  1. Hi all. My bulb warning light has now come on twice. Vehicle status says to check left rear brake light. The first time it went off before I had chance to check. This time it was still on when I got home so I checked and the brake lights were ok, but the warning light was still on. It has now cleared again. Any ideas?
  2. Cheers mannyo. I tried to connect my wifes Sony Ericsson today but that was incompatible too. I'll just borrow everyones phone who comes to visit until I get one to connect. Thanks again.
  3. Hi mannyo. So if I connect the wifes phone I'll then be able to delete both pairings, or will I be in the same position only with a different phone? I've got a feeling that's what you're saying, right?
  4. Hi all. Bluetooth/phone.Is there any way to switch it off, or at the very least stop it from searching for the previous owners phone? Mine's a HTC desire so I can't connect it without that modification, which I'm not bothered about. I've tried in all the settings I can find with no luck. The phone section in Columbus set up is just blank apart from connect phone (I think). I know it's only one press on the steering wheel back button to clear it but I just wish it didn't look in the first place. Thanks. Jan 2009 Elegance 170.
  5. Neither can I think of a valid reason as to why op would want to disable this feature.
  6. There's a thread here discussing that very subject http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/188801-dsg-overheating-warnings/
  7. Now, the 'simply feel like a change' reason makes far more sense! I've had 8 new/nearly new cars in 6 years And I'm still married
  8. Don't be expecting too much. I got £16.2k for my 58 plate with 8k miles, just over a year ago. I only got rid of mine for personal reasons. Tbh, as nice as the 3.6 superb is, I can't think of any advantages over the Legend. If you were swapping for something more economical then yes, but otherwise I'd keep what you've got. I still wish I could have kept mine even now. Just think about it and don't rush your decision.
  9. Just returned from test drive and pleased to report all back to normal. Changing up at all the correct speeds again and no fans. Such a relief! Thinking allsorts, dodgy box, siezing engine etc.. Thanks everyone. PM spectrum? Bill?
  10. Well, Skoda assist just left. Impressive, really seemed to know his stuff. Straight away on hearing symptoms he went to dpf. Said its either clogged due to short trips, and unable to regenerate, or faulty sensor. Hooked up to laptop which showed 174mg (of whatever ) even at idle, when it should have shown only a few. He replaced the sensor and retested, when it showed 3mg estimated and 0mg actual. He then performed a forced regeneration (i watched it take over and do all the revving up and stuff). He also explained that the reluctance to change up gear was it trying to heat up the exhaust to the temp needed to regenerate, and the fans going is all linked. Hopefully all's well now. Spectrum = mr dpf
  11. My point about normal running temperature was that I don't think it should have warmed up quite so quickly, almost as if it had warmed up because the engine had been fighting against some sort of retardation. Anyway, just waiting for Skoda assist to attend as the dealer said I'd be able to get a hire car if they had to take it away. Ps, would a symptom of the DPF problem be a struggling engine?
  12. Following on from my 9 days electric windows repair, it's back to the dealers first thing in the morning. On the way home on Friday I had thought that something just felt a little different. It's only about 2 miles/5 mins home but when I parked up it was already up to normal temperature. When I took the key out the cooling fans were racing and didn't go off until after about 5 mins after I switch off and on a couple of times. Yesterday it felt like the gearbox was struggling somehow. It was taking longer than usual to change up into 4/5/6. It wasn't going into 4 until well into the 30s no matter how gentle I was and even 40 wasn't seeing 5. This morning the exhaust thing light is on and after a quick read here I went back to check and sure enough its in limp mode and 2500 max rpm. Worried. :'(
  13. Got it back this afternoon. Apparently all 3 door switches were corroded inside. They said they suspect that the windows had all been left open in the rain at some time. :S
  14. I mentioned that imo it would be too much of a coincidence for 3 motors to all go at once. He said it had been a last resort. They said they had checked the coding. I had said that I had come across a similar problem on here and it turned out it had had a towbar had been fitted and incorrectly coded in. Mine had a towbar removed, at my request, prior to collecting the car, and I suggested checking it had been 'de-coded'. Nope, not that they said. I'll call in tomorrow and see what's happening and mention what you said. Thanks mannyo.
  15. Hi all. I've only had my 2009 Superb Elegance for a month. Last Wednesday it went in for some warranty work. The electric windows all work from drivers switch but none from their own switches. I was told that it could take a day or two to trace the fault but they've had it 9 days now. I called them on Tuesday. They said they were struggling to find the fault. They had changed the 3 motors (yeah, that's what I thought :S) but had now run out of ideas and that Skoda technical were trying to help them. Is there anything I can do to try to speed things along? I feel so helpless. It wouldn't be worth taking it back and trying another dealer? 9 days does seem an awfully long time to fix electric windows.
  16. Thanks stef, yeah I thought it might be that. Still can't see where the 'comf' bit comes into it tho :S
  17. Sorry mannyo, I don't get it? You mean like when you flash your headlights at someone? Also, it's only on or off. What's on and what's off? Edit: or do you mean like when you change lanes, say on the mway, ie, one or three flashes? Yeah, I think that'll be it. But wtf? Where does the 'comf' bit come into it, lol?
  18. What's 'Comf. Indic.'? I agree with chucker, the manual gives a very limited explanation of the adjustment functions.
  19. Where's that Ray? I don't recall seeing bluetooth anywhere in the MFD settings.
  20. You're right. Mine has no setup/telephone option either. Sorry to hijack op but I've a similar (same?) problem. I've only had mine a week but the last few days upon starting the car, the first thing the MFD does is try to connect to the last owners nokia phone. I'm sure it didn't do that when i first got it. I don't use my phone in the car. Is there any way to stop it trying to connect to the/any phone?
  21. I'll sign up when I get my 7 digit postcode entry working
  22. Yes, the dealer confirmed the visual difference as being only the red 'i' and red 'di'. He also said the difference in engines is just a different ecu and different software (map?). Anyway, now I'm trying to suss out the rear windows. They won't open open on their own door switch. I've tried the isolate switch thingy on the drivers door, and the switch lit or unlit makes no difference. :( There's nowt in the MFD is there?
