I was asked what I got instead ... A Volvo V90... and yes it all works very very well! The guy from the dealer who drive the Octavia away later said 'there were some strange things going on with the car' ... enough said. I hope you all get your things sorted but I couldn't wait. Bye bye Skoda. Such a shame

Hi Matmacka, I reckon that was Skoda customer services. I had dealings with them and basically achieved nothing. As you know I joined you in ditching my Octavia for very similar reasons. I bought a Peugeot 508sw .... I've now given it back as it had problems. I'll get a refund but as part of it I may get the Octavia back if they've still got it ... then what 🤔 ... good luck and I hope that with amount of money you've lost your new car will make up for it ....

Nope just partexed it at a big financial loss but the aggravation and annoyances it causes was somehow worth it. I can't see Skoda doing much no matter how long we wait. In the meantime we just get more angry every time we get in the car. Life is too short. Bye bye VAG!

Sorry guys but mine goes tomorrow. Had enough. Maybe I should have waited but .... This is the cut down version of what is wrong that a I gave to the service manager recently but excludes anything to do with bad design ... Heard nothing - MATRIX headlamp assist - not working correctly. Blinds oncoming traffic Rear traffic assist - volume very low Park assist alerts - very slow to activate ‘Please drive in the centre of the road’ - keeps coming on even when I’m driving in the middle of the road. BRAKE warning - comes on when there is nothing in the front of the car. Navigation - still unable to select Miles instead of Km LAURA - turned off because she keeps popping up without being called Bluetooth - the telephone sometimes auto-connects but often doesn’t. Good luck and I'll be keeping an eye out for the progress ...

As I said in my HAD ENOUGH post I totally agree. I'm off for the same reasons.

Having had 4 Skodas over the last 20 years I thought the new Octavia would be yet another excellent car. How wrong I was! There are so many annoying things surrounding the use of the new infocenter and with the car software that doesn't work correctly as mentioned in other posts. I can't see Skoda sorting these things out anytime soon, if at all, and the frustrated feelings every time I get in the car I can no longer live with. Despite the huge financial cost I'm off! Skoda you've let us down and you're losing loyalty.

I have the same issue and same software. Very frustrating and shouldn't happen.

I'm not sure the dealers are covering themselves in glory ... neither are Skoda. Perhaps they're as feed up with the Mark 4 as we are ... I've lost hope and faith that these things will ever get fixed ...

I'm feeling the same way. What Skoda promise and what they provide is miles apart. 'You can turn it off' then why pay for it .... disgraceful. It's advertised as one of the great advances and driver assistant features. They just keep ditching their responsibility. Tarnishing a reputation which Skoda has successfully built up over the years ...

Unfortunately that is not the case. It doesn not show on the digital dashboard

It should come from the front camera to be dynamic. But as I say doesn't happen in the UK ... not sure we would need moose warnings though ... 😂

Err no we don't. It's only on the Sat Nav and that's historic when the map was produced, not dynamic, which can lead you into trouble as they may not be accurate. Another misleading ad from Skoda

It must be a continental thing ... I've been told by Skoda that although I've got HUD traffic sign is not available! I'm in the UK ... so very annoying and against what they advertise!

Generally speaking mine connects ok with cable but yes sometimes it loses connection but quickly returns. As to Bluetooth I, and others, I've spoke to have problems in that it seldom connects automatically. I have to go to phone selection to make it connect virtually every journey. I'm not sure that's specific to Xiaomi though ...

There are so many issues with the car. Driving is good but the software and cabin ergonomics are terrible! Have had many Skodas and thought the MK4 would be brilliant. It isn't. Like others I've virtually given up with Skoda as nothing gets corrected. I will never buy a Volkswagen group car again. Now looking elsewhere as not sure I can live with this car.

I've still got problems with the Matrix LED lights! I think someone on another post said that Skoda we're still working on that for driving on the left hand side ... 😞

Hi, it directs directly on the windscreen. Have been told that traffic sign recognition is NOT available which flies in the face of their advertising. So annoying ...

Strangely those lights came on on their own and then went off a few times when I'd had the car a couple of months. Hasn't happened since ... very strange gremlins ... My thoughts were 'now what? ' to add to all the other things ☹️

Agree with the voice activation. I reported it and was told it was correct. So sensitive. You could be having a conversation with someone and 'how can I help you' would come out of the blue. What! Like you I've turned it off.

The problem is the auto high beam setting. They don't 'dip' as they should. i.e the relevant matrix LEDs don't turn off/dip correctly so you still dazzle on coming traffic. You have to manually dip the lights. The auto not working as it should.

If the facility has been withdrawn why don't Skoda tell everyone. They have all our details ....
