That would explain why there are no instructions regarding fitting a spring when assembling the filter and cap, if it's supposed to go inside the cap which doesn't need opening 🤔😂

It does look like this, it actually came apart when removing the old filter but it clicked back together. Those are 2 different springs however, one in the cap and the large one from the picture in ebay, my car didn't have the big one was just wondering about the assembly 🤔 can't find any images from manuals or even oil change videos that would include that spring, suppose it could go inside the filter as well, then join the small black part with the silver spring?

Does anyone know where the spring is supposed to go inside the housing?

New one fitted 😉

That's it sorted, all it took was a brave recovery call and a helpful technician with an impact wrench, amused the man on Sunday night 😂

I was just using the 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets, the stupid thing has started to wear, the sockets won't fit properly and I don't want to end rounding it 🙄

I only got spanners and sockets, no fancy tools and the shops are closed 😕 thought perhaps someone stronger than I could help, last time it came off no problem must have been over tightened then 😩

I dread to ask, but.. Does anyone know the part numbers for front and rear drop links for a 2008 octavia? 😩 Would like to make sure that I order the right ones for my car. It's a 2.0 tdi pd vrs (I don't know if those parts changed on different models perhaps). Many thanks

car is a 2008 Octavia gearbox code KDS . Gearbox rattles in 4th and 6th gear, drives ok in other gears. The garage advised to have the gearbox repaired at a specialist. Has anyone ever bought a remanufactured gearbox, fitted it in their car then sent their old box back? Is there a company that will take my old box in exchange- just looking to cut down the cost atm. Ebay search proved unsuccessful. or is it not worth the risk and it's best to fix my old one. I swear this car is going to do my head in 😑

Soo, you were obviously right🙄 they sent out an email that there's 60quid outstanding balance due (interesting as like I said I ran the same quote and made sure I put in the correct data and the quote I received from them was even lower!) it has happened indeed because I owned the car a year shorter than stated-wonder if the a... know it was actually purchased in December, not January, and the v5 ain't a proof of purchase! Smart way for them to make some. Extra money out of me i suppose - I've obviously cancelled but they still get to retain the bloody cancellation fee. Just goes to show you, I should have cancelled first thing and it wouldn't have cost me as much nerves

Oh I've seen that post.. As if I was going to drive a car without holding a valid licence.. Why does their message state they may need to amend the policy though?. It kinda sounds like it is bound to be amended for some reason or another, or cancelled altogether 🤷🏻‍♀️ I really hate this part of owning a car.
