  1. Just heard from Customer Services ... Traffic sign recognition does not appear on the head-up display. This is despite all Skoda publications and pictures showing that it does! Totally misleading. So many niggles and frustrations that it may have to go. Not the usual Skoda quality I'm afraid.
  2. I'm the same. Managed to change it to present position whilest on the drive and it shows correctly on the map. However whenever I set home it takes me to the start or the end of the road not the house. Never had a Sat Nav like that before.
  3. Would be good if they could do it ... But don't hold your breathe!
  4. Wow that's very interesting. Thanks
  5. Me neither
  6. The latest update from customer services .... The tech team are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. BUT when it's ready it will only be updated on the car when you go in for a service! This in my mind is pretty deplorable as you could be driving around for over a year when a fix be available. That's not customer service!
  7. The 'error fix' didn't change that. In fact it caused me another problem. When ever the stop/stay kicked in the infocentre screen changed to the menu screen on its own! Had to reselect the screen to what you were originally seeing.
  8. Just checked mine and it only operates when the ignition is on.
  9. I put mine on the passengers side behind the rear view mirror and 30cm was just enough.
  10. I got mine from eBay. Yes it's 30cm but it worked ... just
  11. Has lane assist but no heated steering wheel. Traffic sign recognition is part of the heads up display, or that is what I was lead to believe...
  12. Hi, no never had any road signs showing at all.
  13. I put in my home address .... and according to the Sat Nav I don't live where I think I do ... I don't know where they get their information from but I'm not sure I trust it ...
  14. Mine just had a factory reset ... didn't work ☹️
  15. What's 'Laura' all about? She keeps popping up without invitation asking what she can do. It sure she could be useful if the software worked correctly and only when asked. Had to turn her off!
  16. It seems that when Skoda create the right hand drive version of the car they just move the steering wheel. The new Colombus display is an example. It needs to be flipped so that the home/menu buttons are next to the driver not at the farthest reach. The navigational information that is useful would be more in the line of sight. It's a totally digital so requires no hardwear changes. It is vitally impossible to get cool air to your face. The low level central vent his your hands first. The door side one shuts down when you point it at your face. I think a little more thought needs to be given to make it more user friendly for those with right-hand drive cars.
  17. Bought the Octavia having had Skoda's before and lived them. Mine has heads up display which I wanted as all the promotional videos/information show it displaying traffic signs (speed etc) right in front of your eyes. However mine doesn't. Been back to the dealer and they can't make it work either. Seems there is a lot of supposedly clever software on the Octavia which doesn't work properly.
  18. Took mine back to the dealer yesterday. They couldn't change it to miles either! They couldn't change the one in the showroom either.
