  1. I'm getting a little confused here haha, do you reckon the cluster must have been changed in the past? The mileage on this car is only 41k... I've owned it for 2 years now and bought it on 35k... I was shocked at how low the mileage is, but according to the MOT history, it all lines up correctly 🤷‍♂️ If I were to buy this cluster: https://ebay.us/m/MUH2QA Would it fit and work ok in this car? Would the mileage automatically change or is the mileage stored in the cluster? I dont want clocks with 180k on when it should be 41k 😅 I have a couple of friends with VCDS, i'm unsure how knowledgeable they are with recoding parts though...
  2. I've just uploaded a video of what the cluster is doing on my YouTube... the file was too big to upload onto here. https://youtu.be/uSSe2sjRP_I?si=KUvFmZfxICYNm1vX
  3. Hello, thanks for the reply... I will add some photo's of the rear of the cluster, it is definitely 903... I'm unsure if the cluster has been replaced before, but I know for sure it has been removed and tampered with in the past... When we first removed the cluster, the clips holding the plastic glass on were broken... I always noticed my buld warning light to be illuminated all the time, but was very dim and could only really see it at night... we quickly noticed it had been coloured over with a permanent marker 🤦‍♂️🤣 Also, when the company who the auto electrician sent the cluster off to, had noticed there was an issue with the EPROM, it looked like it might been been removed and re soldered... but they failed at fixing the cluster. I still haven't tried vagcom on the car, but i'm in the process of getting someone round to plug her in
  4. Hello, I recently had a major issue with my 2010 vrs... it originally started 4-5 weeks ago, when the airbag like came on the dash and at the same time, the door locks kept trying to unlock constantly while driving... a couple of days later, all the warning lights started flickering on and off on the dash, the backlight keeps flickering on and off and its beeping loudly. I had a local auto electrician have a look at it and when he plugged his computer in, he was struggling to get it to connect to the cluster... in the end, he sent it off to a company to get it repaired... they had it for almost 2 weeks and came to the conclusion that its unfixable... I've been trying to find a used cluster online with the part number 1Z0920903F but I can't find one anywhere... the closest I can find is 1Z0920903R... would the last letter make a difference and would I be able to fit it to my car and have it coded properly? I'm not very technical when it comes to electronics in cars... I've tried uploaded a video on what the cluster is doing but the video file is too big... Thanks Rob
  5. Hi guys, i'm having this exact problem on my '09 octavia vrs limited edition 2.0tdi... although, i have a manual gearbox. My problem started once the temperature sensor on the passenger side of the engine popped out of its housing. I replaced the sensor and the housing with TPS parts and also i've replaced the front thermostat and the parking pump 'B'. I still havent managed to correct my lack of temperature issue. When ordering a new thermostat from euro carparts, they said there was 2 thermostats listed for my car... the front thermostat, hidden behind the alternator... and also a thermostat in its own housing... although from reading 100+ threads on coolant issues, it seems that '2nd' thermostat only exsist's on DSG models? Although i'm not 100% sure i'm correct. Could somebody please enlighten me if the cr170 manual has 2 thermostats, or if its only the DSG model which has 2? Thank you!
  6. Hi guys, i'm new to the forum! I've been the owner of a Octavia 2 tdi 170 limited edition for the past 6 years and recently came into a few issues with coolant temperatures... The problem i'm having is, the car will get upto 90°c when driving along, then when i start slowing down or if i come to a complete stop, the coolant temp drops pretty rapidly down to either cold or almost fully cold, then once i start driving again, it slowly climbs back up to 90°c... i've been having this issue for the past year, when the temp sensor popped out of its holder (due to the clip breaking whilst replacing the turbo oil feed) and it pished coolant everywhere... i bought a new sensor and housing and fitted it, ever since then i've had the issue of it not holding temperature! I've replaced the thermostat at the front of the engine and it didnt make a difference, and also replaced the coolant pump B, due to it throwing up a code (open feed fault) and i've also had vag com plugged in on live data, no codes and it told me the water temperature the same as the needle was showing (70 on vagcom and 70 on needle etc) Euro car parts tell me theres 2 thermostats on my car? 1 at the front of the engine which i've replaced... and one in a housing with 4 pipes going it to...? I cant for the life find that second housing on my car... could any body please help me locate it? The cars currently in bits at my dads house, as i'm putting another new thermostat in incase the last one was faulty (both TPS parts, so they should be good...) I have the 'second thermostat' waiting to go in... but i cant see the housing absolutely anywhere?! Its a manual 2.0l tdi 170... Could anybody also tell me the engine code for my car? As i'm absolutely clueless haha, Thanks in advance, Rob!
