  1. For completness, bought a cheap rectifier from Amazon and no interference https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KFJVC5J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. It’s got the reverse wire in the media unit - I think I need to redo my connections and also check the extension cable join - it’s crystal clear when the engines off!
  3. Engine off - bad vibes when on!
  4. And yup wires worked out ok and head unit is in but this is the rear view .... any thoughts anyone?
  5. I’m not expecting much from the dab Antenna. The online specs for antennae for Tetra setups don’t stipulate passive and I can’t tell from looking at them. Going to be trial and error and a hunch that the ambulance system would’ve had some form of GPS linked to either of them. There was also a glass mount tucked away on the new a pillar but there’s no info and what and where things were connected to.
  6. The Car is an ex RRV - keeping a bit of the house 12v system to use when biking with my lad. So I have these that I’m looking to wire for GPS and DAB - will need to change at least one SMA terminal for the DAB USB which came with the stick on antenna. The antennae also have the N Type coax which needs to be rewired to run a signal to a 4g router. All in hold until head unit arrives to determine if it’s all going to fit behind the dash.
  7. Waiting for an Android 10 head to arrive from (allegedly) the European warehouse operated by AudiotechDirect - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9-Android-Car-Radio-For-Skoda-Octavia-Columbus-Fabia-Roomster-Yeti-VW-T5-T5-1-/173144148943?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 - to replace the original Bolero. Trunk handle camera, DAB sand USB line going in. First time of entered the world of autoelectrics!
  8. How did you get on? weather permitting and if my new media unit arrives will be attempting the same this week. Do you have any pics of this set up and the location used for the relay?
  9. What OBDii have you got? - I’ve already got the traction control light and airbag lights on during the stripping out of the rapid response radios. Waiting on the media unit to arrive from Oswestry seems to be taking as long as the parts from China.
  10. Had a good message exchange with ATD today as well and I have the same trim tool kit. I’m currently looking to source these to get the carpet under the pedals plat and in place. I’ve got a few orders in for other trim clips and various generic spares from other projects. But these are hard to find.
  11. How is the fit coming along - looking to do the same with my Octavia Scout - do you have multi function steering wheel?
  12. Sorry to hear that. Early days here but ... So far so good here and some of the electrical system is staying. eBay any help on resolution?
  13. How did you get on? Just bought one as a base for a camping vehicle.
  14. Where can I get hold of parts diagrams and numbers please? I have just got a RRV ambulance and external and underbody is good need centre console and parcel shelf as the priority
  15. How is the ambulance? Just bought one
  16. Hi all, any guidance on the Octavia Scout Mk2 would be appreciated. Just picked up one of the ex Ambulance rapid response that needs the usual internal tlc and decommissioning of the health system and recommissioning of the fun toys to create the funday soft overlander and camping wagon.
