  1. How can I find out the model of the alternator I need before actually taking it out so I could check how much would it be, maybe some serial number??
  2. Yeah so first of all my rear window heating stopped working and than dash cam which is connected to rear wiper stopped charging, that made me thinking what was happening but there was no problem with starting the car. And than this message came up so I knew the battery is dead and when I checked the voltage it was 11.3 so it means the alternator wasn't working. And now the alternator is working only sometimes so I'm thinking of a repair if it would be possible because the new one is quite expensive.
  3. It is weird, it looks like sometimes its working fine and sometimes it doesn't.
  4. Hi all, I have a Skoda Octavia 2017 2.0 TDI DSG and I think alternator is paying up. Sometimes the voltage is showing 14.4V but sadly sometimes doesn't work and it's showing 11.3V. What's the best solution to it because I know the price for the new one is quite high. Thanks for your help.
  5. Hello, I have a Skoda Octavia 2017 and this button started flashing recently. Any idea why this might be?? Sorry if there was such a post before but I couldn't find anything. Thanks for help.
  6. Since then there was no issue, there was no fault on the dash so unfortunately I can't do much at the moment. The worst bit is that the warranty runs out in February and that is probably when the fault might come out and then I will have to pay for the fix because it won't be covered by the warranty anymore.
  7. I have phoned a dealer and they said without the diagnostic which cost £100 they cannot say anything, they can't say if it's my fault or if it's manufacturer fault and it would be covered by the warranty So now I have to think about if I want to risk it and hope it's their fault so it could be replaced under warranty or pay £100 just for a diagnostic and the potentially for a labour.
  8. Hi all, have you ever had any problem with your background lighting. Mine stopped working today on passenger side, all the others works, and also doesn't work in light blue, blue, purple and pink, all the other colours works. The car is still under used car manufacturer warranty, do you think that would be covered?? Any suggestions please, I don't like when something doesn't work properly where it should. The others 3 are working fine
  9. So basically they know about that fault and it would be replaced under the warranty but they can't do it because there is no fault in the history. Is there anything I can do to store that fault in the history of it come up again on the dash board??
  10. Hi, I have just picked the car up from the dealer, it went there for a check up regarding the fault, unfortunately they couldn't find the fault, I had to pay £96 for a diagnostics and the problem isn't fixed. I thought the fault would be stored in the history but they said it wasn't and couldn't see an issue. If I knew the fault isn't stored in the history I wouldn't even start the case because basically I have paid £96 for car being there and nothing being done, car is still under the warranty anyway. What are your thoughts??
  11. We shall see, so far so good, can't say a bad thing about it but i have only wanted the basic one that has a Full HD, didn't fancy any 4K or Alexa features etc as i knew I woudn't use them, hopefully it will last a bit. Good luck with your next one and leave some feedback how did it go.
  12. Fitted, quite a straight forward job, it works fine, thank you all for your comments.
