  1. Are they noisier than Summer tyres do you know? Do they tend to last longer also? Cheers Andrew
  2. I guess though that Carwow (or similar) is best place to start at! Then you have a figure to work from, and up to you what further bargaining you do!? Thing is the dealer i was originally going to purchase through came up as cheapest on EVERY quotation I asked for, and by some margin! And coincidentally they were also the closest lol!! We had a gentleman's verbal agreement, and he then came back with, and I quote, 'I've made a school-boy error, sorry '!! Just so happened that another local dealer was willing to match original, AND balance in cash from p/x... Swings and roundabouts though, because car is not coming until beginning of Jan now, so I'm not getting as much for p/x, what a bloody tangled web lol!!!
  3. Are you suggesting that in this day and age that we (the hard-working consumer) shouldn't use the likes of Carwow, and come forearmed with facts and figures?? One would hope that dealers actually expect it...
  4. Shall I get the violin out lol!? The world we live in I'm afraid..
  5. I see, apologies, I misread.. How does your Sportline cope with the roads around there though on 19s??
  6. Ahh, sorry, so you put the 17s on the 4x4 in the winter time??
  7. And how does your 4x4 cope with said ****ty roads?
  8. Hmmm, new car was already built, somewhere en route to UK, if not already here, so if I want to change now I'll need to fork out well over an additional grand I'm sure for 18" wheels, and tyres of course... :(
  9. I did test-drive an SE L last Saturday with 18s and was extremely impressed by ride quality!! Then had test-drive in Sportline with 19s, and not quite as good tbh... Stupid question probably but can you not just change the tyres to ones with more sidewall, or am I talking cr*p lol?? Dealer has said of course I can change to 18s, but totally at my own expense!! Ridiculous...
  10. Ahh, ok, so not all bad then lol?? Would you say that the difference is very noticeable?
  11. Picking mine up in next few weeks, can't wait!! Did you happen to test-drive an SE L with 18" wheels? Have you noticed much of a difference if you did? Andrew
  12. Cutting a long story short, I've gone with another local Skoda dealer who I'd had previous comms with!! Its a total cash deal, well p/x and cash i mean!! Still getting 1st 2 services thrown in, but paying a mere £20 more than revised offer from original sheisters!!! However, I'm happy paying that extra 20 quid tbh, no messing around with endless finance forms, selfies etc lol, and probably only a few quid in it when you consider fees etc!! Should be with me either later this month, or early Jan.. Don't f*ck with me lol!!!
  13. Cheers All!! Eventful day by all accounts!! After yesterday's debacle, salesman came back to me today and declared his Carwow quotation had in fact now expired, and new price (by Skoda) was c£350 more!! Twice in 24hrs he's screwed me over, and royally!!!! I knew Skoda were increasing their prices on new vehicles early December, but the way I took it was for new build only, ie. didn't include stock already built vehicles!!
  14. Cheers, yes, that's what I've read, although wasn't sure if rules changed over past 12 months for example..
  15. Evening Folks, as topic header suggests, the dealer has now reneged on their offer! After yesterday's test-drives, my wife and I had decided to opt for a new SE L! Rang the associated dealer earlier today, made the verbal agreement, which, as per agreement over the weeks was my Golf R as p/x (£17.5k), and the balance was to be paid either through pcp finance or cash!? I was abundantly clear over the past 2 weeks that we were still undecided to purchase through one or the other!? The negotiated deal, crystal clear, was Carwow price (VERY good), 1st 2 services free, and a full tank of fuel)! I'd said multiple times, and especially in recent calls, that I was edging towards paying balance with cash.. (still with a '?') Anyway, 1st call today, ran over above deal, ALL still affirmative, so next stage was selfie with me holding my full licence (odd but I'm going with it lol), but next call 15 minutes later, 'sorry I've made a school-boy error, the 2 free services were only if you took out pcp!' Anyway, bit of a stale-mate as we speak, grrr!! Has anyone 'recently' paid by pcp and then withdraw from the contract within a couple of days? If so, did you keep any associated offers like free servicing for 1/2/3 years? This has hit us like a proverbial spanner as you can imagine, so just interested plse to know how Skoda treats withdrawals so soon after signing!? Thanks in advance as we are very keen to proceed ASAP..
  16. Hoping a local wizard (post lockdown) can add High Beam Assist manually at some point lol...!?
  17. Time will tell, so I've now chosen Black Magic SE L new from stock, built early November apparently, so not even sure if in UK yet!? Its got my desired heated windscreen and virtual cockpit, DSG, Family Pack, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Front ISOFIX (surplus to requirements lol)... Here's hoping it matches what I experienced earlier!?
  18. I know, the configurator has been confusing of late!!! Why change to 19s, and then back to 18s for the SE L!? I hope they haven't suddenly realised that the 19s give a **** ride, otherwise I'm buggered!? :(
  19. Anyway, lol, thought I'd update you All! Test-drove the SE L trim first (18" wheels), extremely impressed with ride and cabin noise, or lack thereof lol!! Tested both on my usual patch, and SE L on uneven roads was fantastic!! Sportline (150bh) 4x4 (19" wheels) had superb seats, lighting pack, hmmm, but more cabin noise, and ride 'not quite as comfortable!! Now I appreciate that if I choose SE L trim, new from stock, it will have 19" wheels, bit will the ride be affected that much? Probably won't be quite as smooth, but here's hoping... Pleasantly surprised by both but SE L ticked more boxes IMHO..
  20. Lol, oh I'll miss the R alright but at the grand old age of let's say late 40s, I'm wanting to be a bit more practical now! My wife has recently changed from a Focus Estate to a Fiesta Hybrid 125, so need something with large boot as we both play golf, and often travel places to play.. I'll huff and puff no matter what we choose im sure, and Ateca Cupra to one side, I know I'll miss my current car!! It's costing too much to maintain now, and know it will cost me about a grand in the coming 6 months in servicing, tyres and brakes, provably more actually, so taking the hit and p/x, and been offered £17.5k for an early 16 reg, so not too bad.. I'll remain neutral till after test drives tomorrow though lol..
  21. Sorry to ask but when you say better rear suspension, do you mean it handles bad road surfaces better than say an SE L trim, that now comes with 19" wheels btw lol!? Tax after year 1 is ok at 150, and as you say, insurance probably not as high as my current Golf R lol!! As buying new from stock, I'm clearly limited in what I can have, and just wondering if the extra c.£4k is worth it over the SE L with some nice options!? Decisions Decisions...
  22. Hi Chris, well that's what I thought too but I've triple checked it now and one of my test-drives tomorrow is definitely in the following:- SKODA KAROQ SUV 1.5 TSI (150PS) 4X4 SPORTLINE ACT DSG FINISHED IN VELVET RED WITH CLOTH INTERIOR £23,000 Get a finance quote 26Images Special offer
  23. gigolo456 posted a topic in Skoda Karoq
Evening Folks, so the day is nigh!! Tomorrow, after weeks of deliberations, ramblings on here, and endless research, I finally get to test-drive 2 Karoqs tomorrow!! Will be putting a Sportline 1.5 tsi and SE L through their paces, can't wait!! They've thrown a bit of a spanner in the works though, seems the Sportline is a 4x4, so is the ride potentially better over our ****ty British roads lol?? Never considered 4x4 tbh, and appreciate running costs will be more, but who knows, I might be sorely tempted lol!? Anyone got any pros or cons plse for 4x4 models? Is the 190hp 4x4 a ridiculous proposition?? Hope I sleep well tonight... Andrew
  24. Oh quite, I'm sure it is, just suggesting that for 120 quid it should offer more than a front seat ISOFIX connection, lockable rear doors, and a double-sided boot liner lol!?
  25. Cheers Both, let's hope then the tint on the rear windows is darker than without the pack then!?
