  1. Can anyone please identify the cylindrical part just to the right of the bracket, it's the black part it's damp with coolant . Many thanks
  2. Is the water pump on the same side as the coolant expansion tank?
  3. Now the roomster 1.2tsi has coolant leaking out of what I'm assuming is the water pump. Is the water pump located just below and to the left of the battery? It's the CBZA engine 2011. If it is the pump what is the likely cost of replacement, in hours of labour and parts? Thanks for your help. Steve
  4. After going out yesterday I'm happy to say that the car is running A1, 100%. I'm just going to assume it was indeed poor quality petrol. The turbo is now definitely working, with hindsight I don't think it was earlier in the week. I don't know if poor quality petrol would stop the turbo working. Thanks to all of you for your comments/ thoughts with diagnosis. Steve
  5. Edbostan, I will try this later, thanks. The story so far. I put a shot of Redex into half a tank on Monday and to my amazement things improved a fair bit. Then on Friday I put €40 of petrol from Cicle K and another shot of Redex and a much further improvement. The tickover has now returned to around 700 rpm from earlier in the week when it was 1100rpm. I shall see how things are today. I'm thinking it was poor quality fuel as the Redex may have given it a boost. But the biggest improvement was the fresh petrol. Regards Steve
  6. I don't know to tell the truth. It's never been quick but now it's very slow.
  7. Code P3OC000 fuel quality poor. I filled tank nearly full and now it's half way down, so doubt it's poor quality fuel.
  8. Good day, I need some advice on 2011 roomster 1.2tsi 86hp model. This morning I set off and all seemed well at first, then it started to struggle uphill a bit and the arrow gear indicator told me to drop down a gear, I did that and it just revved more but no appreciative increase in speed. Even at 60mph when it met a hill it would tell me to drop down even when not necessary, I couldn't seem to get more than 60mph. I noticed when parking up after the journey thar it seems to be ticking over at 1000rpm, when usually it tics over at 700rpm. The revs are steady and not wavering. I fitted new plugs, leads, air filter, oil and filter some 1000miles ago. Any advice would be welcome. Regards Stephen
  9. Xman Xman, yes only ever hand tighten the oil filter and lube up the rubber seal and clean the metal surface it sits on. Perhaps I'll just tighten it finger tight in the future. But surely that's academic if it's the wrong filter? I've now ordered a Mann filter I'm done with Bosch.
  10. Here are a couple of pics of the Bosch F 026 407 183 which looks more like a Bosch F 026 407 181. Am I correct?
  11. I changed my oil and filter last week and my 1.2tsi CBZA engine has been making a knocking rattling noise occasionally. It starts up quiet and makes the noise when hot and ticking over, a few revs and it quietens down again. It doesn't do it all the while. I've had my head in tatters with trying to figure out what went wrong. Thought it was the oil. I purchased oil and filter from Micksgarage.com based in Dublin. It was a Bosch F 026 407 183 it indeed has that on the box and printed on the filter itself. So have taken the oil filter out and it is indeed a Bosch F 026 407 181 , incorrectly labelled as a 183, as you describe without the rubber thingy. I have only done a couple of hundred miles with this wrong filter , just hope no long term damage. Thank you Xman for alerting us all to this Bosch **** up mess, which could have proven expensive.
  12. Update. Ignition leads changed and it's running like a formula one car. Can't believe what difference new plugs and leads make.
  13. I changed the spark plugs this morning and according to the last receipt there should have been NGK plugs, but by some miracle they had Bosch written on them. Anyway, the little plastic things that are attached at the bottom of the plug lead seem to be broken, well 3 out of four. Started car anyway not expecting much it was ticking over nice and definitely quieter drove off but by the time 3rd gear it started misfiring. So have ordered new leads. Should I order a new coil as well?
