  1. Heya folks! I had a bit of a curiosity about this for a while. On most of the Dutch & Belgian police vehicles that drive with VAG vehicles have a function where they can display video on the OEM infotainment that their onboard camera has recorded. Most of these are just ordinary Amundsen of Columbus units that don't look any different than consumers get. I'm curious how this is done? wiring diagrams show no video inputs for these radio's, except for a simple reverse camera. The police cars are able to display video when driving too. Is this a separate emergency vehicle only module somewhere?
  2. Hi there, It's been a few years since i last made a topic regarding firmware. I was wondering if this is the latest firmware for my MIB. Thank you kindly!
  3. Oh thank you kindly mate! I was a bit worried about kerbing them. Especially with the World war 2 type of roads here in Belgium. I'll definitely go for the wider tires!
  4. It should be the same ish, yeah! My 17's 225 45 17 The Gemini's: 225 40 18 It shows a minor size difference. +0.4% Probably not worth the bother indeed.
  5. Morning folk', I bought a set of 18" Gemini's to replace the 17" on my 1.8TSI prefacelift. I was wondering if any coding is required, the wheel size should be very similar but I read somewhere that vcds had a correction feature for it. With the current set of 17" OEM, my Speedo is off about 2.5mph Many thanks! Does anyone have picture or Gemini's fitted on normal octy's? Thanks
  6. Hello, sadly my panoramic sunroof has failed. It started clicking heavily for months now and even after greasing it sounded quite horrible. Last week it failed catastrophically, the glass is now crooked and the mechanism has jammed. My local dealer quoted me 1066 quid for a new sunroof without fitment. I found a used one from a burned wreck (interior didn't burn but had soot damage), my question is...Which seals do you recommend replacing? Does anyone know what kind of weight i can expect? Thank you kindly
  7. Yeah i tried searching the relay names in the wiring schematics, but i only find them on diesel ECU's. Quite the shame! I could probably just hook it up to a manual switch, but i'm not sure if that's a safe thing to do.
  8. Hmm it seems i may have to put this retrofit aside, i just noticed there's no pins for the ECU on petrol models. 😞
  9. Thank you very kindly! I will update this thread the moment all the parts arrive and i'll start on the build. so that it becomes easier for others
  10. Thank you kindly for your assistance! Aren't those male connector? I thought fuses would go in female connectors. Just noticed they were the big square fuses. My apologies! The ecu connector is a t94a (pin 47 & pin 90)
  11. Heya folks, i'm trying to retrofit a PTC heater in my Octavia 3. I was strugging with the following: -which pins do i need for the ECU (1.8TSI) . -which pins do i need for fuse holder B's fuses and relays? Thank you kindly
  12. Just received the update 1433, which refused to work on my unit. Kept saying can't read file and error 114. Then @pab567 supplied me with a different version (1233) That one booted up just fine! Updated succesfully, i seem to be getting an error in VCDS regarding versions. Can't seem to get rid of the DTC.
  13. Heya folks! My Octavia's columbus is acting a bit odd when using android auto. Sometimes it hangs to the point where i need to turn off the car. only seems to be occurring with android auto. Is there a place where i could obtain a firmware update? hopefully that'll fix it Thank you kindly.
  14. Heya folks, had my car washed at the local pakistani's. Blokes do a good job, but they kinda get too close with the highpressure lance. When i got home i noticed this droplet of water behind the lens of my headlight...should i be concerned? I'm aware these headlights fog up easily with condensation, but this seems like a leak.
