  1. noting here that skoda now saying for petrols inc my 280 that cambelt / timing chain changes not needed to well over 100k miles now. was a bit of a surprise to me. Am still considering a change and perhaps waterpump also, as Skoda then followed up with if a failure does occur, as timing chain / cambelt is a wear and tear part then no warranty cover (i have extended warranty at present)
  2. found this thread after talking with my local dealer. 280 2018 4x4 estate Post recent service, the desk staff, ooh your timing chain will be needed next. Fast forward a month or so, with mileage / timing nearer the 50k or 5 years (car is on 33k miles now but at 5 years old). Rang up today and they quoted what is mentioned above re the change. Petrol not needed until well over 100k. Then only timing chain needed, water pump not generally needed Feels like a quite a shift. Asked for prices anyway if I prefer to get done. 575 for timing chain only, nearly 800 with waterpump. if a failure does happen in the meantime, they clarified to say as timing chain is a wear and tear item, then warranty would not cover! Whats the consensus re getting done or not? Esp for 280 petrols?
  3. sorry to say it, have you considered ripping your cd's onto a sd card? very easy with old and newer pc's, laptops etc and then you have all your cd's on the data card to browse and play. I use exact audio copy / EAC https://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
  4. mines a 2018 280 and 6 spd if defo a 272 then should be 7 speed

  7. ouch did you have to remove the door card to access the handle from the inside I assume?
  8. will the 280 be discontinued at some point? thinking ahead and possible change in the future, i.e. get an order in for one in good time
  9. this happened whilst on hols, wont go back in, thankfully the door and lock still works, just have to reach over to let the wife into the car car booked into dealer next week to see if they can fix / hopefully under warranty
  10. looks to be the same issue as mentioned in the thread below?
  11. thanks for posting this, looks like i have this issue, my passenger handle is stuck and wont open. Hoping I can put it in under warranty, if not then I will be looking at this fix.
  12. took my winters off today - a little later than planned
  13. i have that one / model. fits fine in front, and back cigar power sources gets a little warm when worked hard (i have just put summer tyres back on and inflated from 2.1 bar to 2.9) but no probs. had it over a year.
  14. hope you find a good turbo supplier. I have used turbo technics a long time ago for an audi A4 turbo, swapped myself, but would not have the time anymore to do such work. good luck
