original dog grid / grill for boot
Skoda call this item a 'trunk grille', I know it as a dog guard though. You'll find one here: https://shop.wingsskoda.co.uk/products/skoda-trunk-grille-lateral-for-fabia-iii-combi This is the reference/part number they give: 6V9017221 Hope this helps.

AnnoyingPentium's Return Dive into Swimming... and other 'elf stuff
I appear to have gotten the cold my brother has gotten better from, as has my Mum, so this week's swimming has been cancelled again. Feeling a bit ****e so honestly swimming probably isn't the best thing to be doing in the current state.

A new member and a proud owner of Skoda
Hello and welcome to Briskoda, Milosh! I particularly like that colour of Fabia, and yours looks rather shiny.

My assisted power stering is not working properly
+1 on what Sep said. Definitely check the battery. Mine does the same thing (lights dimming) when the battery is under load as a result of the PAS, always has done it.

a few problems fabia mk1
I know that thread too, Lee. I reckon only the 6-valve would have issues really. The 12v would be okay in my mind as it can sit really nicely at 70 on the motorway, even on some hills. EDIT - cruise control was available except for the 6v 54bhp model. At least that's what I can see.

It'll depend on the on-board supply control unit (thanks Pete) of your car (someone with more knowledge can back me up here), and you will need the specific indicator stalk that includes the required switchgear for cruise control.

Thanks. That, to me suggests an AZQ.

Fuel Cap Doesn't Spring Open
Oops, I meant to put a post up to say that it's arrived from @@Lee on the continent a few weeks ago. I'm currently waiting for a time when it's warmer before I can do anything. I have so many jobs riding on that one warm Tuesday in July that we get here for "Summer".

Photographs of Past Cars...
Maybe I'm cheating a little bit by including this photograph as it isn't directly a past car, per se, I think it counts though. It is, however, the exact clone of the one my Granda had from 2008 until 2020. The difference with this one is the roof bars and the last letter on the registration plate being an "O" instead of a "P". It even has the faded bumpers right! I spotted this one up for sale recently and had to double take it as I could swear our one was scrapped. Ours did meet a sad demise, however.

DPF didn't start until the Greenline 1.4 TDIs or the 1.6 TDIs of the FL Mk2. Unsure about DMF. Hope this helps.

Fabia Monte Carlo
Taste is subjective. I, for one, think it looks okay.

a few problems fabia mk1
Okay, so that gives us the option of BMD, BME, AZQ, or AWY. Which one of these codes is yours? Chances are it'll be AZQ or BME with it being a combi as I haven't heard of a 6-valve estate.

Mine does the same. Will wait and see what the experts say. What engine do you have? Your engine code will be beside the spare wheel well IIRC.
