Can I put a taller tyre on my wheels.
I appreciate it would need to be all 4 corners at once but can I replace the current 235/40/19 tyres with a taller tyre? I’m thinking this might make the ride a bit less ‘harsh’. There seems to be plenty of space visible between the top of the tyre and the arch rim.

Trailer assist?
My 2015/65 SEL Exec has a detachable swan neck Westfalia tow hitch. How do I determine if my car has trailer assist?

Boot net programme
My Oct 15 came with 3 nets and 2 velcro, angled parcel retainers.

Boot dimension with back seats folded
Which is my point but I accept it was poorly presented. Yes there are very small differences but both hatch and estate are big cars externally. Internally, apart from extra height near the boot lid, they are also similar/the same. I like the look of both but it is the hatch which looks best for me. Others feel the estate is the looker for them. What amazes me is how it drives like a smaller car!

Boot dimension with back seats folded
The hatchback is longer than the estate and the same width. The estate has more height in the boot space.

What were the original tyres?
My manual 65 plate 2.0 tdi SEL Exec 190 hatch is nearly due front tyres. They are 19” wheels. There is so much choice but what would’ve been on there originally?

Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
If I get nowhere (as expected) with the dealer I will change the shock absorbers in the New Year.

Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
Do I need new, stiffer springs to significantly reduce bounce or just new shockers?

Bilstein B6 DCC shock absorbers available at last
I am seriously thinking about a set of Bilstein B6 for my 2015 FWD, non-DCC 190 tdi. It’s on 68k miles and the wallowing is awful at anything over a crawl over poor/bumpy surfaces. Speed humps give a horrendous result! It’s like a boat at sea. Price-wise, looks like £540 if I fit them myself. I don’t want to lower the car so i’m thinking I can keep the current standard springs. Anyone done this? Thoughts?

Let down by Skoda and main dealers
If we hadn’t been in the middle of a global pandemic I might’ve had more luck getting an earlier appointment meaning I wouldn’t have covered 3K miles before the faults were looked at. I’m going to have to take this up with Skoda UK. Anybody got any advice? Plymouth Skoda quoted £1100+ to grease the suspension, replace the rear air vent and dismantle the dash to investigate. At this point I would say avoid Skoda! Buyer beware! The sales manager at Derby is a bit of a bully in my opinion and not at all interested once you have signed and taken delivery.

Let down by Skoda and main dealers
So, roughly 2 months ago I bought a 2015/65 TDI 190 SEL Exec with 63K, FSH and a 1+2 year Skoda warranty from Derby Skoda. Within a day or so I noticed an annoying dash vibration on acceleration in 2nd and 3rd between 1900 and 2300 rpm. I also noticed creaky suspension and that the rear air vent direction selectors ‘came off in my hand’ as well as that some paintwork needed sorting on the rear number plate panel. I emailed the dealer and after some back and forth email traffic I was asked to send them a quote for this paint work. I tried to book my car in with my local main dealer at Redditch but they could not provide me a with a loan car for over 6 weeks. As I work in Plymouth I booked the car in there and I dropped it off on Tuesday this week at 0830. They had the car for 2 full days and called me today having done nothing as Derby Skoda are not interested as I have done circa 3K miles and none of the work is covered under warranty! I am shocked and appalled at the terrible customer service.

Buying used 2016 Superb estate
Avoid diesel. Definitely. Rattles, noisy front suspension, water pump..... check timing belt done as required.

Decisions, decisions....and so it starts
B6 are not the firmest damper that Bilstein do for the Superb!

Dash rattle
Its a real shame ‘cos I love the look of the car, its size is spot on for me, the power is nice. I am thinking of some helper springs to lift the back end when towing a caravan but I won’t bother if the dealer are not interested in helping me sort out rattles and the buzzing dashboard! I commute 185 miles and back to work each week so spend 6/7 hours in it..... too long to be infuriated by these issues.
