  1. Hi I got a skoda fabia 1.4 petrol mk1 2005 My boot switch didn't work so i installed one the realized i got no solenoid or a wire connection anywhere in the loom and its not been cut off is there anyway i can add one as the only way to open the boot is with the manual pull handle from inside the car which is doing my nut in due to me being a delivery driver so have to open it 100 of times Thanks
  2. Hi I got a skoda fabia 1.4 16v 2005. I'm a delivery driver after 2 hours of driving around delivering food my car starts to makes a squeaky sound from drivers side. I can't see anything under the car but I touched the near side inner drive shaft and its hot but can keep my hand on it but the off side inner drive shaft is so hot I can't keep my hand on it. I did replace this 2 years ago. The person who put it on for me didn't tourqe the nuts properly they came loose lost some grease I tourqed them up properly myself can this be the problem because it lost some grease. Thanks
  3. Not good news then I did speak to the previous owner who bought the car brand new and never changed the exhaust he only replaced the flexi part with a universal one
  4. Ok thanks and I did here somewhere that even some original catalytic converters don't have oem numbers on them but I'm no expert
  5. It looks like the second one you sent me but unfortunately can't find any numbers on it apart from the ones I said earlier but I did email a company which I later realized was in America anyway sent the pics and told them it got no number on it they still valued it at $20 for the small one and $263 for the big one. I think i need to sand them till they shiny incase there is numbers hiding underneath somewhere and yea of course you can have 10% 👍👍
  6. Hi everyone I got 2 catalytic converters from a skoda fabia 1.4 16v 2005 bky engine I wanted to sell it but there is no oem number on it apart from 542-013x which people say it doesn't exist on the catalytic converter database. I have sanded the rust off to see if I can see any oem numbers but only found the ones I mentioned above anyone with any idea
  7. Update good news my car passed its mot and it was the catalytic converter not the 02 sensor. And had to replace the exhaust sleeve as it was 100% rust lol Thanks for every one's help 👍👍👍👍
  8. Had exactly the same thing bought a aftermarket catalytic converter for £90 from eBay problem solved make sure you get the exhaust sleeve aswell as they get really rusted
  9. You have to go to people who only buy Catalytic converters (google it) as they give you alot more got offered £50 for one then went to a place forgot its name but they only buy Catalytic converters and got £110 for it now you see how much scrap yards really make. Its good money as now you see places like euro parts, sdl and many more starting to buy your old car parts or give you money off parts you buying off them
  10. I got someone to come out to check the car and confirmed its a bad catalytic converter and i found a car breakers who is willing to give me a catalytic converter and said if it passes the mot I pay £50 for the catalytic converter but if it fails he take it back with no charge so got a good deal plus mot guy said he will do the mot for free as well 😀 Will Update after mot Thanks for everyone's help
  11. Ok I go get it tomorrow i miss placed the one he gave me
  12. What will make it run rich and what do I have to check
  13. Ok thanks do you think its worth buying the one from eBay? If not have to look for someone who's breaking the same car
  14. 2bh not really sure but there's abit of petrol smell and when I put my foot on the accelerater water comes out like a mug full
  15. Yea thats true only way to find out is to just buy the exhaust and go from there
