But when you reflect on it, if it did work what an absolute dogs dinner of a system having to leave it plugged in all that time. Let’s see what happens, if you could report what happens to yours? Hi, Thanks for that info.Potentially it’s good news but if they don’t handle it better than the simple map updates we may not move forward. We will have to wait( again) and see! Regards- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Yes I agree, Skoda must surely be aware of all the aggro. that people are having regarding what should be a simple issue...i.e. Updating maps!! they seem to have a very couldnt care less attitude over the issue. Since i got the car Sept20, I have been in touch with UK Head of Customer Services, CZ Head office customer services, and currently again with UK Customer Services but NONE of them have come up with a definitive consistent working procedure or explanation about the update inconsistency. I find this totally unacceptable but cant seem to find a way to get any sense out of them. To my mind its like buying a washing machine but one of the programmes doesnt work...except its quite a bit dearer!!!!! Pity we cant get their customer services to spend a day reading the Briskoda forum!! Regards to all. Eric- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Hi Stewart, I have gone through what is supposed to be the correct update procedure but like many it has failed. I am on 0270 software so that may be the reason!! ( clutching at straws!!). How do i get 0276 software onto my sat nav to try the update and see if that helps? Thanks to anyone who contributes Regards Eric- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
I have been chasing Skoda uk and CZ Head Office for over a year and so far got nowhere. I find it pathetic that after over 18 months they still haven’t got an upgrade system that consistently works for each model. Not sure where to go now!! Thanks for your input Eric- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Hiya, Just to double check I put in my vin number again to get up the zip file on the update portal and downloaded it again. This was extracted to a 64 gb stick and plugged in to the USB C near the gearstick. I have just completed an hours journey and checked the system info after the journey. Yet another complete failure!!! No update carried out, really am fed up with Skodas Sat Nav system! It’s a good job it’s a great car otherwise! Also pleased I kept my Garmin as its use gets closer and closer. Any further ideas anyone, you can sense the desperation in my text!! Thanks to all Eric stick- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Thats great those are the files that I have used, plus the package file.Not sure if the last one is needed but its gone on anyway. I have just to go out soon and have a decent drive to see what happens then. Thanks a lot Eric- MIB3 Map Updates - again!
Hi, Thanks for your help in advance, I am just going through the process of a map update on my MIB3 Amundsen sat nav. and I have extracted the files to my 64gb stick. The next step is to plug it into the USB C port by the Auto gearstick. You say that when it is updating there is no indication of anything happening??? i find that really poor, can you confirm i have read that right!! So when you did all that and drove locally to update, have you any idea how long it took to upload into the sat nav to get your new maps? And just to be certain, after you unzip the main file and get loads of sub folders, it is the contents of EACH of these sub folders that has to be tranferred to the stick? Hiya Guys, Does anyone know if it is possible to display the screen of a Garmin Nuvi 2699 via the Sat nav Screen of the above Amundsen Sat nav..... Had another reply from Skoda but as useless as ever, I did promise to show the content so have pasted below. There needs to be bomb put under a few seats over this dreadful MY21 Amundsen system. How useless is this reply and again given my marching orders. I think if the saga was picked up by a really intent motoring correspondent Skoda wouldn’t come out of it too well!! Understatement!! I understand that you are disappointed with this situation. However, there are no faults with your vehicle and we would not be looking to extend the ŠKODA Connect Services as a result of the national lockdown. I would like to apologise that this is not the response you were hoping for. A there is nothing further I can assist with, I will be looking to close the file as our position will not change. Thank you for contacting ŠKODA UK. Kind regards Needless to say I am disgusted with their stance but seems there is no where to go now, they have won the battle! I have written again to the contact mentioned in previous correspondence saying that i cant accept that Skoda wont accept an extra free year for the Connect system. Iin view of the fact that without proper instructions, map update nightmare etc etc they have sold a car with a Sat Nav more or less not fit for purpose, can you imagine buying a new washing machine with all electronic controls and being supplied with the manual for the previous model!!!! It beggars belief, what is such a shame is that i think, this apart, the Karoq is a great car. I know its a bit of hassle but If more of you want to badger the contact we have, i dont think it will do us any harm. Regards to all- MY21 Amundsen Map update procedure
Excellent confirmation of my thoughts, I simply cannot believe they won’t extend the FOC Connect service, as you say Excellent comments, in line with my thoughts, not extending the FOC Connect is deplorable. As you say an excellent car and rubbish Sat Nav back up service. I will be pressing again( we could all do this) for them to extend the Connect service without charge. Regarding an additional year ŠKODA Connect Services for customers who have purchased vehicles whilst under the restrictions, this is not something we intend to extend. I would like to apologise for this. The map update instructions should be translated before the anniversary for your registration however, we do not have an estimated time frame as to when this may look to be released. Also to say that it will have been a year before I get my Sat Nav update instructions is lamentable. It can’t take that long to translate!!! Hallelujah Guys, Just had this e mail; from Skoda Head Office which I have copied and pasted below to give us all some hope??!! Re: Karoq SE Drive – Dear Mr .......... Thank you for getting in contact with us. I have spoken with one of my colleagues who has confirmed that the map updates are done automatically to your Multi-Media Unit. This is because all new ŠKODAs come with 1 year free ŠKODA Connect Services. Once this has expired, you can either chose to renew your ŠKODA Connect Services, or not and have to do this manually. This would be done by downloading the map update onto a USBC stick; that would then be plugged in and manually uploaded onto the vehicle. These instructions will be updated for your make and model, once translated over from German to English. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Of course, should you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on the details below. Thank you for contacting ŠKODA UK. I am finding all this complete ongoing indifference from UK customer service so frustrating. Has anyone got any new ideas how we stir up some meaningful action over this Map update matter and indeed other issues regarding the NON Customer service we are sll experiencing from Skoda Head Office. I find all this discussion so interesting but so absolutely pathetic of Skoda, it’s such hard work trying to make any sense out of it and more important how to do easy updates. On my Garmin nuvi I plugged into usb on my computer, went into Garmin Express, updates downloaded free ( for life) and frequently, job done.!!! Well an update on the Customer Service shambles. My optimism was misplaced after my replies from CZ Head office! I had a reply saying they were sorry i was dissapointed with the car!!!!!! can you believe it, i quickly pointed out the car is superb unlike customer services!! They did however pass it all to head office in the UK....Guess what, yes, no response whatsoever!!. I am sick to death of the absolutel sheer incompetence demonstrated by this dept. I am at a loss now what to do. I have spent, like the rest of you, a lot of time on this and quite frankly I am back exactly where I started so, unlike me, but I have hoisted the white flag of surrender to Customer Services and i hope they are proud of their actions ( or really non actions). What a shame they do not read the feelings of their customers via outlets like this forum..but hey ho thats it. Everyone stay safe and good luck to anyone wanting to take it further.
