  1. I have had to install an outside 13 amp waterproof point on the wall outside my garage to be able to plug in each day. This is on a 30 amp circuit just to be safe but in theory it should be ok on normal 13amp ring main. If you can park your car inside and leave you cable ready to plug into the car it will be very easy to plug in everyday without much of a problem. The cable is a bit of an issue for me since I need to find somewhere to store cable because is heavy and is quite long. There is a 2nd cable for use at fast charge points when you need to charge whilst you're away from home which is also quite bulky and is kept in a shallow hole underneath the rear luggage space floor. There is an app for you phone which is really useful. It will allow you to plug in and set a time for the car charge, also you can set the car to re-heat or cool at a set time.If you do this inside a garage I thin you will need to selec the "use battery for heating" option in the app otherwise it might start the petrol engine to do the heating. If you do mainly short trips (upto 40 miles return) you will be able to do almost all of the driving on battery. The battery will drain quickly when using all the cars electric functions in cold weather (lights, heated seats, mirrors, A/C etc) s the petrol engine will most likely get used much more. The regeneration function (If you select) will not add a great deal to the battery on short trips. On my new iv the 100% charge started out with an estimated 26 miles range. After about 10 full charges it had gone up to 29miles, and I'm hopeful that it will get a bit closer to the supposed 35 miles soon (as noted in one of the Skoda help pages). If you're going to do longer trips you will need an app called zap map that will show you where you can get charged up when away from home. On a 13 amp supply at home it can take up to 6 hours or more t charge. On a commercial fast charger it is only a little better at around 5 hours. Hope that helps.
  2. Superb, L&K, iv, 2021 model - Collected md Sept 2020. Car has Road signs and Predictive cruise control. Current issues: The road speed sign on the display change from mph to KMph randomly - I think it is only the display but it might affect the auto speed settings as well. The predictive system tries to pick the best speed for going around bends and roundabouts. It seem Ok on the few bends that its detected but is unreliable on roundabouts. When engaged the car will detect a roundabout and start slowing down in good time, however randomly it speed up again just as you get to start turning, which means I have to brake hard - which of course disengages the PACC. I've also encounted a sudden drop in speed through the PACC on different roads from 70 to 50, from 40 to 19, and from 40 to 25mph. No obvious reason, such as a new obstacle in the road. I suspect there are some serious bugs in the software that is combining all the various sensors with the speed control and the maps and it getting things wrong. I've asked the dealer to investigate but so far nothing is know. I cannot see and option to disable the Predictive part of the PACC so current not using any ACC which is a real pain Anyone else having these issues???
  3. Ordered my Superb L&K hatch, iv in march 2020, original del date mid-June 2020 - actually delivery mid Sept 2020. Sometime During the summer skoda increased the list price to over £40,000. The list price at time of ordering was only £38,295 which was spec specifically to be below the Luxury car tax threashold. When that DVLA V5C came through I have been stung with the Luxury car tax - being an extra £325 a year. Has anyone else been caught like this - do you have a solution. Skoda Uk not able to help, dealer may help but will not pay the whole 5 year cost.
  4. Hi. Had my L&K IV for 2 weeks - done almost 700 miles so far. Charged up in a number of places including supermarkets where you get FREE power for 90 mins. Been charged at home most nights to get full battery. Average mpg currently shown on the connect app being 75mpg. Still on 1st tank of petrol. Been mixed driving with some long trips where all battery power used up, plus some on electric only. Just thinking about all that charging in bad weather. All the commercial charge points that I seen are out in the open which is bad news, and potential allow water to get into the charging hole on the car. I'm just considering a car port at home to make it safer and less messy in the winter.
  5. I have PACC on my new L&K. I'm not convinced that its working properly yet. If I go from say a 30mph zone into 60mph zone, as seen by the car on the road signs regardless on my cruise speed setting the speed is re-set to that on the sign, being 60, which is not what I want to happen. It works in reverse really well which is Ok so that you do not break the limit. I think there should be an option setting to cover this feature. I've also noted that there is considerable danger sometime when approaching a roundabout in PACC mode. The car identifies the roundabout (message on the screen) and slows down before reaching the roundabout, however the speed that car is often to fast to get around safely and I have to brake suddenly. At other times I get a message on the display saying "bend speed XX" and it slows to that speed which is Ok then speeds up again. I suspect that this id due to poor mapping info and not the car, however together is sill leave very wary of letting the car this feature.
  6. Hi. I have a new L&K Superb iv. I've had 3 superbs and always been able to get very comfy with the electric seats but not a leather fan. My car has heated seat and ventilated option as well. They are not the best seats that I've ever driven in but I love the total flexibility that it offers, including the way you can move the wheel. Best thing for me is being able to get fairly close to the wheel when driving then selecting a different position with the seat memory function to make it easier to get in and out. I've only just found out an odd thing, being that if you leave the door open whene you press the seat memory button it will move the seat all the way to the correct position, HOWEVER when you close the door and press the same memory button you have to keep your finger on the button - I find this really annoying and can see no sensible reason for it being different.
  7. Hi. I've just taken delivery of a superb, L&K IV (plugin). I've been using the lane assist and predictive cruise control (with road signs) and am finding it a bit strange but most of it seems to work - sort of !!!
