  1. Hi All, Is there a guide on here of how to change the crankshaft sensor. A garage has told me it's knackered but I was thinking of doing it myself. TIA. I have a 2007 Fabia 2 1.4TDI.
  2. Thanks for the replies everyone If it's only £80ish in labour I think I'll get it in a garage.
  3. Is it a hard job to change them? Thinking of doing it myself.
  4. Cheers Carlston, I'll get these ordered.
  5. Thanks Murdockman
  6. Hi All, One of my front springs has snapped. I've had a look online and come across onlinecarparts.co.uk. They are around the 20 to 30 quid mark. Would these be any good or has anyone bought any from there? TIA
  7. Yeah the control unit is part of the window motor assembly. It's behind the drivers door card. 3 screws hold the motor assembly on. I replaced mine myself. The part number is on a sticker on the motor. Mine cost £214 new from a local Skoda dealer.
  8. I had the same problem with my windows, It was the drivers door control unit. I replaced it then all was good.
  9. The front speakers are a component set and I think the rear door speakers are co ax. I'd like more volume as the speakers distort. I have the same size front speakers in my Focus ST and that sounds alot better so I was wondering if anyone else had upgraded and if they had any recommendations.
  10. Hi All, I've upgraded the stereo with a pioneer unit and would now like to upgrade the speakers. I have thought about 6x9s in the back or replacing the fronts. Can anyone recommend front replacement speakers. It's in a mk2 2007. TIA
  11. Oh ok I'll have a look the weekend, Thanks for the replies
  12. It's the whole gearstick that's easy to push down and that twists not just the knob.
  13. Hi All, My gear stick is really easy to push down and when you go for reverse it twists anti clockwise by 90degrees. Is it a replacement that's needed or is it repairable? I have a 2007 1.4 TDI. TIA
  14. My windows were not working, It turned out to be the control unit in the drivers door. I bought a new one from a Skods dealer.
  15. Yeah does it from both switches mate, I'll have a look later. Thanks
  16. So I've replaced the drivers door control unit with a new one from Skoda. The windows are working but the passenger side is working the wrong way round, Press buttons down and window goes up. If you use the key in the door the drivers side window goes up but passenger window goes down Any ideas anyone? TIA
  17. Sorry UrbanPanzer you're right. So it seems someones fitted the wrong one.
  18. All the ones on ebay with that part number say drivers door for a mk 1. They couldn't make this easy could they 😄
  19. Hi all, I've put a couple of posts on here regarding my windows not working and now I've been told it's the window control unit. I have a mk 2 on a 2007 plate. I've taken a picture of my motor and it seems to be a mk 1 motor with the part number 6Y2959801. Is this the correct motor for it. I bought the car cheap with the windows not working so I'm wondering if they tried fixing it and put the wrong motor in it. Does anyone know the correct part number please? TIA
  20. It was an aftermarket switch
  21. I don't know if it it was genuine or not. Got it from Amazon
  22. Cheers mate. The passenger window doesn't work from the drivers side. I've replaced the switch still not working. The switches work the opposite way as in push down to make the windows go up. One touch operation doesn't work. I have to reset the windows by putting the keg in the drivers door to get them working then they only work for a short while.
  23. God knows mate, Got a garage looking at it tomorrow so hopefully sort it
  24. My buttons work the opposite way. Pull up for the window to go down which is weird.
  25. Thanks for the reply, I will try this later. I've replaced the switch but the problem remains. If no luck I have a hammer that can open windows 😁
