  1. Apologies for delayed reply- yes it does kick in occasionally in Normal mode when I m taking it easy which isnt very often!
  2. Maybe...I guess we wait to see if any other owners of same car do/dont get coasting in Eco/Comfort modes
  3. @TheUltraRunner- Nope you're not going mad, I get coasting in ECO and Comfort modes...my car is Dec 2020 Mk4 VRS 2.0 245 DSG
  4. @toot Thanks for the v useful info and links as I intend to be keeping the car for quite some time I'll be looking to get DSG oil/filter change done at 4 yrs as opposed to the recommended 8!! I dont tend to welly the car too much but do like the idea of having an extra bit of power ... always ensure that both engine / gearbox oil are nicely warmed up
  5. Surely this is an improvement on predecessor with lessons learned and improvements made? Not heard of any troubling issues with these as yet...like any "auto" box depends how you treat them I guess
  6. Thinking about doing this with lower torque with RacingLine...a little unsure tho as they say DSG map not required for low torque map but torque goes upto 480NM and (I believe) max on DQ381 box is 430Nm?? Am I overthinking it, being told gearbox can take it and more
  7. @Toot - thanks for the update with the HILARIOUS illustration Pretty disconcerting that there is no "agreed" service schedule as such, I think I mentioned earlier that for DSG oil change it was a pick of....Not required/8years/4years!! Choose one!??
  8. @toot different dealers stating different things..not needed, 4 yrs, 3 yrs...however been told by dealer who spent a fair amount of time confirming that its required every 2 years!!! Mind boggling!!
  9. Hi All 👋 Does anyone know what the scenario would be when warranty expires in relation to software updates (infotainment), so far all software updates have been covered under warranty but no idea what the scenario would be when this expires...would dealers charge for this ? I think thats a given tbh...can car go outside of the dealer network for any software updates????
  10. @Felix2021 - loving your last sentence, hahaa! I'll be using that quote a lot...at work!
  11. @toot Thanks for the info 👍 Do you variant of DSG box in the VRS? (2.0 Petrol! )
  12. Ive read depending on the tune, well more the torque, the DSG wont need a remap? Could this help with wheelspin in 1st/2nd gear? I do recall driving a Mk3 VRS Manual a few years ago (my nephew is a trader and focuses on hot hatches) remapped to 390 ish bhp...excellent map as max power/torque wouldnt cut in until oil temp was 80 deg plus and it Limited torque in 1st/2nd gear! That thing was v v quick, in 3rd gear way quicker than the Merc GLA 45 380BHP I had as a courtesy car...for 4months!
  13. @tootOnce again, very useful information! Was looking at a service plan for next 2 yrs (Yr3 and 4) with Skoda but it only includes oil, oil filter and pollen filter change!!! Will be going via Independent route and have found a local place to change VAG e diff oil/sparks/DSG oil etc i.e all the mandatory items that arent covered by the service plan
  14. UK warranty is 2yrs unlimited mileage or 3 yrs 60,000 miles...same as above for paint corrosion, pretty surprised that standard warranty is different in France
  15. Do share :).... what are the power gains and do you have manual or DSG? Noticeable difference??
  16. @Mario_Delgadois your car a Mk4 VRS? I thought these were released in late 2020 with a 3yr warranty (well that was the case for UK cars)??
  17. Thanks toot! Very useful link 👍 Luckily the service manager was the master technician at my local dealer and has a huge wealth of knowledge and still gets his hands dirty... Ive been looking at extended service plans from Yr3 onwards but they only cover oil and filter !! Thinking of going independent and using a relatives mate whos gone independent after 5yrs of being master technician at VW..
  18. Yes you Are correct its not a mechanical LSD, ...didnt realise they needed oil change tho, I'll ask my local dealer as Service Manager stated that for my Yr3 service it would only be oil/oil filter change
  19. This is a fair point ..took mine out for a spirited drive via some A/B Roads - did scare myself a little with the back end swinging out ...it is fast enough tbh with steering/handling/LSD very positive And reassuring!
  20. Not been convinced by other tuning companies out there but these guys seem the real deal with a wealth of knowledge and experience...
  21. For those in the Uk there's also Celtic Tuning...though I'm getting contradictory info regarding ECU from different tuners, either SIMOS 18.10 or 19.6...anyone know what ECU is in the Mk 4 VRS 2.0 245 (Dsg)? https://www.celtictuning.co.uk/services/performance-stats/skoda/octavia-2020/petrol/2-0-tsi-vrs-242-bhp-2020-ECU-remap-chiptuning/stage-1#t3-content
  22. Has anyone else experienced a really annoying rattly/ buzzing noise from steering wheel? Was driving me crazy on my VRS...a few trips to dealers who initially said no noise until I captured video footage... Was holding/pressing different parts of the steering wheel but no joy until finally, dealer swapped out the airbag... Now I have found inner peace 😌 Just wish the VRS sounded better...its way to quiet 🤫
  23. Also no issues with posting video...1st time Ive uploaded onto YOUTUBE
  24. My thoughts exactly but informed by dealer that its not an issue?! Also noticed steam coming off the top of the bonnet after a decent run when its wet...cant be certain if this happened post the engine cover being removed? No issues with the car itself...close to 12k miles now and feels a lot stronger than it did a year ago
  25. Video uploaded on YouTube. Yeah thats what I was thinking but did get a little concerned as never seen it on any of previous cars Ive owned. Will try the YouTube video upload as suggested by @KenONeill
