  1. Nice one! Will be interesting to see how it goes compare to the diesel. On the one I have (diesel), the fans do come on quite often, and my turning guy said that I should not chip it as the cooling was at the limit. It will be interesting to see if the petrol does the same. What options did you get to tick? When we looked, I think all we could have gotten was changing the seats so they could be cooled, and the steering wheel (from memory). Apart from that, it didn't really have any other ones.
  2. No, using a PC. From what I have read on this forum, it's most likely to do with the software version I have installed on my unit here in Oz.
  3. I'm in Australia and have had no luck.. It looks like you need a software update to get it to work, more here: Installing an update from the USB stick - Page 2 - MIB3 (Modular Infotainment Kit 3) - Škoda KodiaQ Forum a modern community (skoda-kodiaq-forum.de)
  4. MIB3 is supposed to be faster, but not better in my books. They seemed to drop the personalisation options, DAB radio and the ability to update the maps on MIB 3.. I do like the wireless android auto (when it doesn't keep on dropping off), but would like the other features listed above that were in MIB2. I don't know how it can be called an update when they remove such useful features.
  5. I've tried OTA, no luck. I've tried via USB (c) with adapters, no luck. I tried via the dealer this week when we had the 1st year service, no luck. They were having 'problems' with their computers. I think there is a larger issue with MIB3 and updates. I can download the maps ok, but not update. I'm in Australia, so might be local for me. I've got a Kodiaq RS.
  6. I've tried this, and it's not working for me. I've tried a few USB-c adapters, no luck. I also purchased a USB-C drive, but still no luck. I just had the 1 year service done at the dealer, and asked them to update the maps, and they said they could not as they were having 'problems' with their system/computers... They advised I could come back in the 'future' and get it done, it will take about an hour.. So, I think there is something bigger going on with updating the maps on MIB3... unless anybody else has been successful? I have a Kodiaq RS MY2021
  7. I thought I'd just close this one off. I've actually gotten through to a decent person at my dealer who has been working with Skoda Australia. For myself, I ended up getting 3 year free service package. I would have still preferred the personalisation option and DAB+ to be honest.
  8. Just an update on this one. I'm in Australia, and complained to my dealer about this as I was not told that user personalisation and DAB+ were not in the 'new model'.... Like you, dealer was 'surprised' that it didn't come in the MY21 model and wasn't told. Anyway, cut a long story short. I complained that this was not acceptable (not telling me that these features were not in the 'new' model) and managed to get a free 3 years servicing out of them. To be honest, I would rather of had the DAB+ and personalisation. My wife and I are quite different sizes, so we have to press the button on the seat each time we drive (and me getting in the car after her using it means that I'm hitting the steering wheel when I get in!). Oh well, first World problems 🙂
  9. We actually haven't been out at night yet! From what I can see so far (in the garage), they are going to be excellent.... Bring on winter!
  10. I've experienced the same thing with MIB3 vs MIB2. My mate has a MY20 Kodiaq with MIB2 and has functions that we don't have in the 'newer' MIB3. As above, I'm sure that they are pushing people to use carplay/android auto, that way, they don't have to spend the $$ on developing MIB3 as much as they used to have. One good thing is you should now have wireless charging and wireless CP/AA, which seems to be the only bonus (would be good if they could change the dash so that it takes a small map from AA/CP).
  11. Ok, stupid Noob question on the internal lights. Yes, should have looked at the buttons AND read the manual! Page 136 in my manual (Owner's Manual Skoda Kodiaq) is about ACC. Nothing in there at all about DAB. Under the index, it has Radio, then is says 'see digital version of the manual!'
  12. Another strange one that I've noticed. the internal lights don't come on when you unlock or even open the doors. Might be something to do with the massive sunroof? There is a button on the dash to turn the rears ones on, but that's it. Couldn't find anything in the settings/car config...
  13. Thanks for that linni. I'm just in contact with rosstech to get an upgrade on my old cable (tradein). I'm sure it will take a few weeks to come, but should be worth it :-)
  14. Just further, there is a 'blanking plate' in the glove box (bottom one) that looks like it was a CD/DVD player and/or SD drive... Note that there is induction charging on this one, and that it also has android auto via bluetooth. USB connectivity is via USB3 as well now..
  15. I've been told it's a MIB3... I find it a bit strange that the MY20 same car (rs) had DAB+ and personalistaion, and this one does not. I've got an older vagcom/vcds (the version that is not locked to a particular vin) so I can plug in and do a bit of digging.... Any ideas where/what I should be looking for?
  16. No DAB option at all as well. All stations are just FM (we actually use DAB+ here in Oz). No firmware updates either, seems I have the latest.. This is what is on the system..
  17. I just checked again, there is no settings for Personalisation on my car unfortunately.
  18. nice one Robert. I'm on the Northern beaches of Sydney (south side) so in part lockdown.. Hopefully will get some good news today that we can go around a bit more so I can actually take the car out!
  19. I thought it might be to do with saving some 'memory' on the unit now that Android Auto is fully wireless (and works nicely). I'll do some more investigation when my wife comes back home!
  20. Where abouts are you Captanharlock? Might be a country specific thing... (I'm in Australia)..
  21. Ok, thanks again. Dealer just rang me (he's a nice guy) and read out a 'Service Bulletin'. Apparently DAB has been removed, and also the 'key customisation/personalisation' has also been removed in MY21.... Very interesting to know why Skoda would have done this (simply dumb?) and also if this can be turned back on with Carista or something similar... Might be worth me investing in one (I'll have to do some research on what to get, I'm used to vagcom/vcds for my old Audi)...
  22. Thanks for this one too mate. There doesn't seem to be a 'car' module anymore that I could find. From the main 'menu' options, there is just Settings, and radio/ satnav etc.. I'm trying to find a better example (and will take a quick video when the car is back home), but it's like this one I could find (home, Menu on the left).. Look at 2:39 mins onward and you can see the two 'screens' that I see with the same options. ops, didn't include video.. 2020 Skoda Columbus infotainment: 9.2-inch expert review, with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto | 4K - YouTube
  23. awesome, thanks varaderoguy... I'll check it out when the misses comes home... I when to 'system settings' or something similar (can't remember exact words) and couldn't see any available updates for any of the entries (it didn't show 'up-to-date' or anything like that, just nothing in the list)... I'll see if I can work out where 'firmware update' is on mib3.. I just went to the update site, nothing for my VIN according to it.. Update portal (skoda-auto.com)
  24. Hi Guys, Just picked up a brand new race blue RS on New Years Eve. Was a bit surprised to find no DAB radio, that was in the MY20 model (ok, so more annoyed that surprised)... Can anybody confirm if that was an 'option' that the sales guy forgot to tell me about, or has it for some unknown reason, been removed from the car? Second question is to do with 'personalisation' of the car. On the infotainment system, I can't seem to find any personalisation options, which I believe that were on the previous model. So if the missues or I go in to the car, it will be 'configured' for her settings etc. Third, I've read a few posts on the 'fogging of the front lights'...Below are pics we are getting. The car has only done about 30 kays since new, this is on day 2 of pickup. Car was in garage prior to this, then I drove to my brothers place about 10 kays away to show him. He pointed out the lights.... I'm presuming not even worth mentioning to the Skoda dealer? Lastly, did anybody get a 'medical kit' in their car? Mine has the space in the boot with the symbol, but no kit in there. Just want to make sure that's 'normal' and it hasn't just walked whilst in transit, or at the dealers. Thanks to all in advance, and Happy New Year (hopefully better than last year!)
  25. Just joining this from from wet Sydney Australia :-) Just took delivery of MY21 Kodiaq RS in race blue. Fantastic car, but only done 30 kays so far, so not really experienced it. Hoping to get some help on a few questions, so I hope I post in the right section.
