ODB11 has built in apps you can use but i don’t use them as i worry about what it might change without me knowing. I just look up how to do it online and then change the relevant values but you have to be sure on what you’re doing before you change anything. I looked into the activation key and like you i decided i wasn’t paying the money. I’m not sure i’d use either. I have been buying from an online place called Cloverdale parts and they have been brilliant at helping me order the right parts. I use a russian forum called drive2 which is excellent for retrofitting stuff to the Rapid. They are really helpful but you will need a translator installed. Cheers Nath

Sorry forgot to add that light assist is basically auto lights. Mine is an SE Sport but i got it about a year old so it didn’t have all the options I would have wanted on there so I have been researching, gathering parts and installing them myself. Iv found it hard with the Rapid as not many about. I really want the false boot floor but have had to lower my spending after my wife had an accident in the other car. Id be interested to see what it is like on lowered springs. I find the ride a b too harsh as it is. Too many pot holders round here.

Hi there, the needle sweep I coded using ODB11. Iv found it quite useful on the whole but I think I will buy the RossTech VCDS cable soon as long coding is a bit hairy in ODB11. I added the bonnet insulation because it looked like there was something missing. I hoped the engine might warm a bit quicker in the winter and it might be a bit quieter but in all honesty I’d be lying if I said I had noticed any improvement. But it does look better when the bonnet is up :)

Forgot to add I also have the grill which will be installed to cover the heater hole under the bonnet which leaves the motor exposed to leaves etc.

Sounds good. I have a 2016 SE Sport. So far I have done the following if you need inspiration. Dash Cam Soft close grab handles OEM reverse camera with washer OEM Bonnet insulation Monte Carlo D Shape steering wheel Coded needle sweep Original USB ports in rear of armrest Retractable bumper cover Rubber matts and rear tunnel cover Boot mat Spare wheel kit Hooks on both sides of the boot Plastic compartments on both side of the boot First aid kit in strap above wheel arch Warning Triangle in the space below boot lip. Mudflaps Washer bottle top to rubber with built in funnel I have the OEM parts ready to add the following when I get a moment. ambient lighting under dash and rear seats Light assist / Rain wipers Speed limiter function Springs in rear brakes- not sure what improvement they will bring. Something to do with making the handbrake less likely to stick

Just to help anyone else. The empty bracket for the passenger side is already there in most Spacebacks. The drivers side is more tricky. The part for the driver side bracket in LHD is 6JB858023A. I think the bracket for RHD is 6JC858023A. If you wanted to add footwell lights under the rear seats: 8E0 947 113 A6PS. If you wanted to add the light to the centre console the part for that is 7P6 919 390 AKT1 or 7P6 919 390 KW2. Cheers Nath

Hi all, I need to extend the factory washer pipe in my tailgate. I think the type of pipe is the same in all the cars and appears to be corrugated. Can you buy the pipe and cut it down or is it more complicated then that? Does anyone know the part number for the pipe? Are the connectors easy to put on or are special tools needed? Iv been having trouble finding the exact stuff online. Thanks in advance of any support given. Nath

Just for closure and to help anyone else retrofitting a camera with wash function you do not have to remove spoiler. Use a wide flat wedge shaped plastic spatula and push it into the light starting from the top right. Look for the plastic clips and push above them to release the light.When you push the spatula in the light moves downwards and this slowly releases it. Eventually it will come loose at the top and you will be able to pull it out.

Thanks for this information. Your web site is very useful. I am trying to fit them to a Spaceback and no one seems to have done it before. I thought the front empty holes for the lamp would be there already but I can see that you had to make your own brackets on the Fabia so I am guessing it is the same..

Has anyone got a spaceback or rapid with OEM footwell lights / ambient lighting? If so would you possibly do me a favour and take a photo of where the lights are as i can’t see any holes on mine where they would be mounted. Thanks in advance of any help.

The timing belt change interval caught me out. I bought a Rapid Spaceback 1.2 TSI 110. It will be 4 in November and has only done 15k. Skoda told me the belt isn't due until it is 5 years old though. My last car was a Fiesta which I had for near on 17 years and only had to change the belt once when it was 10 years old. Skoda have quoted around 500ish for the belt when it is due.

Does anyone have oem footwell lighting in their car? If so would you do me a favour and post a picture of where the lights are in the front and rear. In particular the driver side one? I cant seem to find the locations to retrofit. Thanks in advance of any help.

Have you also had to drill the painted part of the bumper to install the parking sensors or are they all in the black plastic? Looks great by the way.

Anyone able to share a technical image of the Oem Reverse Camera setup in a Rapid Spaceback. Specifically I’m looking for an image that shows how the camera connects to the washer system so that it cleans the camera when the rear window washer is used. I’d also like to see where the OEM loom joins the main wiring harness as it appears to split sometime after the fuse box F14 and i can’t work out where the connector is. None of the diagrams I have seen so far show it. Kind regards

Looks great. What else have you in mind? Maybe retrofit the fog lights in the lower grill.

Thanks for the reply. The car came with an umbrella storage under the passenger seat and sort of a shelf/tray under the driver side for the hi vis vest. I just wondered if the cubby underneath the fabia seats would fit the rapid so i could fit one. If the umbrella holder fits between the rapid and fabia you would think the cubby would as well.

Anyone know how to remove the high level brake light ? Looked at the workshop manual and I can’t lever it like it says because the spoiler is in the way on the SE Sport.

Also does anyone know which side of the car the loom would have been ran if it was factory fitted. Kind regards

Hi all, I have just had delivered the genuine parts for the low line camera including loom, washer pipe and camera for the Spaceback. I have the instructions for the coding etc but not for connecting the washer pipe up. I am guessing it tees off the jet located in the brake light. Has anyone done this on the Spaceback? I don't think the 522 would fit behind the rear view mirror on the Spaceback so not sure if it would be possible on the Fabia. Have you noticed any DAB interference from the rear camera? Hi, has anyone fitted the underseat Fabia storage boxes into a Rapid/Spaceback?Just wondered if they will fit. I have the brolly storage under the passenger seat and some sort of shelf under the driver seat which is where i would like to put one. That’s true. I have parking mode disabled. The car is only a spare so never goes anywhere apart from my space at work and my driveway so only really interested in recording journeys.
