Radio unit, Parking display acting odd
CozyTony replied to CozyTony's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Update, if anyone ever finds this thread. TL;DR - Updating the radio unit software firmware solved the problem. I tried to find ways to reboot the radio system, because I also noticed that the radio would not turn off, even with ignition off, and leaving the car. This car is fitted with Amundsen, RNS310. I could not find ways to reboot (tried <, >, i combo and power button hold) System software was 0045 I think, so very old. I updated the firmware, to 351 and it began to work like it used to. Currently updating to 357. -
Radio unit, Parking display acting odd

I’ve tried doing a factory reset without success. I don’t believe that there are any settings for these issues. Also tried factory resetting PDC, no effect. -
Hey, Has anyone had this before? Facelift 09” This morning noticed that my parking sensor display does not show up. I can hear it though when in reverse. It functions all well, just without the display. Also noticed that the radio displays time is 2 hours late. So it’s in gmt now. Cockpit shows the correct time which is gmt+2. Also being in reverse, does not make music/radio more quiet like it used to before. Parking lights are working. Also when radio was turned off, it used to show the time. Now it’s all black. What’s happening 🤨

Mine had a similiar sound, but not that loud. One morning the exhaust inspection light came on and took it to a local ”vag specialized” garage. Full timing chain set was changed. Cost was about 990€. After that the rattle stopped. Very common problem in 2009-2012 1.4tsi dsg7.

Thanks, my issue is with P21W and I tried things mentioned there but no success. Also I don’t have a yellow fault light in dashboard

Hey, Today I noticed that one of the bulbs were off in the right backlight, so I changed it to a brand new one. Still not lighting up, others are working as they should be. Do you think that this issues could be solved by changing the holder of the lamps (1Z9945258) or does this kind of behaviour indicate bigger problems? Car is Octavia mk2 facelift 1z5 combi 2009

Medium effort to uplift the look
CozyTony replied to CozyTony's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yes, now I just need to add some sporty stickers and eyes on the windshield so it’s like from Disney Cars! -
After seeing many threads about painting the front grill and debating with myself, this weekend I took the time to do it to my mk2. Never painted anything in my life before so I am pleased with the result as a first timer Also saved a handful of cash when not ordering superskoda parts. Thanks to helpful people of this forum who also shared their projects. Before and After

Facelift DRL to white - help
CozyTony replied to CozyTony's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Yeah, I am aware that LED’s are better. They just aren’t road legal, which is important to me -
Anyone changed DRLs to a white color? I was looking ar this https://www.valley-lighting.co.uk/products/382-p21w-ba15s-limastar-xenon-white-halogen-bulbs-pair Anyone tried? Needs to be ECE approved, but LEDs aren’t..

Hood Bonnet Stay Clip removal
CozyTony replied to CozyTony's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks, flat screwdriver was the right tool. First to avoid scratching the paint I used pliers to make my way and pushed it through the end with the flat screwdriver. Didn’t have to protect the paint either, pliers made it safe to operate, thanks for the help. -
Hey, having issues to remove this part, so I could replace it with a non-broken one. Anyone have experience in doing so? Mk2 1z5 facelift 2009
