  1. Yes, slow start up, re-setting etc. Although, I found that taking my older USB stick out and replacing with a new version, reduced this. Also found that sometimes with android auto, the music would not start and the volume wouldnt work either on the steering wheel or the slide bar.
  2. After significant problems with my Octavia mkiV, I am thinking about rejecting the car and replacing it with a mark III later model with the 1.5 petrol engine. My MK IV has the kangerooing issue. If people have the 1.5 petrol, is it okay, are there any issues I need to be aware of. Thank you in advance
  3. So it seems that Nosnehm reported this in November, so assuming some others around the country did as well, Skoda UK should have known about the issue, and continued to sell First Editions. Would we agree that seems a sensible conclusion? I have started the rejecton process and am waiting to hear what my dealership will offer me as a 'buy back'.
  4. Yes, how is the loan Octavia?
  5. Many thanks. I am trying to establish that there are many of us who bought the car when Skoda knew there was a problem and yet they continued to sell the car, rather than taking them off the market. This may help the case for a number of people on here who are in the process of rejecting the cars.
  6. A question. Can people on here confirm when they contacted Skoda UK or their garage regarding the KPH Issue. I am trying to pinpoint when Skoda would have known about this problem. The comments started in September but I don't know if it was reported up to Skoda customer services. Thanks in advance.
  7. It doesn't. I nearly crashed because of the emergency breaking system and the dealership have said the car didn't log it! Amazing.
  8. I am in just this position, and am wondering the same. Do I accept a replacement. I am tempted to stipulate that I will only accept a very newly produced car.
  9. I was told I was getting a car the same size as my Octavia. I got a Kamiq! Nice car, but now we can go further afield, it is impossible to get the kids bikes in the back. Very frustrating.
  10. To answer your question: nothing as yet. Mine went in on April 7th and I have heard nothing at all. When I handed my car over, I gave them a list of 8 things I wanted them to look at. I was told it would be at least 2 weeks. I would have thought some kind of update would have been nice by now. Odd. I sent him an update and he got back to me on the same day. He has contacted Skoda again.
  11. What DM Keith have told you is rubbish as you say. None if them have been fixed as yet.
  12. The issue is that there will be hundreds of us with early versions which are sick and tired of complaining because a car that costs thousands doesn't work! I expected there to be a couple of issues but what we are facing is ridiculous.
  13. Ive got a Kamiq. Nice car but I am now seeing that as things are opening up and I am travelling with the two kids, the boot just isn't big enough.
  14. Hi all, I would recommend that those of us who have emailed HJ do so again to update on where we are. I have just done so. I am frustrated by the indefinite time frame being given to sort this problem. Whilst I like the hire car, I have kids and I am terrified about them breaking something or scratching something! I want to know soon if and when my car can be sorted.
  15. Absolutely this! I'm afraid I don't have a great deal of confidence that they will fix the 'kangerooing' or the KPH Issue. If there are any problems at all after they hand the car back, I intend to reject. In fact, if I get anything wrong on the drive home from picking it up, I will drive straight back and demand that the return process is started. I have the Kamiq, and although not impressed to begin with, it is great. To start with, I get in it with every confidence that it will work! The systems, though older work much better. I will keep my fingers crossed about my car because it has everything I need, but I have really lost confidence in it. Let's hope they sort it! I am now very tempted by a Karoq though!
  16. All the very best to you. I hope the Tiguan is good.
  17. That is worrying.
  18. Car only went in today. Been told it is likely to be with them for at least a fortnight. I have given the dealership 8 things to look at whilst they are at it. Been given a Kamiq. Now, the Kamiq is reviewed highly by seemingly all reviews. First drive and it rattles alot! Otherwise okay, but it certainly makes yoy appreciate the Octavia (when it works).
  19. This is what I was staggered about. Mine was an ex demonstrator as well. It is impossible to think that the person driving it before me didn't know there were problems. I got a call to say I had a kamiq. Will be interested to see what it is like!
  20. It's no problem. They are sorting me with a replacement until they can sort it. I'm told it will be something of Octavia or bigger so it will be nice to drive something else! I don't mind as long as it comes back sorted, and if my car is used as a test to get everyone of the others sorted, then so be it.
  21. I've also mentioned the slow/delayed front and rear assist and have also been told that is the way it is. Its last making me slow things down, which may be no bad thing!
  22. An update. My car is going to be kept by Skoda for 2-3 weeks whilst they try and solve the KPH issue. The person o am dealing with at Skoda is very good and the communication is excellent. She is really pushing the case and they are aware of the legalities of situation. Whilst there mine is having the 'kangerooing' engine and other things looked at. I am hoping that the time frame we are looking at is going to be 2-3 weeks for the KMH fix to be sorted. There certainly has been alot of contact with the factory by all accounts. Good news hopefully.
  23. Mine is the same. Feels sluggish until you get to higher speeds and then it is good.
  24. I wrote a letter to the MD of Skoda and as a result of that I got a call. Maybe worth trying that. I am expecting a call soon about any update to the situation.
  25. Apparently, their systems were down on Thursday. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I sent a letter to the MD and that is where Ms Kennan contacted me. If still worried, I would contact her. She seems very attentive and keen to find a resolution.
