car wobbling side to side at high speeds
Bump cause mine does the same.. I had her aligned in February and it was driving fab. Now its back to wobbling, the rear can't be aligned as the bolts are seized to the bushes - I'll begin there but it's some job... It feels awful to drive and affects the handling so just looking into what else it could be before I change half of the carπ

Reverse lights on and off
Fine, maybe I was being silly π what I'm thinking if the other wire needs soldered onto the plug, this could be done with the remaining one too, in the event of it snapping, π π I'll find out tomorrow a friend is bringing their soldering kit, seeing that I've only ever done some soldering comfortably on the bench and not bent over the car

Reverse lights on and off
well the wire snapped already so I'm not sure? I assumed the connector would turn too as I'm unscrewing it? am I being silly

Reverse lights on and off
If i unscrewed the whole switch, would it not be easier to remove the connector? is it worth a shot with a spanner?

Reverse lights on and off
screwdrivers work with college cars for me... when it comes to my own car I break everything π€¨ won't be the first plug I damage . Patience and practice I guess

Reverse lights on and off
I was , there was some play there but not enough, I was scared to break it. i have small hands and little confidence . thank you, I've watched and will practice on something more accessible, airflow meter sensor perhaps π

my MOT is coming up in a month, so it's a bit of a pain π

Reverse lights on and off
I know but I snapped off the blue wire ending that was sitting on the plug - so need the plug out to actually add wire to it to connect with the blue bit under the tape. So still need the plug off π Also this is the switch I bought (not saying I'm going to fit it) but it doesn't look complicated to plug in, how come is it so hard to unplug the current one?

Reverse lights on and off
they were, but because I break a lot of things I touch, the blue wire end disappeared π also which loom? the big loom at the headlight, or where it splits and feeds the motor starter I believe? thought of unplugging at the loom but there are too many wires i'd rather avoid unplugging everything if I can

Reverse lights on and off
The blu e wire has snapped off completely - I'd actually need to add some wire over there, so need to unplug it but the latch is actually at the bottom π€

Reverse lights on and off
Probably the switch and the connector, as the blue wire actually snapped and no i don't even have the end of it to solder π Is it easier to access the switch itself from the bottom of the car? There is some play at the lever, is that normal? I didn't want to mess with it not knowing what it is. Many thanks

Reverse lights on and off
Also how do you remove the actual reverse light switch? Kinda hard to get a hold of it

Reverse lights on and off
Apologies about a beginners question, how do I fix that? Would need to take the wire out to solder it at home - what's the way of doing it? The other end is inside plastic protector so can't actually find it

OEM caliper part number variations
I thought build code varies with every manufacturer? I've been browsing caliper carriers and it's the same thing ππ Looking to get a replacement for my trw- can't figure out which TRW fits my car.

OEM caliper part number variations
That's why I wanted to find the right number for it, initially the 2 I had was 1k0615424P and 1Z0615424. It happened to me before that a part arrived that was meant to fit my car but it didn't so I was trying to avoid the same mistake π I too find using OEM numbers a reliable method, but the different specs quoted really confused (and annoyed) me here. Glad I'm finally seeing the light π And BTW, your research abilities are amazing π thank you lots for help, I will update the thread once the correct caliper is fitted

OEM caliper part number variations
It's not only Autodoc, TRW website also suggests it's 38mm for 1 KP π however if you search by skoda part number, 1Z0615424 the result is 41mm piston, this gives me the option of buying BHS325. However I then again searched using my number plate, and the results were BHN952, 38mm π this takes the cake. Luckily there are cheap equivalents to bhs325 on ebay - I'll order and see how this drama ends. There's a stamp on my original caliper GNO 610/e but I couldn't find anything related to it π€·π»ββοΈ

OEM caliper part number variations
Where did you get that info? Asking out of curiosity. The website you quoted states its 38mm as well

OEM caliper part number variations
1KP is what it says in my service book. I've figured it's 1KP 282x12mm 38mm piston, despite that I'm finding different results, even on Autodoc the calipers matching the OEM are for 41mm piston diameter π€·π»ββοΈ I've ordered a trw BHN 952, I'll need to wait until it arrives to be sureπ shame cause I was hoping to get some cheap ones but all the different specifications confused me π

OEM caliper part number variations
Autodoc website gives me different results for the same OEM - different piston diameter and disc thickness. I need to get this right or the mechanic will kill me π

OEM caliper part number variations
This is more of a general question, as I haven't found information anywhere. I know all OEM VAG part numbers are similar, it's the letters following the number that vary. The part I need for my car is 1k0615424P. Does P only stand for the colour in this case? I've found several parts listed as equivalent to OEM 1K0615424 J, 1K0615424 D and 1K0615424 A, is that the same part just each VAG manufacturer uses a different number for it? I cannot find the exact specifications so I'm not sure it's the same dimensions and piston size. TRW website only returned 2 variants of caliper that'll fit my vrs, but ebay suggests there's more than 2. I'm more than happy to buy a remanufactured caliper so long as it fits? Don't wanna ask the seller as it happened to me before, I purchased parts I was told would fit my car but they didn't π€¨

Brilliant and relatable π€£ I got a massive headache. That's 2 cars of mine both technically non runners, I'm stranded here π€£ maybe I am no good with cars π

Rear and front drop links torque settings
Yes that's the one. I never got that far though, got. Stuck on stupid caliper carrier bolts, the whole thing appears to be a solid rusted mass. Off to the garage it'll go I'm afraid π
