  1. Stealth car is my mantra, nothing too shouty so I'm less likely to be bothered by the local plod
  2. Thats my blonde moment then... Are there any better bulbs that I can get hold of then? That won't make the car illegal? Under the impression that aftermarket HIDs aren't legal
  3. Max HP for minimum cash? I have a baby on the way mate, have zero money to spend hahaha
  4. ... i had projectors on my 350Z that weren't yellow lights... am I getting confused about what projector lights are? I want whiter lights. The yellow looks **** with the LED DRLs
  5. A smidge jealous of this build..
  6. Hi everyone, Has anyone fitted the projector headlights from Superskoda to their vrs? Wondered what they look like. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/FABIA-II/Fabia-II-Facelift-MONTE-CARLO-projector--headlights-OEM-Skoda-Autoas-RHD-UKNZAUIND
  7. See, I have absolutely no issue changing plugs every 10k miles. Its what I did in my 350Z because that used to eat spark plugs. The actual procedure went well, so I have no problem keeping on top of it. I don't trust garages to change spark plugs, so I'll just do interims for them and do the plugs and filters myself
  8. Also, guide says 10mm socket, mine was a 16mm socket? Lol
  9. My dad has the gauge set which I used last night to check the new ones. They were all 0.8 i think if I remember correctly. Haven't checked the old ones i have little history. So no idea how long they've been in. Engine is only 15k miles old though, so potentially, they're the first set
  10. All done, took my time and followed the guide. No issues at all. What do we think of the old ones? Left to right as you look at the engine
  11. Didn't get around to the spark plugs today, by the time the engine was cool enough to work on this evening I realised I was running out of light and there were various tubes in the way of plug #1. On that though, any tips for getting access to plug #1? Do I need to remove all of those hoses?
  12. Oil is still above the hatched area, is still a golden colour, albeit, not as clean as it was obviously. I filled the coolant at the same time too, that is also still at the max level. All good?
  13. So guys, my VRS is just approaching the 1000miles since its service mark. I drive mostly stop start with the occasional long trip thrown in. I don't drive really hard, but I do tend to accelerate hard from the lights (once the engine is at 90°C of course) Going to check the oil this morning and hopefully if the weather sticks, the spark plugs will be changed tomorrow. Would be fair to assume that its not an oil burner if the oil levels look good yes?
  14. Are we pretending that the standard engine doesn't run on high boost anyway for a 1.4? Lol
  15. Real question: is it worth what you paid for it?
  16. They're 300 something for the box and fit yourself. The figure I saw was smaller than that though. Would be interesting to see how its split over the 7 settings.
  17. Sounds expensive. Still passes emissions ok and stuff? On a sidenote, do you know any decent garages around with a dyno?
  18. Not sure, TDI tuning boxes are a brand so could be any engine. On a personal level, I want to squeeze more from mine, but really don't at the same time haha
  19. I think the general consensus is to avoid them and go for a proper map, seens as a map will look at your engine and tune it appropriately, rather than just tune what the engine *should* be like. If you go ahead and use this though, I would love to know where you're at after about 6 months with it? Someone has to take the plunge, might actually be a good solution. Personally, I'm too anxious about the twincharger to upset it. My big risk was buying one, nevermind trying to squeeze more out of it hahaha
  20. Must've been you then haha, what system do you have?
  21. Where's that popcorn gif...
  22. Just invoke your 14 day return policy and see if you can get it mapped for the same price. These lads know what they're talking about, so I would trust them
  23. Errr, I honestly don't remember the colour of the car. It was on a council estate in Oldham
  24. I live on a massive council estate. Its fine hahah
  25. Yeah well... i drove past one the other day and it sounded mint. So the envy is winning at the moment. And surely a new exhaust won't turn it into an oil burner will it? Haha
