Retrofit Mirror Control Switch E263 Fold-in Mirror Switch

Featured Replies

I currently have a Mirror Control Switch without E263 Fold-in Mirror Switch, and I would like to fit one while retrofitting Electric Fold-in Mirrors. I have searched the Forum, but cannot find the answer though I suspect @SashaGrace having done the retrofit knows the answer.

Looking at the new switch with Fold-in function, there are 6 pins (I have not looked at the old one yet, as it is still fitted). I have also looked at the wiring diagram, which shows 4 wires in T6r. My question is this, does the new Fold-in Mirror Switch (fold-in, heated, left/right adjustment) need four wires or 6? If the latter, where do the extra two cables go?

Many thanks in advance,

The additional pins will probably go to the motor controller in the bottom of the mirror post for bending in the mirror.

Just had a quick look at the WD I have and I can only see 4 wires :)

The fold in switch (E263) looks to share the resistor ladder with the other rotational settings which makes sense:

Yeah it’s 4 wires, no extra wires need adding, switch is plug and play.

@langers2k thank you, that looks like the same WD I was looking at. I am glad I was reading it correctly.

Thank you @SashaGrace you have confirmed I am not going mad. If the rain holds off tomorrow, I will replace the mirrors and the control switch.
