Awh that's alright. To me it seems like the starter relay isn't doing its job right as had a problem with a pajero and bypassed the relay and then if I kept the key turned the motor would keep going. The whole idea I the relay is to stop power going to the starter motor once the engine is started isn't it?
So maybe a faulty relay rather than motor? Could be completely off as not a mechanic or anything do not sure exactly how all this stuff works.

9 times out of 10 after I start the car it sounds like the starter keeps spinning for a second. Anyone know why this would be?

Hi guys
Not that mechanically minded but will try my best. Wondering has anyone any pics of the throttle body from a mk1 octavia estate 1.6.
Been told if I clean that it could solve my chugging problem.
Any guides on how to remove and clean would be grateful.

Anyone know how to remove the plastic trim around the stereo and gear stick? Also wondering how to remove the air vents. Have some carbon wrap and want to wrap them. Had a look but couldn't find any links to removal.
I've a 1.6 combi. Incase that makes a difference.

Just wondering does anyone know anything about engine codes. My mate has a computer to read the faults and I got the following faults. Anyone know what they are? They are written out exactly the way they are on the machine.
16514 P0130 O2 Sensor sporadic:
circuit,Bank 1-sensor
1:Malfunction
16891 P0507 Idle air sporadic:
control system:RPM
higher than expected
Would any of these be the reason why the car kinda hiccups or hesitates between 2 and 3k revs?
The car is a 2002 octavia estate 1.6i manual.

Yeah. That's the box alright. I hardly doubt it's ment to be ticking. Might be ok but still doesn't sound right.

Hi guys.
My octavia estate 1.6 petrol is making a clicking noise. Seems to be coming froma box under the engine on the left hand side. Just wondering does anyone know what it is?
Also. When driving the car seems to hiccup between 2500 and 3000 revs. Doesn't happen all the time. Only sometimes.

Had a Skoda octavia back almost 4 years ago. Joined while I had it and then haven't really been on since I sold her.
Been looking for a 1.9 TDI mk1 octavia estate for the last month with no joy. Last night I found a nice one only she's the 1.6 petrol. Got sick of looking at pieces of junk and just bit the bullet and collecting that one tonight.
Just wondering if there are any tips or tricks for me? Shes only an ambiente model but already have her booked in for retrofitting cruise control. Any mods or advice for me? Can I get her remapped? Should I if I can? I was asked while getting then cruise control in if I want those comfort lights aswel?
Just any mods you think I should get in general.

Just letting you know number 69 has been imported from Uk to Ireland by a good friend of mine. She had decals removed before he got it and it is treated like a baby. Looks bran spanking new and has only done around 3k miles in the last 3 or 4 years.
Maybe you should make a list to 1-100 and add it and say what country it's in and any main info like decals removed etc????

Imported the skoda from the uk. Sold it to a friend of mine who still has it.
Came back on here as I'm looking for a vrs wrc edition.

Have a slight problem. Was driving over to the parents this morning to pick up the bike and go for a little spin(bike is in the garage) and got an orange engine light come on. Rang a mate and told me the errors I cleared from the ecu last Monday might be just coming up again.
So went of on the bike. Came back. And started driving back home. Noticed car being really sluggish. No power. Mpg dropped drastically and the asp light came on.
Any recommendations?
