  1. To be fair, when you're driving it, the most you'll see is the bonnet and mirrors anyway.
  2. Hello and welcome to Briskoda!
  3. I knew I'd have a use for this image, someday. All meant in good humour, of course.
  4. Cheers, Lee. Edited accordingly, I just skimmed the certificate and read it as "reverse" and was thinking to myself that it didn't quite make sense.
  5. It's a bit like ECP (Euro Car Parts) having sister firms, such as CarParts4Less who I used for my lights.
  6. Glad to see you didn't take off then!
  7. I don't think the Autodoc ones are RHD, I believe they're LHD. I enquired regarding their 'Johns' headlights, which is when they informed me that they are LHD only.
  8. These are RHD and correct for UK roads. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/aftermarket-headlamp-471780101 https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/aftermarket-headlamp-471780091 I put a set of these on, you'll be able to see the difference for yourself in this image. Left is the new one, right is the old one. I'd have offered you my old units but I've just sold them on. Hope this helps.
  9. Hello and welcome to Briskoda!
  10. I did that too, which was easier for getting them at an angle to get to the base. Your seats will probably be like mine and have no wiring underneath, which definitely makes these jobs easier!
  11. The Mk1 estate is where I'm probably going next since they're pretty cheap now. If I was buying a Fabia now I'd want an estate, but since they don't do one, Dacia would be getting my cash with the new Logan.
  12. Just as an update to this thread: The car failed the MOT yesterday for insufficient reserve travel on the handbrake. It received a pair of new rear wheel cylinders, new brake fluid and an adjustment of the handbrake. The issue hasn't returned in my day-to-day use of the car and since the clutch and brakes use the same reservoir for the fluid AFAIK, I believe this has cured the problem. Gear changes feel mildly better too. Thanks all.
  13. It just wouldn't come out. It's about as flexible as I am (). Instead I took the headrest off, and the base of the seat behind it out and laid it at an angle to get at the screw holding the cover on.
  14. Had a gap in the weather in whichever storm is flooding roads in and out of Ayr right now. Therefore, I used the time to fit this... Before... After... It was a bit of a pig of a job since I couldn't get the seat out of the car and hanging upside down for too long goes for my head.
  15. Big result! Car feels like a completely different car now. So I'm still adapting, again.
  16. That's if I don't already. I went to stop at the junction at the end of the road the garage is on as I usually would do and stopped about 50 yards short, swinging from my seatbelt. The schoolkids passing by got a good laugh out of it.
  17. One big benefit of the new rear cylinders is how good the brakes are now, just about threw myself through the windscreen coming to a stop. Handbrake only takes two clicks to lock on as well.
  18. Agreed. Going to do my service early and a lot more in-depth since it's just touching 60k now. Doing the three filters; oil, pollen, and air. Three spark plugs and the other two old coil packs. Along with some 505.00 approved oil. So it was passing so I'd have a use for all these bits.
  19. Didn't get them done, and I'll explain why below. To everyone - got it home. Needed a fuel filter, two rear brake cylinders (now have a good handbrake and the thing stops excellently), and a CV boot. Not bad, not bad. But 4 hours labour adds up, plus the MOT, and the parts. I'm now £270 lighter. But in all honesty I couldn't have completed most of those jobs myself anyway due to a lack of a suitable workspace. Console bushes can get done at some point in the future. I can turn the radio up enough to avoid the creaking. Anyway... silver linings and that... Saw 56mpg on the way back with a gentle touch on the throttle, and saw the above just as I parked up.
  20. Shouldn't be too much. Told the mechanic just to start replacing bits and retest. He didn't say when I'd get it back, but I reckon it'll be today or tomorrow. Or he'll phone right before he closes, knowing him. Until then I'm walking everywhere.
  21. Meant to post this last night but there was no swimming last night since my wee brother wasn't feeling all too good. I had went bowling in the afternoon but I don't think that is as good for you as swimming.
  22. 2.0 TSI in an estate version would have been nice, as would two weeks in Spain. But I don't think we'll get what we want.
  23. It's rather nice looking.
