If you loved your Mk3 Octavia Estate....
If you loved your Mk3 Octavia Estate 2014 and did not wish to get rid of it, and money was no object (okay, it is, but for this question, it is not) What modifications would you make to it please? I have not mentioned what features I have because I am interested in what modifications others would make. Many thanks,

Disconnected and reconnected same battery and now boot flashes open and closed and brake lights flash when moving and boot will not unlock
Skoda Octavia mk 3 Body type: Estate Engine: CLHA CC: 1.6 Fuel: diesel year: 63 plate. I disconnected the battery to thread some cable through the firewall and then reconnected the exact same battery an hour or so later. One of the threads here on briskoda.net suggested if there are faults (ESC, tyres etc.) to drive about a mile and they will disappear. I did that, and they disappeared. However, even though it is shut, the boot flashes open and closed on the maxi. The brake lights are set to be on when the boot is open so they are continuously flashing too. When in motion the warning bleep sounds. A thread on briskoda.net mentioned about a new towbar being fitted and light or boot issues which turned out to be a fault with lighting. I removed the offside boot light no change. When I removed the nearside boot light, the flashing stopped. However, I cannot open the boot, even when the car is unlocked, the boot catch will not work. What I do not understand is, all I did was disconnect and reconnect the battery, I have not changed it, I have not changed or added anything, the cables I threaded through the firewall are disconnected at both ends. Has anyone else had similar issues and if so how did you fix it? Any help to fix the issue would be much appreciated.

Suspension upgrade to raise suspension
Telephoned Vindis Skoda Service Centre Cambridge yesterday to ask if they would change the rear springs at the service on Wednesday.... no sorry, can only fit the same part number. However, parts were a little more helpful. I have AD's, they are going to order AF's for me to collect at the service. Ordered helper springs from Mad Suspensions and Quattro-tech Cambridge will fit both on Thursday or Friday. Will let everyone know how it goes.

Suspension upgrade to raise suspension
@Carlston thank you, crawled under this morning, and the car came with 500 511 121 AD unfortunately I do not have any callipers to measure it with. I have listened to the advice given by @Carlston, @vrs'burks and @lard-ajc in this post and (489523-octavia-scout-mk3-rear-suspension) I am not going to raise the suspension but get thicker springs and a helper spring unless anyone can think of a reason not to? as I do not necessarily need to increase the ride height, that said I would be interested in @Carlston your thoughts on fitting equivalent of 511121BE (your post on page 2 of 489523-octavia-scout-mk3-rear-suspension) to not only take more weight but increase ride height slightly. Presumably I would need to change the front ones too? @fabdavrav thank you for the torque settings, I am going to chicken on this, purchase the parts and get a local garage to fit them. While getting the spring part number, I have already put a dent in the under sill with to long a wood support on the trolley jack, huff! Many thanks for everyones help,

Suspension upgrade to raise suspension
Thank you @fabdavrav the only spacers I have managed to find are for the earlier Octavia versions

Suspension upgrade to raise suspension
@vrs'burks is the height on the scout higher than the 4x4? If so, then I would look to change the suspension to that of a scout, whichever has the higher ride height and can as you say support the load.

Suspension upgrade to raise suspension
I have Octavia MK3 Estate/Combi MY13, I have a dog and a Gunner Kennel in the boot, the two are the equivalent in weight of an adult, add to that five adults and a roof box and the suspension is struggling. I do not want to change the car, not least because not many cars have a boot long enough to take the kennel without the top going through the back window, and I like not paying road fund tax. I have read a few posts on this forum which upgrade the suspension to lower it. However, I want to upgrade the suspension to raise it. I have thought about changing the suspension to that of a 4x4 to get the extra height. Would that work? Is it possible? What parts would need changing? Has anyone done it? Many thanks, Gordon

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
The controllers I got from the scrap yard did not work, so I invested in a pair of new ones.... 5Q4 959 592 E and 5Q4 959 593 E Once I put the long coding in from the old controllers, they appeared to work, with one known problem. Folding Mirrors... the folding mirrors open when the mirrors should close and vice versa. I am sure I have seen a post about this issue, but with a VW, but I cannot seem to find it. Would anyone know how to fix it with the Octavia mk 3 please?

Retrofit Mirror Control Switch E263 Fold-in Mirror Switch
I currently have a Mirror Control Switch without E263 Fold-in Mirror Switch, and I would like to fit one while retrofitting Electric Fold-in Mirrors. I have searched the Forum, but cannot find the answer though I suspect @SashaGrace having done the retrofit knows the answer. Looking at the new switch with Fold-in function, there are 6 pins (I have not looked at the old one yet, as it is still fitted). I have also looked at the wiring diagram, which shows 4 wires in T6r. My question is this, does the new Fold-in Mirror Switch (fold-in, heated, left/right adjustment) need four wires or 6? If the latter, where do the extra two cables go? Many thanks in advance,

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
Actually, I think I have worked out how to find the pin out. Looking through the Basic Equipment pdf, T32/X where X is the pin number.

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
@brettikivi I must be looking in the wrong place, I cannot find the pinout of the controller in the Electrical manual, or when I use ERWIN ESIS, any thoughts on where it might be please?

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
While hoping I can get the new controller "seen" by the car, I have continued with retrofitting the Red Warning Lights. I removed the white block from the blue plug and notice I only have three wires, while the old controller (5Q4 959 392) has 7 pins. Would anyone know what the pin out is please? I noticed that 5Q4 959 592 has one extra pin

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
The controller arrived a few days after my post, and the lights arrived this morning..... The controller is 5Q4 959 592 C. I unplugged my old controller and plugged the new one in, and then did a scan with ODBEleven, unfortunately, the controller is not detected. How do I tell if the controller is dead or if it needs parametrising/dataset? Many thanks in advanced

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
Thank you @langers2k I think I am going to have to take the plunge and buy one and see if it works.... If it needs parametrising/dataset, and I bring the car to you, are you able to do it? @SashaGrace if you know what the suffix means, the info would be much appreciated before I take the plunge.

Door Control Unit to retrofit puddle lights and red warning light please?
Hello, From ODB11 I have determined the Door Control Units fitted in my mk3 Octavia Estate are 5Q4959393 and 5Q4959392, though I do not know what the letter afterwards is. Does anyone know how to find it using ODB11 and does anyone know what the letter afterwards means? I have seen C, E and F. Which letter afterwards would allow me to have puddle lights and the red warning lights (6Y0947411) please? Would anyone know what the part number is for the part of the loom and plug which fits into the red warning light please? Many thanks

I messed up and used an App
I removed the boot trim, and moved/touched/poked two connection blocks, one light brown, one black .... low and behold the boot open light came on. So it looks like something to do with the electrics rather than something I had messed up with the OBDEleven. I could not work out how to pull either of the connectors apart. Would anyone have a wiring diagram for the two connectors please? I cannot find one online.

I messed up and used an App
SashaGrace, thank you. Apart from the rear washer, it appears nothing on the boot door works i.e. numberplate lights, brake light, boot lock, could it be something I have applied has made the module stop working? If so how would I get it working again? Many thanks
