  1. How do i change the oil pump on a 1.4 Tsi 2011 Octavia? I have already drained oil, removed sump and checked the oil pick up pick following a low oil pressure warning. TIA
  2. Where is the oil pressure switch located? I am having oil pressure light come on, no blockage in pick up pipe, i am due to change pump tomorrow but also want to change the pressure switch. TIA
  3. Ive been having an issue with oil pressure light coming on. I changed the oil and filter, and the light went away. After this is changed the turbo actuator as i was also suffering underboost. After this replacement the car drove well with no under boost, this problem is now fixed. After a few weeks, i put the car on a ramp to check for a coolant leak, now after leaving the car on the ramp, it decided not to start. The car would crank but not fire up. I rolled the car down on the ramps, car wouldn't start. I left the car overnight and hey presto it started. Later that day, the car would not start, cranks but no joy. While attempting to start the car, the cranks and then the oil light appears. Its the red oil can light to do with pressure, im not getting any fault codes. I have since taken off the sump to check that, it looked clean enough, no debris. Ive checked the oil pick up pipe, again this look fine, not sludge or blockages. Ive just ordered a new oil pressure sensor and oil pump. Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong??!
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have a problem with underboost, but after much messing about with the turbo and the actuator, i got the boost from 0.1 psi to around 8 or so, but the boost does drop down.
  5. Hi, I would like to know what a normal turbo boost is for a 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.4 Tsi with 122 Bhp? Thanks Matt
  6. Since i changed the oil and filter, oil pressure warning hasn't come back. So good news there! I have ordered a boost control valve and diverter valve, i will fit them and see if there is a change. I took off, the wastegate and was able to move it by hand. I was able to pull this out and then it returned in.
  7. Hi, So i have recently bought a Skoda Octavia 61 plate 1.4 tsi. I have had the low oil pressure warning message come up. I have changed the oil and oil filter as this really needed doing. I have driven the car for a round a week and this warning hasn't come back. This is good. However... i have now had the EML come on and the code P0299 appears. Turbocharger/Supercharger underboost. The car is not performing as i think it should. Turbo boost pressure wasn't getting past 0.1. I have checked the actuator, the arm moves, not freely, but it does move with some effort by hand. Where the arm of the actuator attaches using the clip, was very difficult to move by hand, i had to use a metal rod to get it to move. Is this normal? After checking the maf sensor, the n75 valve, it all looked ok. Ive checked the turbo itself, the fan is moving around freely, and the nut is still in place. Following all of the above i managed to get a turbo pressure of 1.5 psi, but thats it. I then used a can of turbo cleaner spraying into the turbo while the car was at 2000 rpm, this has had no effect on performance, and the code P0299 remains pending after clearing. Any advice or tips, i've read various things to check for including PCV valve, or maybe the N249? Any advice appreciated. TIA Matt
  8. It was clogged a quite a bit. Ive thrown it out now.
  9. Hi, So i have recently bought a Skoda Octavia 61 plate 1.4 tsi. I have had the low oil pressure warning message come up. I have changed the oil and oil filter as this really needed doing. I have since driven the car around 15 miles, slow and fast and the warning hasn't come back. However... i have now had the EML come on and the code P0299 appears. Turbocharger/Supercharger underboost. The car is not performing as i think it should. It is sluggish especially when going past 40-50 mph. Any advice or tips, i've read various things to check for including PCV valve, or maybe checking the sensor before and after turbo. Any advice appreciated. TIA Matt
  10. I haven't cleared the code, i will though, but i doubt if it will make any difference, as the car is definitely not performing as it should I changed the air filter when i did the oil change. Haven't checked sparks yet, will do that this afternoon. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the diagram above, the oil level was half way up the crossed area of the dipstick if that makes sense. On changing the oil and oil filter, the oil that i took out, was thick and black. Once the oil change was carried out i have driven the car around 15 miles, on slower roads and duel carriageway. The oil pressure warning has not come back up yet. Fingers crossed. However i am now getting a code P0299 Turbocharger/Supercharger underboost, which is why the car is not performing as well as it should. Yet another problem!
  12. It hasn't been serviced for a few years. I've only just bought the vehicle so my plan is to service it today, changing oil and filters etc I want to pressure test as well to see if there are any leaks, what would be the best way to do this? The car is on 107k
  13. I was doing 80mph the night before the low pressure warning light came on. I have a pressure tester, where is the best place to attach it? Also what should be an ideal bar or psi? Engine sounds fine, no unusual noises, and drives normally at low speeds (0 - 50ish)
  14. Sorry for lacking knowledge. Is the gauze strainer inside the the oil sump? Where is the pick up pipe?
  15. Octavia 1.4 Tsi registered Feb 2012 (61 plate) I have the above car, i have started having the low pressure oil warning light come on. The car is also very sluggish around the 80mph mark and wont go much faster especially in 6th gear. I plan tomorrow to change oil, oil filters etc Could this issue be as simple as changing the filter or would i need to change the oil pump or maybe something else? If i have to change oil pump, where is this located and how do i do it? Not able to find a video on the net TIA Matt
  16. Forgot to say, that when i get the flashing D symbol the car has gone out of gear!
  17. I have the 7 speed DSG gearbox in my 1.8 petrol Octavia Estate. The mechatronic unit was replaced just over 2 years ago. The problem i am having is very occasionally the car will go from D1, D2, D3 to a flashing 'D' symbol on the dash. It has only happened in low gears. Most of the time the car is fine, drives well, the gear changes are smooth. But once in a while the car just has a funny turn! When i get the flashing D symbol, i turn the car off and on and all is well. Do i need to get the gearbox serviced? Is it an issue with the clutch? Im confused as the mechatronic unit was replaced 2 years at a cost of £1800. Any ideas welcome! Thanks
  18. Hi, i have a Skoda Octavia 1.8 Tsi 7 speed dsg. I needed to put in a replacement Speedo, when my mechanic did this, the abs coding was lost. How do i go about finding out this code? Thanks in advance!
