft. I mean my wife didn't even notice something had been changed on the car.
  14. Good, thanks for the tip!
  15. Thanks, I just did a bit of research and mine are also ET44, so they will stick out 9 mm. Will they scrub anywhere?
  16. Hi, I've found a great deal on these Audi wheels for my Skoda Superb 2017. My original wheels are 8x18 with ET 41 I think (pegasus wheels) These Audi wheels are 8x19 ET35, 5x112, 57,1 mm I think they will fit, only thing is that it would be like having 6mm spacers on all wheels, which will make the car look even better IMO. Has anyone similar spec wheels on their superb to see how they fit? Thanks!
  17. Thanks for this post, very useful!!
  18. I have a manual Skoda Superb Combi 2.0 TDI with 150 hp. I think there is no periodicity for oil changes in the manual gearbox, but as I'm getting closer to 150.000 km (90.000 miles) I'm starting to think about changing it. Does anyone know the VW reference number for the oil? And the torque specs for the gearbox oil drain and fill plugs? Thank you!
  19. Just changed my front pads this weekend. Still ok with 130.000 km but was not sure if they had "hardened" over the years/use. I think that they could have lasted 10.000 km more, but just changed them for the peace of mind and because I'll be using my car quite intensively the next months and I want to be sure this will not be an issue. Replaced with a set of TRW pads, 50 € (bought o Amazon). Front right wheel is where the sensor is. Disconnect, connect the new one and you're good to go. And remember to torque the caliper to spec (35 Nm).
  20. Happened to me two years ago with just 90.000 km. Warranty still covered it but totally unacceptable to fail with those km. VAG group should recall these engines as they ALL fail no matter the brand (Skoda, VW, Audi, Seat...) My 2c.
  21. I have 117.000 km on my car (73000 miles) and I'm still running on the original TRW brake pads front and rear. There's still some thread left but I think I'm going to replace them soon but just to make sure, specially the rears, as I don't know if they have a wear sensor. - Do you know if rear brake pads have a wear sensor? - What TRW numbers should be used in a Superb Combi 2.0 TDI manual from 2017? Are those reference numbers OK? TRW - GDB1956 TRW - GDB1957 Thanks in advanced,
  22. Finally I managed to install those lights on my Superb and I can say it's a 'bright' mod, LOL. BTW, I just managed to break the clip of the bowden cable in one of the doors. Once assemblied it unlocks the door from the inside but I fear it can fall appart. Any clue on how to repair it?
  23. I'm running B6 and honestly I expected them to be way harder. Comfort is practicaly the same as OEM, but the body of the car seems to be much more under control.
  24. No idea, but I am interested if anyone finds out. A 3 or 4 cm drop is too much and probably too stiff for this car.
