Glad I’m on 225/55 17s on my 4x4 SE, I’ve dropped the pressures on the front down to 36psi and the ride is excellent.

Skoda Service Plan
Would that apply to pre-registered Karoqs? Bought mine in June, no mention of a service plan and didn’t think to ask.

Skoda roadside assistance
Good to know, well for 25 months time. Luckily I run a couple of older cars that “need” RAC cover so just have it on Mrs DSL & myself, that’ll cover Skippy afternoon that time. Well that’s the plan.

Skoda roadside assistance
Doesn’t it run until the 3 year warranty is up?

How to prevent windshield fogging up?
As above, I never switch the AC off. Lots of peeps think AC is only for when it’s hot, it’s for all seasons.

Which rubber floor mats?
I can’t compare with t’other ones as only have experience of the Skoda ones, will take a pic when next in the car to show how well they fit.

Which rubber floor mats?
Got the front ones in the above link and they fit like a glove. Great for muddy boots, much better than the carpet ones the dealer threw in. https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/rubber-mats-front-karoq?_pos=2&_sid=12510fe19&_ss=r PS No idea re backs, just left the carpet ones in there as no-one uses the rear of the car.

Michelin or Continental opinions?
They’ve been on the car for 4 weeks now, done ~1,400 miles on them and happy to report all well. Proof of the pud: They are no noisier than the factory fitted Bridgestones, even at top end(ish) of motorway speeds, and feel is no difference in heavy rain. It’s been cold enough here to suit the winters but have driven them in temps up to +13.5c, didn’t feel any different. Haven’t had frost, ice or snow yet but it’s coming, I can feel it in my bones.

Winter wheels?
Got my full winters on, had them of for about 4 weeks now as tend to fit winters last week of Sept/first week of Oct. Tyres of choice. I use proper winters rather than all seasons as up in the Highlands and it can be pretty severe, not just snow but had temps down to minus high teens. Also they are just so much better in lower temps, bad/rainy weather etc, it’s not just about snow and ice. I’ve been using Conti winters on other cars for about 10 years now and found them excellent in all conditions, to the extent that Mrs DSL was driving on sheet ice with perfect control, I was struggling to walk on it. Plus on uncleared compacted snow (A9 over Drumochter before the ploughs got their butts into gear) they were great up to 60mph. My house is up a fairly well used side road, but not adopted so not gritted, use results in any snow getting compacted down into ice and when it melts it get very slick. A no go in summer tyres unless in a proper 4x4, a breeze with winters. OK, it’s another cost but the set of Ratikons I put the winters on cost only £250 and I’ve splashed out on a full sized spare and same tyre (similar for summer set) as the type of driving I do dictates carrying a spare. Another advantage of these tyres is they are non directional so spare gets fully used. Looking forward to a bit of snow this winter to see if I can replicate this pic in Skippy. As long as I can beat the plough.

Missing the rechargeable torch??
Easy to check the actual build date on the MySkoda app. S’pose in the grand scheme of things it’s not going to be too expensive to change the battery if it dies after the end of the warranty.
-
Missing the rechargeable torch??
Will do. Skippy is mostly used for long hauls up & down the M74, M6, etc rather than local driving so should hopefully be kept healthy. So far, so good.

Missing the rechargeable torch??
11 months in the case of mine. Built end July 19, registered end Dec 19 and I picked it up end June 20. Didn’t/don’t have a problem with that as the price was good enough.

New owner with a load of questions.
We’re up in the Highlands and haven’t seen double digit temp numbers for a couple of weeks now. +6c at the mo, was driving in +2c heading past Dalwhinnie on Friday. I tend to put them on a little early, beats the rush if the garage is doing it (my car) or before it gets freezing when I do it (SWMBO’s car). SWMBO used to insist that I did it when it was proper winter temps in the morning but took pity on me as I’d be coming back in with no feelings in my hands.

Difference between oil and inspection Service ?
Cheers, I didn’t get that far. Will worry about that in 26 months.

Difference between oil and inspection Service ?
Just been looking at the breakdown side of things. As per this, I thought a new Skoda had 3 years breakdown cover: But what is this referring to? Is it after the 3 years are up, get the service done and get free breakdown cover?

What did the fix end up doing to the drivability of the car? I remember at the time thinking that if I had a VAG car I wouldn’t be going anywhere near a main dealer as they were bound to mess it up big time.

Adblue warning message?
- Adblue warning message?
Can cars use the adblue pumps in the HGV section, are they low enough delivery speed for cars?- New owner with a load of questions.
2nd minor update. Had winters put on the “new” rims and said rims on the car at the beginning of the month. Now done ~1,200 miles on them, local driving right through to motorway long hauling, incl some “fash(ish) blasts. No difference in feel and noise from the factory fitted Bridgestones. Brill. Only thing left is to see how they behave when the white stuff falls, though the benefits from winter tyres are not only in the snow.- New Karoq owner
And excellent for long hauls. Most in a day for me has been 600 miles, got out without any of the usual aches & pains. And loving the mpg. Got 59mpg on outbound trip (570 miles), 55mpg on way back but heavily laden. Both out & back sitting at 60mph, mostly on cruise control. Happy with that. - Adblue warning message?
