Scrap value, full exhaust inc cat?

Featured Replies

Hi, I've replaced my full original exhaust system with a stainless steel piper one.

Does anyone know what I might expect to get back from the scrappy for it?

It's all genuine skoda, removed from my vrs.

Cheers,

Kev.

Bout £15-20 for cat rest is just scrap value maybe a pound if lucky

I've had £35 alone for a downpipe with cat in from a salvage place.  Even paid me to post it.  Has to be original cat though as aftermarket ones tend to have no precious metals in them.

That's not too bad, thanks for the response :)

I got £30 just for the cat :)

The rest was worth rock all, which was expected.

That brings my exhaust replacement cost down to £780 :D

What condition is the backbox in?

Back box condition was ok but pipe from centre section had sheared right off, flush with the box.

It's in the scrappies now though.

Ah well...£200 for a new one!

You have to go to people who only buy  Catalytic converters (google it) as they give you alot more got offered £50 for one then went to a place forgot its name but they only buy Catalytic converters and got £110 for it now you see how much scrap yards really make. Its good money as now you see places like euro parts, sdl and many more  starting to buy your old car parts or give you money off parts you buying off them
