Windshield wiper getting stuck behind the other
Bought the car around a month ago, little more. Have not used the vipers much, but as much as I used, did not notice that problem. Visually, vipers look like new tbh. Gonna check the blades, maybe they really are wrong way round, size seems okay though.

Windshield wiper getting stuck behind the other
Here's a video of what's happening, don't have to watch the whole vid, just to get the idea. https://streamable.com/0pd6p5 When in service position, left wiper moves left/right much more than the right as well, not sure how that mechanism works but maybe there's a loose screw?

Warning light popped up
I think it might be because I haven't been driving a lot lately, all i do is to work and school both once or twice a week

Warning light popped up
Out of nowhere, a warning light popped up on my dash, it's funny because i passed the inspection until 2023 like a couple days ago. Googled the problem, seems like it might be related to emissions. I've also read it can disappear after driving 60km/h for 15 minutes. Anyone had experiences with this warning light? Should i be worried? https://ibb.co/ftsLSbH

How serious is this damage?
Yes but there's always a ballpark

How serious is this damage?
What if I go to a mechanic or a place where professionals do it, how costly would that be? Would they be using similar methods to a heat gun? Thanks for the info!

How serious is this damage?
So i backed into the post, it was dark, my window was icey so u couldn't see much there either. Anyway, I'm quite new to such things, never had any damage done to any of my cars. So I'd like to know how serious is this damage on my back bumper? Would it be expensive to fix it and how exactly such thing is fixed? Octavia vRS 2011. Thanks for all the info!

Battery dead, any way to unlock?
I have the wires to connect it to another car battery but I can't unlock the car, i only can open the hood from the inside. Tried the key thing, no signs of door being open nor frozen, simply locked

Side mirror falling out
Yeah, good you noticed, wonder how it should look originally, I guess in my case, to avoid buying a new mirror, I could get something sticky there so it doesn't fall out, if it falls out again. Double sided adhesive might do the job

Side mirror falling out
Yeah it's 2011 MK2 vRS 2.0 147kW, when I last time checked, when it fell out, all the pins etc seemed to be okay, I didn't take the left mirror out since I didn't want two mirrors with that problem haha. I pushed it it and also tried moving around once again, don't remember the click, but it seems to be not falling out. Thanks for the info!

Side mirror falling out
I've read a post on this forum about someone having a problem, but it's quite old, hopefully it's okay if I revive this topic. I recently purchased 2011 Octavia vRS, couldn't be happier, but since the car is not new and it's used, there's obviously some problems. So, I closed the passenger door and the mirror fell out, not a pleasant surprise, but it seems not to be broken from the inside, so I attached it back somehow, it fell out again a couple of times, but now since the last attachment it seems to be fine(regulating mirrors from the inside plus closing the door and still not falling out). I don't want to leave it like that and I will post a photo of the mirror from the inside if it falls out again, I also noticed that there's a little crack that goes from the front to the back of the side mirror, here are the photos of the crack: Should I be concerned? Any tips on how to proceed with the matter? Also is it really that common or simply bad luck? That topic from 2011 or so seemed to have a good amount of people with a similar problem!

Cleaning side windows from the inside?
Definitely not going to do it every week haha, but will try, thanks! I recently bought the car, dirt in there seems to scratch the window a little at this point, so will try to clean it asap!

Cleaning side windows from the inside?
Okay so when I roll down the windows(at least the driver side one), I can hear that something's scratching it when it rolls down, is there any easy way to clean it from the inside somehow? Car is Octavia MKII 2011 if that's important.

Timing chain tensioner - is it really that common?
Thanks for the reply! I'm by no means an expert, but I'll take a peek under the hood and listen for weird sounds, since there's no papers that indicate chain replacement, I'll probably simply offer 800 EUR less than the car is,better safe than sorry!

Are those cars(2011 vRS) really known for bad reliability or you just were that unlucky one?

Timing chain tensioner - is it really that common?
New to Skoda in general and about to go and see the Octavia vRS I'm interested in, but there's just so much talk about tensioner failure, I'm kinda scared. Engine is CCZA - 2.0 147kw 2011 Octavia vRS, 153,000KM driven. First of all, is it true? Is it a case where people talk about their problems, but they don't talk as much if everything is working well? Or tensioners on that engine really do tend to break? There's a rattle if the tensioner is about to break or it happens out of the blue? From what I read there should be a concerning sound, how audible is that? Anyone got an example? The owner said that previous owner told him that it has been replaced, but there's no papers, since it was not done with the official dealer, current owner trusted previous owner and is implying that yes it has been changed according to what he was told and he trusted previous owner, but there's no paperwork. Should I lower the price? Should I trust the seller? Should I contact that previous seller to verify that claim? (found him on Facebook) Also if there's anything else I need to look out for, please let me know. I need a new car but I'm not really in a position to spend thousands on new engine. Other than that, pretty decent amount of work has been done on the car, has been maintained and DSG has been repaired/maintained, cost a little under 1k EUR.

Cambelt change
Might be, when I refill my car after driving with low fuel, it feels smoother and nicer lol.

Looking to buy Octavia vRS 2011 - what to look for?
Sorry for bumping this thread again, but i got some info! So, the owner told me that he was told by the previous owner that it has been changed before him, but there was no paperwork, if it really has been done then it was not at the official dealer. I will go and check the car in a couple of days, while the seller seems trustworthy, provided me with all the info, even the pictures of the accidents the car has had, I'm not sure about that, I'd probably try to ask for a decent price reduction and change chain tensioner along side with the chain itself.

Looking to buy Octavia vRS 2011 - what to look for?
Current owner sent me some paperwork on stuff that's been done, pretty big repair of DSG(since guys who were servicing the vehicle broke mechatronics something something(worth 1.2k), they had to replace it for free), other than that total was 927 EUR, which is quite a bit. Quite hard to translate as a non car guy haha. Basically that car has been maintained and photos of the accidents show that those are nothing, some scratches here and there. One thing I did not see is the timing chain and tensioner replacement, going to ask the owner if he's done it, and if not then pretty much this!
