  1. Pulled the plug today and my 65 plate SEL Exec 190 manual with 83K miles run is now gone. Loved the car but got cheesed off with so many rattles and vibrations. Worried about crackly sound coming ? from stereo even when switched off and engine off. Bought a 17 plate Premium SE Santa Fe auto. 32K miles on clock. Hope it makes less noise!
  2. Hi. I bought my car from Skoda Derby just over a year ago. I was issued no service history records at the time and was told they are kept on the Skoda network computer system. The car had a service and cam belt/water pump renewal just before I bought it. I now want to sell the car but am struggling without proof of service history. Will a Skoda dealer give me a print out?
  3. So is that 310mm on the front and 300mm on the rear? Also, best brand for disks & pads, please?
  4. I have a 65 plate 2.0L TDI 190 manual hatch SEL Exec. It seems there are several diameters available for front and rear. Anyone know which I need? Many thanks.
  5. My car sits on the drive now for weeks at a time without moving. Is a trickle charger a good idea and can you recommend one? It would need a decent length of cable.
  6. My car is asking me to do this. Is it a case of change and sorted or is anything else required?
  7. I wouldn’t buy a Vauxhall. No offence to anyone.
  8. Definitely won’t be looking at Skoda. Too big (Superb) and too many annoying rattles. Don’t like the Octavia. Any other marques you’d recommend?
  9. Strange question, I know, on a Skoda Superb forum… My good lady and I have 2 cars and neither is used very much now. We want to change to 1 car only and that car has to be able to comfortably lug my caravan (1375Kg) without being enormous itself. The Mrs won’t drive the Superb given its size. This all means I need help identifying a car. I thought about a BMW X1. What would you look at?
  10. My 2015/65 SEL Exec 190 is a manual and now has 81K miles on it and I am thinking of changing it. I have had it a year in a few weeks and no longer commute the 1750 miles per month I did to want a big, comfy motorway cruiser. This last week I didn’t even start it as I can now walk to work! Although I use my car to tow my caravan regularly my thinking is I barely drive anywhere most days and an auto would be better for towing. I was looking at BMW 320 touring, around 2016 MY. I am thinking a petrol would be better but do they struggle with towing?
  11. Mine works perfectly on cruise whilst towing my van.
  12. The vibration/buzz is well known about but a solution seems to vary. Fuel lines beneath car? Top speaker? Condenser pipes bracket behind infotainment screen?
  13. Becoming more frequent. Unsure if its from speakers. Anyone else had this?
  14. Hi. Had an MOT done today on my 65 plate 190 TDI SEL Exec. Passed but tester pointed out a slightly ‘misting’ shocker on the rear. I don’t think my car has adjustable suspension (DCC) where the ride can be firmed up but I can choose ECO/normal/sport/individual driving modes. Does this sound correct or is the presence of these modes indicative of DCC? There is no comfort mode listed. The garage are unsure whether the required shocker has a ‘switch and wire on the top’. Does this make sense to anyone? Am I looking at a £90 or £400+ for a new shocker plus fitting/VAT?
  15. I tow a 1375kg caravan with my 190 sel exec. The detachable Westfalia hook is bob on!
  16. Just over £200 inc VAT for Brembo disks and pads front and rear. Nice.
  17. So will I have to change my rear disks/pads on their drive!? Is that how it works?
