  1. I agree. The simplistic beam on or dipped worked very well. If they can't get the matrix LED high beam assist to work properly then go back to the simple way. Like many things the software has been introduced when not fully tested and ready ... and we're left to find out what works and what doesn't.
  2. My lane assist is now so weak I can't feel it. Today I was half way into the next lane before I felt the mildest of tension or vibration (yes there wasn't a car in it - I was testing it). Almost renders it useless and possibly dangerous!
  3. The matrix headlights with high beam adjust don't work properly. Had the update last week and they still blind opposite direction drivers.
  4. After my updates last week have been for the first long journey ... High beam assist, which was supposed to have been fixed isn't. Blinds everyone intermittently. Have also notice that lane assist is worse and again intermittently works at best. Unreliable. Beginning to despair.

  6. Can't tell yet as I haven't tested it. With regards to the km/m issue it is the Sat Nav units that are the problem. Speed is shown in mph.
  7. They certainly do! I've spoken directly to them about it, and many other things, 6+ weeks ago ...
  8. Well today I had 11 software updates! I was told there were 7 (97eq I suppose) but there were 11. Apparently one was to fix high beam assist which I had reported as not working properly. Otherwise I have no idea of what was updated. As to km / m .... no change!

  10. This is shocking! ... Skoda, and possibly the whole VAG group have let us down ... the car was sold to us before the software was ready. Having had experience of this in another walk of life they don't care ...
  11. Glad something has been fixed ... Let's hope all the bugs get sorted ... SOON
  12. Ok thanks 🤞
  13. Hi, how did the software updates go? Have some problems fine away? 🤞
  14. That's very helpful. Thanks
  15. Thanks for that. I'll make enquiries ...
  16. I think there are quite a few of us who are considering the same! As the dealership said to me 'it's the little niggles which detract from the car itself and cause annoyance' It simply isn't good enough!
  17. Skoda are covering themselves in much glory at the moment ☹️
  18. There was an update today ... Still no miles/yds etc ☹️
  19. Manual updates by the look of things ... still no miles on the Sat Nav ☹️
  20. I had a SEAT Areca previously and the lane assist was perfect. Seeing that it comes from the same VAG stable I can't understand why the Octavia is so bad!
  21. There's a surprise ☹️
  22. I agree with all that was said about the infotainment system. It is very distracting to change things and not easy to navigate. As for voice control I've had to turn it off. I'm told by customer services that it is working correctly ... however when you have a conversation in the car it keeps popping up "what can I do for you?" ... "Go away" ...
  23. I totally agree PetrolDave but they're not budging. There is not an option in the menus - which says something. It was one of the reasons I wanted the head-up display ☹️
  24. I agree that they have rushed things through before getting if right. Not putting VAG generally in a good light. They have said that there is no way of retrofitting traffic sign recognition which seems a bit odd as the camera is already there.
  25. Things seem to have been rushed with the new Octavia. So many niggles with software. Things don't work as they should.
