  1. Thank you, I'll try it next time I see them.
  2. Thanks! I tried it on an iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3 and S2 and it was the same for all 3, so I imagine it's not the actual phone device. Hmm.....
  3. Hey all, Just picked up my Mum's Citigo yesterday. Lovely drive! Anyway, I connected her phone and all telephone calls, music or anything via Bluetooth comes out of the left door speaker only (2 speaker car). On FM/CD/Aux, it works fine, so the speakers are properly connected. Someone please tell me the BT isn't mono/left speaker only! She uses Spotify for her music so needs the streaming BT audio. We haven't plugged the PID into a PC yet (they've just moved house so everything is in boxes). Is that likely to solve it, or is this a 'by design' thing? Cheers! PS. Went and sat in the Octavia III today - wow. I love the expensive sound the doors make when you close them!
  4. I'm in Bristol - where could I get these things done to my Mum's Citigo?
  5. Even though the actual paint is fine? Is there no way to repair lacquer?
  6. Are you saying it needs a whole new paint job?
  7. So it's January, it's snowing in the UK (for a change) and I got home one day to see about a foot of snow on my car. I thought I'd manually remove it from the roof with my window scraper, I honestly don't know what I was thinking because when it dried off the next day, this is what my roof looked like! EVERYWHERE! Anyway, it seems like I haven't actually scraped any paint off - just the lacquer. The next photo shows this as some of the light red has peeled to reveal the actual paint work underneath (I know, it needs a clean!) Anyway, what on earth can I do? I'm fearing the loss of £500+
  8. Strange one Rod! Click here for the fuse layout, that should help. The thing about my guide is it pertains to a particular Octavia, so it's not guaranteed to work for every single Octavia as the wire layouts/colours tend to vary. Presumably with the 12v connection removed, everything in your car operates as normal (inc windows/mirrors?) If not you're probably right about the fuse. Rclick have various wiring layout guides based on whatever year of Octavia you have so make sure you're using the correct guide.
  9. Hey guys, I haven't posted in here for a while but I frequently get e-mails regarding the subject. I made this guide around 6 years ago now, so I'm happy to see it's still being used. What I can no longer say though is if the R-Click kits are the same anymore, they seem like they might be different from the one I've illustrated. Nonetheless, the car hasn't changed so in theory the connections should remain the same. Most of the queries here can be sorted out with a little patience and a multimeter - checking where flows of current go! Sadly I am too busy in my new career to maintain this thread so I hope you can all help each other. I will pop in from time to time to see how it's going. Best - Op.
  10. Just an update on this purely for the briskoda information knowledge base! Well I replaced the oil pressure sensor and it didn't fix it. Took off the crankcase breather and it was full of gunk! Anyway the engine didn't seem to be breathing properly so that certainly helped. Gave it a reasonably drive and it was fine! However after 20 minutes, it went again. :/ Stopped, rang AA and when the guy was checking it over, he realised on removing the dipstick that the oil was really over viscous, not far off water consistency. Fortunately I broke down outside a garage, they emptied the oil, flushed it, replaced the oil and the filter. Ever since it's been fine!!
  11. Yes to both of your questions, I've just hit 60K three days ago, so I think it's service time anyway....the oil I use was just Halfords 10w40. Bugger. I have VAGCOM etc, is this something I can check using this (ie if the sensor is playing up or the pressure of the oil?)
  12. Hey all, Today the red oil pressure light started flashing and remained flashing until I managed to just get home. This isn't the first time however.... I got it briefly yesterday on a short trip and it went off again,(when I was going around a bend incidentally). Got home and realised the oil was low so today I topped it right up. Started a new journey and it was fine for 10 mins, but then it came on again an didn't turn off. In fact it only appears after a small amount of driving, never when it's turned on from cold. 2 things I've noticed recently (might be unrelated): The engine temp only gets to around 1/4 of the way instead of 1/2, has done for a while. I had this 2 years ago and replaced the sensor which fixed it. I'm also under the min level on the engine coolant (not drastically but noticeably). Is this going to be a hugely expensive dealer repair? I'm a poor student! :-/ Thanks all *Edit* I should add, the engine is making a slightly fluttery noise too, which I'm sure is new!
  13. WHOOPS! You'll never believe what I did today, I went to fill up my empty windscreen washer tank with fluid and ended up filling it up with engine coolant! What should I do (short of draining the system). Would diluting it and manually spraying it out work before filling it with actual windscreen washer? Cheers, J PS. They were the same colour fluid and I didn't look!!
  14. Hey all, I would like to be able to use my Android Phone with the Torque Pro piece of software - however I need to acquire a BT plug for the car. Do you know if this would suffice? Thanks! **Update** Don't worry, it is - found it on a compatibility list on the manufacturers website!
  15. Cool okay. Any tips on removal of the card?
  16. Okay so brief synopsis.... - Argument with girlfriend in car - She gets out and slams the passenger door as hard as she can - Window was open at the time - Electric window won't close anymore Glass seems intact, is it likely it's just dislodged? Any ideas?
  17. Thanks both of you. Do you know which size is suitable fabdavrav?
  18. Dear all, I need a new battery! I bought one off Tayna.co.uk in Feb 2009 and it's dead already! I did buy the cheapest one going but still... Anyway, I'm looking at the updated fitment guide on Tayna and it says I need a "Type 027" whereas the old fitment guide says I need a "Type 75". I'm confused as to which, can anyone help me because the last one I got was a 75. The Varta web site also says 27?! Is it just sizing? Type 75 Type 27 I am going to buy the Varta silver dynamic from whichever of the types above is correct. Many thanks!! PS Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V (2000 - Y reg) Jon
  19. It's too hard. I gave up. Garage will do it! As for the code clearing...I found it worked when there was just one code per module, but any more than that and it won't...
  20. Thanks Apogee, of course you can use my photograph(s) in your guide Okay I can sense the dark is coming so I will have a bash at it tomorrow.... My only reservation is this.....will it actually gush like turning a tap on full (ie is there lots of pressure when it's stone cold)? I'm just worried about it covering the internals of my engine bay and it's contents!! Thanks again PS. Is it a problem getting coolant all over your hands? (Presuming I don't lick them afterwards?) PPS. I saw your updated guide, you can link the image directly if it helps, instead of just linking to the post Apogee!
  21. Oh nuts. I had five minutes spare today and I thought I'd have a go. Hahaha, five minutes - talk about super optimistic. Why must my Fabia be the difficult one?? It's really hard to get the engine cover off because it seems to have pipes attached to it (see below) I'm pretty sure this is where the sensor it, but it points down and it's in a really really awkward position. No doubt if I try to take this out, coolant will go everywhere!!! Is this it? Any ideas how I go about it? I want to avoid garage fees and learn about my car!!! Thanks
  22. Phew - well that's a relief as I only bought the new sensor anyway! Where the hell do I find where to put it is the question!? Don't really want to pay a garage £40 to fit a £8.50 part!!
  23. You beauty. I will try just replacing the sensor as it's only a tenner and see how that goes. As for the PAS, I may just get my local garage to do it for me. I'll keep you updated on my progress!! Thanks again Apogee.
