  1. Just picked up my RS and I'm still on software 1668 with device part number 5E3035816C, which tells me the magic update mentioned in this thread is not yet widely available. Better luck in 4kkm, when I'll take it in for an oil change.
  2. I booked my RS (mid November manuf. date) for the "June OCTAVIA upgrade" for next Tuesday. I'm currently on rev. C, sw version 1668. Hopefully this is the one that fixes my bluetooth and WAA issues. I'll post an update next week.
  3. AFAIK yes, a hardware revision. Apparently older HW part numbers have issues with 5Ghz WiFi that is a prerequisite for Wireless Android Auto. They also seemed to fix some bluetooth issues that were present on the "older models". You can talk to your dealer about this (but I doubt they have any knowledge of this) but I'm guessing all we can do for now is wait for Skoda (like some miracle) to bless us with an update that fixes these issues. I've heard of cases where they flat out denied that Wireless Android Auto is even available, when it clearly works on parts D and E with software 1788.
  4. Can also confirm this. Took my RS to the dealer two weeks ago and they updated from 1666 do 1688. This made no effect on my bluetooth NOT connecting automatically. As far as 1788 goes, for the time being, only cars with "Device part number (5E3035816_) ending in D and E can be updated to this version. Not sure if Skoda plans on providing this update for those of us that have C and below. Also, Wireless Android Auto works only on the above mentioned part numbers (D ane E) running version 1788.
  5. I just assumed that this guy here in Slovenia uses VCDS. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mtl.si%2Fsl%2Favto-storitve%2Fvkljucitev-dodatnih-funkcionalnosti%2Fvw-golf-8%2C-škoda-octavia-4%2C-seat-leon-4%2C-audi-a3-8y.html The translation is a bit wonky, but you can hopefully understand what options he can enable with whatever software he uses.
  6. RIght now there is no option keep the driving mode in memory, however it can be enabled with most OBD apps. If you don't care about warranty, my advice would be you find someone that uses VCDS to code VAG group cars.
  7. I've spoken to someone that codes VAG cars using VCDS. He mentioned he noticed a setting to turn on 5Ghz Wifi. If all else fails, there's still hope this switch does something. This thing, which is still in development, looks promising though. It sucks, having to add additional costs for something we already payed for. The most expensive beta testing I've ever done.
  8. You'd see something like this. Note the text "DCC with driving profile selection" on the upper left of the screen.
  9. Mostly highway, driving to and from work, between 110 - 140 km/h. Edit: anyone else's RS displaying ~50km range while still having >8L of fuel in the tank?
  10. Asked my dealer if he can confirm this (I'm from Slovenia) as this would be comedic at best. There is absolutely no reason why an RS (ordered 28.9., delivered 23.12.) couldn't have this function. Sys info from mine:
  11. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.skodacommunity.de%2Fthreads%2Fandroid-auto-wireless.135147%2Fpage-2 https://www.reddit.com/r/skoda/comments/kdjp0w/android_auto_wireless_octavia_4_2020/ Based from these posts there seems to be a lack of 5Ghz WiFi in the new Octavia. The hardware is moslt likely capable, but they are yet to enable it software side.
  12. Nice. I was thinking of wrapping the front aswell so it won't be full of paint chips in a year.
  13. Are you wraping the whole car? How much is the estimation?
  14. Yes, I have. No change. Both phones tested are on Android 11 and 5Ghz compatible. So you have no experience with the MY2020/2021 Octavia? I've talked to multiple new Octavia owners outside this forum and they've this same issue. It's not just us being incompetent, but rather a larger issue.
  15. Exact same on mine. The only thing I've found in the manual is this: So I'll just take a guess here and say that it likely doesn't work for anybody. Maybe some select phones, like some Samsung models, but definitely not for every other compatible android phone. I've tried with teo Pixel phones running Android 11 and couldn't connect either.
  16. Ordered end of september. I also remember the actuator being in the options list and I remember not selecting it. I just thought they were going to install it no mater what I choose. To be honest I'm kinda glad they didn't.
  17. It should, and AFAIK, it works with Apple Carplay. SCALA and KAMIQ support it and I've also seen YouTube vids where they connect wirelessly in a Kodiaq. No reason why the newest Octavia wouldn't. I'm going to contact my dealer once nonessential services open up again. Here's hoping they'll push some software update to fix this for us Android users.
  18. I was on the fence between Steel Grey and Candy White, but then decided on the grey. I think a white RS would stand out too much as I prefer a more "sleeper" look.
  19. I've tried pretty much every tip and trick I managed to find on the internet, yet for some reason my Pixel 2 XL does not want to start AA wirelessly. It's quite frustrating.
  20. Hey folks, here's mine on the showroom floor: And here's one on a rainy winter day:
  21. Oddly enough, mine doesn't have this either. I have DCC, but can't seem to find it in the Mode Settings menu where it's supposed to be. I thought all RS's came standard with this. :)
